{"id":201899,"date":"2020-02-04T08:40:42","date_gmt":"2020-02-04T08:40:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=201899"},"modified":"2020-02-06T06:43:02","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T06:43:02","slug":"mini-ice-age-warnings-for-next-30-years-with-50c-temperatures-in-coldest-areas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=201899","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Mini Ice Age&#8217; warnings for next 30 years with -50C temperatures in coldest areas"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">Ryan Merrifield \u2013 The Sun Feb 3, 2020<\/h1>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sASbVkK-p0w\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n&#8212;<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Cold snaps so severe they could threaten food shortages and plummeting temperatures are a very real possibility over the next 30 years, an expert claims.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">With the Sun entering a natural &#8220;hibernation period&#8221; or solar minimum in which it projects less heat at the Earth there could be frostier <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/weather\">weather<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and heavy snow storms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Scientist Valentina Zharkova, of Northumbria University, said average temperatures could drop by 1C in 2020 and last up to a year &#8211; while resulting in wet and cold summers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">And the minimum was the cause for Canada&#8217;s recent -50C, she claims.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">While normal solar minimums are a natural occurrence in the sun&#8217;s life cycle every 11 years or so, next year&#8217;s could be especially chilly as it marks the beginning of a much bigger drop in energy, reports the <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tech\/10864950\/mini-ice-age-earth-weather\/?utm_campaign=sunmainfacebook&amp;utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1580644108\">Sun Online<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">A Grand Solar Minimum only comes around every 400 years and Professor Zharkova warns icy spells and wetter summers could be a mainstay until 2053.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">She claims the dramatic cold snap in Canada, which saw temperatures plummet to -50C, are thanks to the minimum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">&#8220;The Sun is approaching a hibernation period,&#8221; Professor Zharkova, who has published multiple scientific papers on solar minimums, said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">&#8220;Less sunspots will be formed on the solar surface and thus less energy and radiation will be emitted towards the planets and the Earth.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">&#8220;The reduction in temperature will result in cold weathers on Earth, wet and cold summers, cold and wet winters.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">&#8220;We will possibly get big frosts as is happening now in Canada where they see [temperatures] of -50C.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">&#8220;But this is only the start of GSM, there is more to come in the next 33 years.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The Maunder Minimum was the last GSM to hit Earth, lasting between 1645 and 1715, resulting in duller sunshine and a drop in temperatures across the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_163377\" style=\"width: 370px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/River-Thames-last-froze-over-in-the-17th-century-when-fairs-were-held-on-the-frozen-river.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-163377\" class=\"wp-image-163377\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/River-Thames-last-froze-over-in-the-17th-century-when-fairs-were-held-on-the-frozen-river-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-163377\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Thames last froze over in the 17th century when fairs were held on the frozen river.
