Why is China purging Marxists and Communists from its population?<\/span><\/p>\n

A let-the-cat-out-of-a-bag story from Time Magazine<\/em> in 2001 declared that China had already flipped into a Technocracy, leaving Communism in the dust. The article, Revenge of the Nerd<\/strong><\/span>s<\/a> stated:<\/span><\/p>\n

The nerds are run\u00adning the show in today\u2019s China. In the twenty years since Deng Xiaoping\u2019s\u00a0<\/em>[Ed. Note: count back\u00adward to 1978\u2009\u2013\u200979]\u00a0reforms kicked in, the com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adtion of the Chi\u00adnese lead\u00ader\u00adship has shifted markedly in favor of\u00a0<\/em>tech\u00adnocrats<\/em><\/strong>. \u2026It\u2019s no exag\u00adger\u00ada\u00adtion to describe the cur\u00adrent regime as a\u00a0<\/em>tech\u00adnoc\u00adracy<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

After the Maoist mad\u00adness abated and Deng Xiaoping inau\u00adgu\u00adrated the opening and\u00a0<\/em>reforms that began in late 1978, sci\u00aden\u00adtific and tech\u00adnical intel\u00adlec\u00adtuals were among the first to be reha\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adtated.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Real\u00adizing that they were the key to the Four Mod\u00adern\u00adiza\u00adtions embraced by the reformers, con\u00adcerted efforts were made to bring the \u201cexperts\u201d back into the\u00a0fold.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

During the 1980s, tech\u00adnoc\u00adracy as a con\u00adcept was much talked about, espe\u00adcially in the con\u00adtext of so-called \u201c<\/em>Neo-Authoritarianism\u201d\u2009\u2014\u2009the prin\u00adciple at the heart of the \u201cAsian Devel\u00adop\u00admental Model\u201d that South Korea, Sin\u00adga\u00adpore, and Taiwan had pur\u00adsued with apparent suc\u00adcess.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0The basic beliefs and assump\u00adtions of the tech\u00adnocrats were laid out quite plainly:\u00a0<\/em>Social and eco\u00adnomic prob\u00adlems were akin to engi\u00adneering prob\u00adlems and could be under\u00adstood, addressed, and even\u00adtu\u00adally solved as such.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The open hos\u00adtility to reli\u00adgion that Bei\u00adjing exhibits at times\u2009\u2014\u2009most notably in its obses\u00adsive drive to stamp out the \u201cevil cult\u201d of Falun Gong\u2009\u2014\u2009has pre-Marxist roots.\u00a0<\/em>Sci\u00aden\u00adtism under\u00adlies the post-Mao tech\u00adnoc\u00adracy<\/em><\/strong>, and it is the ortho\u00addoxy against which here\u00adsies are mea\u00adsured.<\/em> [Emphasis added]<\/span><\/p>\n

I have stated for several years now that China\u2019s Communists and Marxists would end up being the \u201cuseful idiots\u201d of Technocracy, just like they will in America. The radical Marxist left served a purpose \u2013 for a time \u2013 and now their time is running out.<\/span><\/p>\n
