{"id":215333,"date":"2020-10-21T07:23:02","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T07:23:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=215333"},"modified":"2020-10-23T07:12:50","modified_gmt":"2020-10-23T07:12:50","slug":"san-diego-school-district-announces-it-will-eliminate-grading-standards-to-combat-racism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=215333","title":{"rendered":"San Diego School District Announces it Will Eliminate Grading Standards to \u201cCombat Racism\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Paul Joseph Watson \u2013 SUMMIT News Oct 20, 2020<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/classroom-teaching.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-215336\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/classroom-teaching-768x403.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"284\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/classroom-teaching-768x403.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/classroom-teaching-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/classroom-teaching.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><strong>The San Diego Unified School District has announced that it will eliminate its previously used grading standards in order to \u201ccombat racism\u201d. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The move came about after it was revealed that just 7% of D or F grades are handed out to white students, while 23% went to Native Americans, 23% of failing grades went to Hispanics and 20% went to black students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">However, instead of trying to develop an actual understanding of why this is taking place, the school district simply announced that \u201cdiscrimination\u201d and \u201cracism\u201d were to blame before embarking on a complete do-over of the grading system in order to combat this apparent injustice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Academic grades will now not be dependent on early tests (meaning students could flunk them and not have it affect their final grade), and grades \u201cwill now focus on mastery of the material, not a yearly average.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Teachers will also not be able to consider non-material factors like bad behavior in the classroom and not handing in work on time when grading students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The horrific irony of this of course is that is will simply incentivize already underperforming students to act out in class and miss coursework deadlines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cThe board will also review potential student disparities stemming from its zero-tolerance disciplinary policy on cheating in the coming weeks,\u201d reports <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsandiego.com\/news\/local\/san-diego-unified-school-district-changes-grading-system-to-combat-racism\/2425346\/\"><strong>NBC News<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\" charset=\"UTF-8\" src=\"https:\/\/nbcsandiego.com\/portableplayer\/?CID=1:13:2425362&#038;videoID=1807663171933&#038;origin=nbcsandiego.com&#038;fullWidth=y\"><\/script><br \/>\n&#8212;<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Once again, this will only have the impact of encouraging underperforming students to cheat more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cThis is part of our honest reckoning as a school district,\u201d said SDUSD Vice President Richard Barrera. \u201cIf we\u2019re actually going to be an anti-racist school district, we have to confront practices like this that have gone on for years and years.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">All of these measures are guaranteed to harm non-white students, not help them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">By way of the bigotry of low expectations, predominantly white liberal education officials are enacting policies that will increase the chances of Native American, Hispanic and black students leaving school with lackadaisical mental attitudes and poor skill sets, making their entry into the jobs market even harder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cThis epitomizes the liberal strategy for eliminating the racial disparities they endlessly obsess on: bring everyone down to a lowest common denominator.
