{"id":207189,"date":"2020-05-13T06:45:07","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T06:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=207189"},"modified":"2020-05-15T06:12:32","modified_gmt":"2020-05-15T06:12:32","slug":"like-a-tv-set-neil-armstrongs-moon-landing-admission-exposed-in-unearthed-bbc-footage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=207189","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Like a TV set!\u2019 Neil Armstrong\u2019s Moon landing admission exposed in unearthed BBC footage"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">Callum Hoare \u2013 Daily Express May 12, 2020<\/h1>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PtdcdxvNI1o?start=122\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n&#8212;<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><strong>NEIL ARMSTRONG told the BBC that the Moon&#8217;s surface was &#8220;as if you were looking at a television set&#8221; in an interview 50 years ago, unearthed footage shows.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Armstrong became an international celebrity after becoming the first man to <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/science\/1258355\/moon-landing-fake-film-studio-nasa-apollo-11-neil-armstrong-buzz-aldrin-spt\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>walk on the lunar surface<\/strong><\/span><\/a> on July 20, 1969, during <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/nasa\">NASA<\/a><\/strong><\/span>&#8216;s Apollo 11 mission. The former test pilot jumped off the lunar lander and delivered his \u201cone small step\u201d speech to the millions watching back on Earth, after completing John F. Kennedy\u2019s goal of <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/science\/1275210\/moon-landing-nasa-michael-collins-neil-amstrong-buzz-aldrin-apollo-11-cold-war-jfk-spt\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>putting a man on the Moon by the end of the Sixties<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. Shortly after, he was joined by his colleague <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/science\/1267119\/moon-landing-buzz-aldrin-apollo-11-nasa-confession-neil-armstrong-brian-cox-spt\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Buzz Aldrin<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and the pair buried the US flag into the surface, before completing their experiments and eventually jetting off to rendezvous with <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/science\/1279344\/moon-landing-apollo-11-michael-collins-neil-armstrong-buzz-aldrin-nasa-spt\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Michael Collins<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, who spent 21 hours orbiting in the Command Module.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">On returning to Earth, the trio went on an around-the-world media tour to detail their achievements and in 1970, Armstrong spoke to Patrick Moore at the BBC, where he was asked what the surface of the Moon looked like.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">He said: \u201cThe colour of the surface certainly varies depending on the angle that you see it, it\u2019s a characteristic that we observed first while travelling around the Moon in orbit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cYou could see that, at the boundary between the black part of the Moon and the lighted part of the Moon, it was as if you were looking at a television set with the contrast turned to full.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-145328\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/apollo-11-moon-landing-hoax-revised-252x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"252\" height=\"300\" as you moved further into the light, there were more and more shades of grey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cBut as you moved further, such that the Sun was higher above the horizon, you actually started to see the tans and browns appear, although at a very low level.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cSimilarly, on the surface of the Moon, the same characteristic is evident, you can see browns if the Sun is high enough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cApollo 12, for example, landed while the Sun was only five degrees above the horizon, so when they arrived, they saw no browns or tans anywhere only fairly high contrast.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Armstrong went on to reveal how the colour of the surface appeared to change when he grabbed a sample.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">He added: \u201cBut I did, the Sun was 11 degrees and Apollo 12 did also the next day, when they arose from their sleeping period, the Sun was higher, of course.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cThe colour is a puzzling phenomenon on the Moon, asides from the characteristics that I\u2019ve already mentioned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cYou generally have the impression of being on a desert-like surface, with rather light coloured hues, yet when you look at the material at close range \u2013 like in your hands \u2013 you find that it\u2019s charcoal grey in fact and we were never able to find any things that were very different from that colour.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cI suspect that as we get more and more samples with future flights we will see that there is in fact some colour but the optical properties on the Moon are most peculiar.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The late astronaut also added that he and Aldrin had trouble in their perception of distance, due to the curvature of the Moon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a
