U.S. President Donald Trump is using his executive order signed in 2017 to expand the militarized police forces<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>across the nation in preparation to launch a sweeping crackdown on crime that Trump referenced was \u201cthe surge\u201d according to a press event at the International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Exposition.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn the coming weeks, Attorney General Barr will announce a new crackdown on violent crime \u2014 which I think is so important \u2014 targeting gangs and drug traffickers in high crime cities and dangerous rural areas,\u201d Trump said during the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Chicago. \u201cLet\u2019s call it the surge,\u201d the White House press release reads<\/strong><\/span>.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The President didn\u2019t provide any details on the plan but he stated that the actions would be \u201cvery dramatic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump further expressed his administration\u2019s \u201cachievements\u201d like putting military equipment\u00a0into the hands of U.S. police officers, as Activist Post<\/em> reported<\/strong><\/span>.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Trump then claimed \u201cAfghanistan is a safe place\u201d compared to Chicago and these actions would help to \u201ckeep you safe, I\u2019ve made $600 million-worth of surplus military equipment available to local law enforcement,\u201d Trump told the audience of police chiefs. \u201cIf you remember, the previous administration didn\u2019t want to do that\u2026 They didn\u2019t want to make you look so tough. They didn\u2019t want to make you look like you\u2019re a threat.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of Afghanistan, here\u2019s U.S. Marine Sgt. Shamar Thomas (who served in the war on terror) voicing himself during Occupy in 2011 reminding you that the streets aren\u2019t a war zone and to lay down your weapons.<\/span><\/p>\n
