The Royal Navy appears to be escorting a British oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz, after Iran threatened to seize a British oil tanker<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in retaliation for Royal Marines from Plymouth boarding and taking control of an Iranian tanker believed to be smuggling oil to Syria<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It comes after British oil tanker British Heritage is reported to have made a U-turn and dropped anchor to avoid approaching Iranian waters<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>with a full cargo, in fear the\u00a0 Iran could attempt to seize.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, ship tracking website Marine Traffic<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/a> shows that British registered oil tanker Pacific Voyager is making her way through the Strait of Hormuz – closely shadowed by an unidentified British warship.<\/span><\/p>\n

Open Source Intelligence gatherer Doge reports: “Pacific Voyager is currently receiving an escort through the Persian Gulf with a Royal Navy frigate (Type 23)”<\/span><\/p>\n
