Hospitals, clinics, and doctors will all be linked to a central server. The move is aimed at mapping the health records of every citizen of the country in a digital format.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans to make the announcement during his country\u2019s Independence Day celebrations Aug. 15.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Privacy rights advocates in India, the world\u2019s most populous democracy, are attempting to warn fellow citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cI am not seeing any discussion around this. This is a huge step! A mandatory card and a number with all your health info accessible? How is that a good thing? What about confidentiality issues?\u201d one Twitter user wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Are we living in  data privacy myths? <br \/>Besides, the scheme is completely up to hospitals\/ citizens, whether they want to opt for the &#39;One Nation One Health Card&#39; scheme or not. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AGuRdeVVU9\">https:\/\/t.co\/AGuRdeVVU9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; biju govind (@bijugovind) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bijugovind\/status\/1292352148424945664?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 9, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">But her tweet was answered by another user who called her concerns a \u201cdata privacy myth\u201d and said that the One Nation One Health Card plan is voluntary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">And yet, that would seem to undermine the entire concept of making \u2018universal access\u2019 to health records by medical providers possible throughout India.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The scheme is really part of a wider push by Gates to turn over <em>all<\/em> health care to <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.biggovernment.news\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>all<\/strong><\/span><\/em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> governments<\/strong><\/span><\/a> around the world, the United States included.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Annalisa Merelli, a geopolitics reporter for Quartz, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/qz.com\/1810018\/how-bill-gates-wants-us-to-respond-to-coronavirus\/\">claimed in February<\/a><\/strong><\/span> as the COVID-19 outbreak was just beginning to spread that the billionaire Microsoft founder\u2019s \u201cplan to tackle\u201d the pandemic \u201conly works if governments handle health care.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Merelli summarized Gates\u2019 thoughts on how best to handle the pandemic:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><em>Key amongst them <strong>are actions only the government can take<\/strong>: Investments to tackle treatment which are too risky for private companies to make; control of the market price of treatments and vaccines, which would otherwise skyrocket were makers allowed to maximize profits from them; and international aid, which would strengthen the health systems of low-income countries and reduce the spread of the virus.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">That\u2019s nonsense. If anything, there is already <em>too much government<\/em> in health care, which is why rules are so byzantine, delivery of care often spotty but always expensive, and why there is so much red tape involved just to <em>provide care<\/em> to Americans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">If it\u2019s bad now, can you imagine how much <em>worse<\/em> the paperwork-and-overhead nightmare would get?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Well, <em>that\u2019s <\/em>what Gates wants. And that\u2019s what singular medical card tracking systems do, they involve government in every single healthcare decision, treatment and encounter. And government \u201ccontrol of the market price of treatments\u201d and medications would result in the <em>loss<\/em> of treatment options and the health care professionals needed to provide them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Mandatory price controls historically fail because political leaders, in an attempt to appeal to the masses, always set prices far too low for businesses (and yes, providing health care is and should be a business because profits encourage better practices and inspire competition which makes delivery of care better) to survive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Just take a look at what has happened to health care (and every other business sector) in Venezuela: Price controls destroyed businesses and industries because the price controls (let\u2019s just call them \u2018price <em>limits<\/em>\u2019 because that\u2019s what they are) were far below necessary profit margins to stay open and keep people employed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The more our societies \u201cadvance\u201d, the less free we become, it seems.
