Yesterday John Earnest, a 19 year old white supremacist, entered a synagogue in San Diego with an AR-15 style weapon. Inside the synagogue, filled with Sabbath worshipers, he open fire and killed one person<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and wounded three. He fled but later surrendered to police officers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before the attack Earnest uploaded “an open letter<\/a><\/strong><\/span>” with lots of anti-Semitic and homophobic tropes. He published<\/strong><\/span><\/a> the link to the letter on the radical right wing site 8ch.net<\/em>. The open letter is in the question and answer style of an interview:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHow does killing Jews help the European race? The European race is doomed? What are you talking about? These Jews were innocent!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Every Jew is responsible for the meticulously planned genocide of the European race. They act as a unit, and every Jew plays his part to enslave the other races around him\u2014whether consciously or subconsciously. Their crimes are endless. For lying and deceiving the public through their exorbitant role in news media; …<\/span><\/p>\n

The author claims that he set fire on nearby mosque last month and says that he drew inspiration from the terrorist who in March killed some 50 people at two mosques in New Zealand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earnest calls himself a Christian and quotes (evangelical) scripture. There are also a few Q&As about Trump and ‘Conservatives’ (emphasis added):<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAre you a Trump supporter?\u201d<\/span>
\nYou mean that Zionist<\/strong>, Jew-loving<\/strong>, anti-White, traitorous cocksucker<\/strong>? Don\u2019t make me laugh.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAre you affiliated with any political ideology?\u201d<\/span>
\nYes. It\u2019s called not wanting to go extinct.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAre you a conservative?\u201d<\/span>
\nI am not a useless, spineless coward so no\u2014I am not a conservative. Conservative is a misnomer. They conserve nothing. They\u2019ll complain all they want but they won\u2019t take up arms and threaten their government with death (the only thing that works). Ever heard about the Battle of Athens (1946)? Where did John Earnest get these antisemitic and homophobic ideas from?<\/span><\/p>\n

It may well be that Earnest read the New York Times<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n
