Hunte told the audience, prompting cheers from the crowd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">And I got a promotion,&#8217; he added, to the sound of more cheering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Hunte also referred to himself as the &#8216;youngest, blackest and gayest correspondent&#8217; the BBC has ever seen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">An insider at the BBC told MailOnline that the video was being shared among employees and left people &#8216;furious&#8217;, at a time when the broadcast corporation announced it would cut 450 jobs from its total news staffing of 6,000\u00a0in a drive to save \u00a380million<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Plans to axe Victoria Derbyshire&#8217;s BBC Two programme were confirmed on Wednesday having already been leaked, with the host admitting she is &#8216;devastated&#8217;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">There will also be a cut to Newsnight&#8217;s budget, job losses at 5 Live and the World Service will lose shows, it was confirmed earlier this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Ben Hunte was named first LGBT correspondent for BBC News in 2018 and reports on stories about sexuality and gender, while also providing analysis on LGBT issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">He previously worked as a presenter for\u00a0BBC Africa&#8217;s\u00a0children&#8217;s programme &#8216;What&#8217;s New&#8217;,\u00a0the BBC&#8217;s first TV programme and digital service for children in Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-7953379\/BBCs-LGBT-correspondent-sparks-fury-colleagues.html\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ben Hunte boasted that he was &#8216;youngest, blackest and gayest correspondent&#8217;
