Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, a contender for the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination, appeared on Fox News\u2019 \u201cTucker Carlson Tonight\u201d Monday to discuss a personal tale of Google\u2019s bias against her and her campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gabbard, a combat veteran who\u00a0served<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0in Kuwait and Iraq, finds herself in a battle against a more powerful opponent than she\u2019s ever faced before.<\/span><\/p>\n

But she seems neither anxious nor unprepared for the conflict.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gabbard\u2019s complaint<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>against the technology giant began after her appearance in the first Democratic debates in June, when the congresswoman\u2019s name was going viral as the most searched on Google.<\/span><\/p>\n

Normally, that would have been the best time for a campaign to purchase ads and promote content to take advantage of the increased curiosity surrounding Gabbard\u2019s campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

But rather than being able to take advantage of that crucial opportunity, Google, for a yet-to-be unexplained reason, had disabled Gabbard\u2019s ability to advertise, rendering her campaign paralyzed and unable to respond to what was happening online.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gabbard immediately\u00a0responded<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. And she did so with fire and gusto.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGoogle\u2019s discriminatory actions against my campaign are reflective of how dangerous their complete dominance over internet search is, and how the increasing dominance of big tech companies over our public discourse threatens our core American values,\u201d she told\u00a0The New York Times<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. \u201cThis is a threat to free speech, fair elections and to our democracy, and I intend to fight back on behalf of all Americans.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The congresswoman\u00a0filed a $50 million lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>against Google.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also released a\u00a0statement<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0in which she went scorched earth on the search engine giant and its Big Tech comrades, calling them \u201ca clear and present danger to our democracy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On Monday, Gabbard\u00a0released a video<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0in which she said those companies are a \u201cdirect threat to our democracy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In the video, she pointed out that Google and other tech giants \u201chave banned voices, who, while controversial and maybe even distasteful, have not incited violence or threatened others.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTheir sole offense,\u201d Gabbard said, \u201cwas expressing a view that these corporations deemed unacceptable. In fact, Google has admitted on several occasions to suspending those who have not violated any of their terms of use.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

That sounds a lot like what conservatives have been saying for the past two years.<\/span><\/p>\n

And Tucker Carlson took notice.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Fox News host invited Gabbard on his show to discuss the recent events and to hear her opinion on the dangers of Google and Big Tech.<\/span><\/p>\n
