Click to enlarge<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The populist leader vowing to \u201cmake Spain great again\u201d has been axed from the only televised debate confirmed ahead of the election later this month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The Atresmedia network was ordered to drop Vox leader Santiago Abascal from its debate after Spain\u2019s Central Election Board ruled his appearance would not be \u201cproportional\u201d to votes cast for the party at elections in 2015, when the then only recently formed party failed to win representation in the national parliament.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Since then however, Vox has enjoyed a huge political breakthrough, becoming the third largest party at elections in Andalucia in December when it <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2018\/12\/02\/right-wing-populist-party-enters-spanish-regional-party-first-time\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>gained<\/strong><\/span><\/a> 11 per cent of the vote and 12 seats \u2014 far outperforming predictions it would win just five seats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Now the party faces being excluded from an election debate for a vote where some polls predict they could finish in third place nationally, potentially becoming an important faction in the Spanish parliament and even a player in a future coalition government.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"de\" dir=\"ltr\">Spain, Top Position poll:<\/p>\n<p>PSOE-S&amp;D: 28% (+4)<br \/>PP-EPP: 22% (-2)<br \/>VOX-ENF: 14% (+12)<br \/>Cs-ALDE: 13% (-9)<br \/>UP-LEFT: 12% (-5)<br \/>ERC-G\/EFA: 3% <br \/>JxCAT-*: 2% <br \/>PNV-ALDE: 1% <\/p>\n<p>+- v. Until April 28.
