Since May 29th, Portland has been the back drop of more than 100 nights of antifa, anarchist and Black Lives Matter, Inc\u2122 terroristic riots. They set fires, looted, and intimidated people by threatening to burn them alive in their homes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">But after the millions of dollars of destruction, criminality and thuggery it stopped last week. Poof!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Why?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">I certainly don\u2019t want to tempt these thugs, but it can\u2019t go without saying that Portland\u2019s 100 plus days of riots appeared to end after Wednesday, September 9th.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">That was the last time the Portland Police Bureau warned about protests.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">SW Jefferson to SW Salmon from SW 1st to SW Broadway is closed to pedestrians but open for vehicular traffic. All people must leave the area to the west now. Champman and Lownsdale Squares are now closed.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Portland Police (@PortlandPolice) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PortlandPolice\/status\/1303590665545113600?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 9, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The usual live-streamers decamped to other riots and fires.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">By September 10th, the overworked cops from Portland Police Bureau were offered out to assist other agencies. Suddenly, instead of being required to work the riots lines, they were free.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I have offered <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ClackCoSheriff?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ClackCoSheriff<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ORStatePolice?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ORStatePolice<\/a> PPB officers to assist with emergencies related to fires. PPB recognizes the need for us all to come together as a state to assist one another in this time of need.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Chief Chuck Lovell (@ChiefCLovell) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChiefCLovell\/status\/1304188643070730241?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 10, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Why?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">On September 7th to the morning of the 8th, the Pacific Northwest experienced <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kgw.com\/article\/weather\/high-wind-warning-northwest-oregon-southwest-washington\/283-dd2cdd21-5a67-4d4f-a205-e16263b6c96d\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>a major \u201cwind event<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.\u201d Winds gusted through Oregon and Washington at more than 60 miles per hour. Fires that had been allowed to crackle along, such <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/pjmedia.com\/news-and-politics\/victoria-taft\/2020\/09\/14\/oregon-wildfires-one-familys-acts-of-heroism-including-duke-the-dogs-are-absolutely-humbling-n930854\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>as the Beachie fire, flared up<\/strong><\/span>.<\/a> Power lines were downed. The fires kicked up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">And then came the reports. Clackamas County <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/pjmedia.com\/news-and-politics\/victoria-taft\/2020\/09\/15\/oregon-says-reports-of-antifa-firesetters-are-nuts-so-why-did-this-county-call-for-curfew-because-of-them-n931601\">Sheriff\u2019s officials reported<\/a><\/strong><\/span> that people had seen antifa protester types reportedly stashing gas cans, looting, and looking ridiculously out of place. They were taking pictures and giving locals grief for trying to keep them out of closed neighborhoods. Locals <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/pjmedia.com\/news-and-politics\/victoria-taft\/2020\/09\/13\/oregon-sheriffs-deputy-investigating-fires-pays-price-for-saying-unkind-words-about-antifa-n924823\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>wondered if there was<\/strong><\/span><\/a> a connection between the fires and the sightings of these folks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">BLM was seen there. The original BLM, the Bureau of Land Management, not the group that borrowed the acronym.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Preventable wildfires threaten lives, property, &amp; precious resources every year. Myriad law enforcement <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/pjmedia.com\/columns\/victoria-taft\/2020\/09\/11\/cops-try-to-convince-riot-weary-people-in-oregon-that-antifa-didnt-start-wildfires-good-luck-with-that-n917694\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>agencies begged people to stop sharing such stories<\/strong><\/span>,<\/a> as I reported on PJMedia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">I reached out to the Portland Police Bureau for a comment on the lag in riots, but didn\u2019t receive a reply before publication.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Riot-weary Oregonians aren\u2019t necessarily mollified by the concerted effort to shut down these reports. Until last Wednesday night, they\u2019d seen the antifa rioters and arsonists in action on the news every night in Portland. And now some of them swore they saw those people in Estacada, Sandy, Molalla and other parts of the burning Clackamas County.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Indeed, documents from the Department of Homeland Security show that whatever antifa rioters are doing, they\u2019re doing in concert, organizing with other like-minded people.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">are organized and show up night after night, and share common TTPs (Tactics, Techniques and Procedures)..\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Threat actors who are motivated by Anarchists or ANTIFA (or a combination of both) ideologies to carry out acts of violence against State, Local and Federal authorities..\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Catherine Herridge (@CBS_Herridge) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBS_Herridge\/status\/1305642560124264455?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 14, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The internal document leaked yesterday from the Department of Homeland Security reads:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">According to this @DHSgov internal email, obtained @CBSNews, former Acting Under Secretary for Intelligence &amp; Analysis Brian Murphy wrote colleagues on July 25th that the Portland violence was not \u201copportunistic\u201d but \u201corganized\u201d citing \u201cAnarchists or Antifa\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201c<strong>We can\u2019t say any longer that this violent situation is opportunistic.<\/strong> Additionally, we have overwhelmingly(sic) intelligence regarding the ideologies driving individuals toward violence + why the violence has continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">A core set of Threat actors\u00a0are organized and show up night after night, and share common TTPs (Tactics, Techniques and Procedures).. Why are they so quiet right now?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Oregonians might well wonder that these \u201cthreat actors\u201d are doing their arsons in the tinder dry woodlands of the state instead of nearby downtown Portland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The riots have stopped. Did they go to San Francisco or Lancaster, Pennsylvania to raise hell? Did they stop because of the smokey skies and air quality numbers that are off the charts? It seems unlikely that a group that spawned a <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/pjmedia.com\/news-and-politics\/victoria-taft\/2020\/09\/06\/police-say-suspected-antifa-hit-man-stalked-pro-trump-victim-before-portland-murder-n896394\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>murderer, multiple arsonists and police assaulters<\/strong><\/span><\/a> would be dissuaded by smoky quality air. Is it because the media are busy covering the wildfires and there\u2019s nothing in rioting for the terrorists? Or is it because of something else?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The riots are over for now.
