{"id":209722,"date":"2020-07-03T07:23:36","date_gmt":"2020-07-03T07:23:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=209722"},"modified":"2020-07-06T06:00:08","modified_gmt":"2020-07-06T06:00:08","slug":"jonathan-turley-maxwell-arrest-is-bad-news-for-prince-andrew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=209722","title":{"rendered":"Jonathan Turley: Maxwell Arrest is \u201cBad News\u201d For Prince Andrew"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Paul Joseph Watson \u2013 Summit News July 2, 2020<\/strong><\/h1>\n<div id=\"attachment_109232\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Prince-Andrew.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-109232\" class=\"wp-image-109232\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Prince-Andrew-1024x635.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-109232\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Prince Andrew<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><strong>Criminal defense lawyer Jonathan Turley expressed surprise that Epstein confidante Ghislaine Maxwell left the relative safety of Paris to return to America, while noting that her arrest was \u201cbad news\u201d for Prince Andrew.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Maxwell was arrested by the FBI in New Hampshire and immediately charged by federal prosecutors, leaving open the possibility that damning new details about Epstein\u2019s global sex trafficking pedophile network could be exposed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">According to Turley, it\u2019s a surprise that Maxwell decided to leave Paris and travel to the U.S. given that extradition laws in France would have largely protected her from prosecution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cFrankly, as a criminal defense lawyer, I am surprised that Maxwell risked returning to the United States,\u201d writes Turley. \u201cShe was believed to be living in Paris. It was well-known that the Justice Department was pursuing the case, including demands to interview Prince Andrew.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Maxwell&#39;s arrest could be bad news for a number of individuals including Prince Andrew.  One wrinkle however is the outrageous plea deal struck by the Justice Department with Epstein that purportedly protects &quot;co-conspirators.&quot; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/X8MdDgCabv\">https:\/\/t.co\/X8MdDgCabv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Jonathan Turley (@JonathanTurley) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JonathanTurley\/status\/1278688675723907072?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 2, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Prince Andrew was pictured with both Maxwell at her London home and a 17-year-old Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who alleges she was sexually abused by the Royal and other members of Epstein\u2019s network. Prince Andrew has denied ever meeting Roberts and suggested during an interview with the BBC that the photograph could be fake.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Turley says Maxwell\u2019s arrest is \u201cbad news\u201d for Prince Andrew because Maxwell\u2019s testimony would bolster Roberts\u2019 allegations against the Royal. That is of course if Maxwell doesn\u2019t suddenly \u201ccommit suicide\u201d like Epstein.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cHer arrest may be unnerving for figures like Prince Andrew,\u201d writes Turley. \u201cShe would be the ultimate cooperating witness if she decided to cooperate on broader criminal inquiries. Giuffre and others have alleged that she was the primary procurer of young girls for Epstein to abuse.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cSuch prosecutions are not easy given the passage of time. However, the government clearly has live witnesses like Giuffre who might have a significant impact on a jury.
