She\u2019s the first Black woman on the ticket; also, the first South Asian.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">But \u2026 she\u2019s the second VP pick to have Jewish in-laws, the first being Joe Lieberman, who ran as Al Gore\u2019s running mate in 2000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Yup, Harris is married to a Jewish dude, the adorable Doug Emhoff, who clearly adores her. Emhoff and his parents are pretty great Jewish things, so you\u2019ll find more about them below \u2014 don\u2019t worry, we\u2019ll hit the serious stuff, like her stance on Israel. Spoiler alert: She\u2019s more <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/forward.com\/news\/national\/417464\/5-jewish-things-to-know-about-kamala-harris\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>AIPAC than JStreet<\/strong><\/span>,<\/a> but J Street <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jstreetdotorg\/status\/1293284783578058752\">endorsed her<\/a><\/strong><\/span> right after the campaign announced that she was the pick.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">She believes in a two-state solution and opposes BDS. They say she didn\u2019t do enough to fight anti-Semitism on college campuses in her state of California, and characterize her as part of the far left.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Emhoff has two children from a prior marriage and a sharp social media game that\u2019s all about his love for Harris.
