The academic who helped formulate the lockdown policy and initially warned that half-a-million Britons could die from Covid-19<\/a> has reappeared with new recommendations.<\/p>\n

Prof. Ferguson had been forced to resign his position as a scientific advisor to the government after he was found to have contravened the very guidelines he had helped formulate. He had done so to meet his married lover<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite such a history the professor is again being given prominence in the MSM and let\u2019s not mince our words: Prof Ferguson has an appalling track record<\/a>:<\/p>\n

In 2001 he predicted 130,000 deaths from Mad Cow Disease. There were in fact 200.<\/p>\n

In 2002 Prof. Ferguson predicted 50,000 deaths in the UK from Mad Cow Disease. There were in fact 177 but as a result of his warnings literally millions of cattle and sheep were slaughtered.<\/p>\n

In 2005 Prof. Ferguson predicted 150 million deaths from Bird Flu. There were actually 282.<\/p>\n

With such a track record we should be asking: why is the media even quoting this guy, let alone featuring him in a headline story? Are they trying to scare us?<\/p>\n

Seriously. This is fear-mongering, pure and simple, and the corporate media is an active participant.<\/p>\n

The third national lockdown may have to be stricter than the second, Imperial College London<\/a> epidemiologist Professor Neil Ferguson<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe concern I have right now is that … (in) the East of England<\/a>, for instance, case numbers were rising during the last lockdown, so there may be a need for additional controls beyond even what were in place then,\u201d he told BBC Radio 4<\/a>\u2019s World At One<\/em> programme on Friday.<\/p>\n

Prof Ferguson sat on the government\u2019s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies until May, and his modelling led the UK government to U-turn on its initial \u201cherd immunity<\/a>\u201d strategy and to design the first national lockdown in March.<\/p>\n

His comments came as the prime minister, Boris Johnson, failed to rule out the prospect of a third national lockdown, signalling that one might be needed after Christmas after the rate of infections increased \u201cvery much\u201d in the last few weeks.<\/p>\n
