Click to enlarge<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Scientists in the U.S. are concerned that the battle to control the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/coronavirus\/index.html\"><strong>coronavirus<\/strong><\/a> <\/span>has become so politicized that many people may decide not to take a vaccine when one becomes available.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Several different companies are working to develop injections with the government having provided $10 billion of investment as part of &#8216;Operation Warp Speed&#8217; which aims to deliver 300 million doses of a vaccine to Americans by January 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">But such is the current mistrust of politicians and even the worry that any such &#8216;cure&#8217; may be being rushed, that it could lead to greater numbers deciding not to get the jab at all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">A Pew Research poll conducted last month found about half of US adults (51 percent) wouldn&#8217;t get a COVID-19 vaccine should one be available today. In May the figure was 72 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Misinformation about the effects of a vaccine and the original causes behind the coronavirus pandemic have also contributed to the overall uncertainty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Adding to the worry, two major drug manufacturers halted their vaccine trials because of safety concerns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">There are hundreds of vaccines in a pre-clinical testing phase, but only four \u2014 those run by Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson &amp; Johnson, and AstraZeneca \u2014 are currently in Phase 3 clinical trials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In August, more than a third of Americans said they would not get a vaccine against <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/coronavirus\/index.html\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">coronavirus<\/span><\/strong><\/a> even if it were to be free and approved by the FDA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Sixty-five per cent of survey respondents say they would accept the offer and get themselves vaccinated while 35% said they would not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Those who who say they would not be happy to get the injection also runs roughly along party political lines with less than half of <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/republicans\/index.html\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Republicans<\/span><\/strong><\/a> (47%) saying they would take the jab but with 81% of Democrats ready to line up to be inoculated, according to the poll by\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/317018\/one-three-americans-not-covid-vaccine.aspx\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Gallup<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">&#8216;As the situation stands today, the nation&#8217;s influencers \u2014 including health professionals, policymakers and leaders \u2014 who see a vaccine as a way forward may have their work cut out for them in persuading Americans to take advantage of such an option,&#8217; Gallup said in a post announcing the findings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">&#8216;Policymakers in government, healthcare, industry and education will need to anticipate that a significant proportion of the population will be hesitant to get a vaccine, even at no cost,&#8217; the group said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/elon-musk.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-170958\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/elon-musk.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Some high profile voices are also expressing doubts over whether they would take the jab.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In September,\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sciencetech\/elon-musk\/index.html\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Elon Musk<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0revealed he would not get a <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/coronavirus\/index.html\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">coronavirus<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0vaccine when available because he&#8217;s &#8216;not at risk&#8217;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The Tesla and <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sciencetech\/spacex\/index.html\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">SpaceX<\/span><\/strong><\/a> founder said in a New York Times&#8217; podcast that even when vaccines are readily accessible, he won&#8217;t take one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-8851269\/Scientists-worry-COVID-19-vaccine-make-difference-51-percent-saying-wont-take.html\">Continues \u2026<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In August 35 percent of Americans questioned said they would not get vaccinated against Covid-19.
