Her long and extensive record of Jew-baiting has proven time and again that she is utterly unfit to sit in the British House of Lords. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PCDTocQyTy\">https:\/\/t.co\/PCDTocQyTy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; American Jewish Committee (@AJCGlobal) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AJCGlobal\/status\/1233478287697022976?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 28, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The Community Security Trust, a British nonprofit that focuses on providing security to Jews as protection from anti-Semitism, tweeted: \u201cUnlike other forms of racism, anti-Semitism \u2018punches up,\u2019 not \u2018down\u2019: because Jews are accused of evil, hidden power.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">According to the <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/politics\/baroness-tonge-antisemitism-pittsburgh-shooting-lib-dems-peer-house-of-lords-a8605341.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>UK Independent<\/strong><\/span>,<\/a> Tonge was a member of the Liberal Democrat party until she was suspended in 2016 when she chaired an event in Parliament at which a speaker <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/baroness-tonge-resigns-from-the-liberal-democrats-in-anti-semitic-row-10634539?dcmp=snt-sf-twitter\">suggested<\/a><\/strong><\/span> that Jews are to blame for the Holocaust and compared Israel to ISIS. Tonge resigned from the party after being suspended and is currently an independent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The House of Lords is the upper house of Parliament. Unlike the U.S. Senate, Congress\u2019 upper chamber, members of the House of Lords aren\u2019t elected. Its membership is granted by appointment or by heredity or official function.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In December, Tonge <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/news\/politics\/peers-baroness-tonge-apologise-jeremy-corbyn-election-defeat-israel-a4314481.html\">wrote<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>in a Facebook post that \u201cthe pro-Israel lobby won our General Election by lying about Jeremy Corbyn.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jewishjournal.com\/news\/world\/311287\/british-mp-says-israel-is-americas-puppet-master\/\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Normally the least hint of \u201canti-Semitism&#8221; gets blanket media coverage.
