{"id":188835,"date":"2019-05-25T06:07:11","date_gmt":"2019-05-25T06:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=188835"},"modified":"2019-05-29T05:45:20","modified_gmt":"2019-05-29T05:45:20","slug":"austrians-describe-feeling-like-foreigners-in-their-own-country","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=188835","title":{"rendered":"Austrians Describe \u2018Feeling Like Foreigners\u2019 in Their Own Country"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">Chris Tomlinson \u2013 Breibart May 5, 2019<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/high-levels-immigration.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-38385\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/high-levels-immigration.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"468\" height=\"286\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Hundreds of regular Austrian citizens expressed to a national newspaper their views on migration, with some saying they felt like foreigners in their own country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The comments flooded in, partly in reaction to populist Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/05\/02\/austrian-vice-chancellor-we-fight-against-population-exchange\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>commenting<\/strong><\/span><\/a> on the concept of \u201cpopulation replacement\u201d and in response to an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.krone.at\/1913464\">opinion article<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>in Austria\u2019s largest newspaper <em>Kronen Zeitung<\/em> that agreed that demographic changes are a reality but which criticised Strache\u2019s term for being a \u201cconspiracy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><em>Kronen Zeitung\u00a0<\/em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.krone.at\/1914309\">republished<\/a><\/strong><\/span> some of the \u201chundreds\u201d of responses they received to the column with many readers saying they felt that mass migration had changed Austria to the point where some felt highly alienated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cThe mood in our condominium has deteriorated so much that we (65 and 68) are ready to move away to finally be able to live in peace again,\u201d one comment read, while another lamented the trend of foreigners not learning the German language.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cIn our elementary school out of consideration for foreign cultures no more excursions are made, the diet is adapted to religious wishes, the violence of the foreign elementary school boys is frightening,\u201d one said, while another observed, \u201cForeign-language parents with their children do not bother to speak our language.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Austrian Vice-Chancellor: We Fight Against \u2018Population Exchange\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0OHe7vSOGm\">https:\/\/t.co\/0OHe7vSOGm<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1123905472531181570?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 2, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In at least two Austrian classrooms as of 2017, there are not only a majority of migrant-background pupils but <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2017\/11\/01\/two-austrian-classrooms-100-per-cent-migrant-children\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>no native Austrians<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0at all and few, if any, speak German.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The year before in 2016, an Austrian teacher spoke out about what she labelled a \u201clost generation\u201d of migrant-background children due to the fact many, despite being born in Austria, had <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2016\/03\/18\/austrian-teacher-silenced-after-warning-migrants-are-a-lost-generation\/\">not learnt German<\/a><\/strong><\/span> before entering school, limiting their educational and future job prospects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cOn the streets, in the public transport and the municipal buildings: We feel like foreigners in our home,\u201d another <em>Kronen Zeitung<\/em> reader said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The Austrian newspaper\u2019s readers are not the only ones to express feelings of alienation due to mass migration. In the United States, the\u00a0<em>Washington Post\u00a0<\/em>revealed that working class people were also <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2018\/08\/07\/working-class-americans-isolating-to-be-the-only-english-speaker-on-the-job\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>feeling<\/strong><\/span><\/a> isolated and alienated due to the lack of English-speakers in their workplaces as a result of mass migration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/05\/05\/austrians-describe-feeling-like-foreigners-their-own-country\/\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They are not the only ones.
