Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won a decisive victory yesterday. He is likely to carry on to a fifth term in office.\u00a0As of\u00a0this morning, the right-wing bloc has a clear advantage of 65 seats (out of 120) over the centre\/left parties\u00a0and seems more likely\u00a0to form a coalition.<\/h5>\n
The meaning of yesterday\u2019s election results are obvious and undeniable. The Israeli left is now marginal, verging on non-existent. The Israeli Labour\u00a0party has been\u00a0reduced\u00a0to a\u00a0miniature\u00a0caricature, pretty much the size of Meretz, themselves a\u00a0parody of left thinking. Needless to\u00a0mention\u00a0that these two parties are Zionist to the core. They deny the Palestinian right of return and believe in segregation between Jews and Arabs by means\u00a0of a two-state\u00a0solution.<\/h5>\n
Netanyahu is, beyond doubt, the most sophisticated player in the Israeli political theatre. In the weekend\u00a0he vowed to annex\u00a0the West Bank Settlements. By performing this election ploy,\u00a0he managed to completely obliterate his\u00a0hard-line\u00a0rivals on the right such as Bennett-Shaked\u2019s New Right and even Zehut,\u00a0which promised\u00a0to be a \u2018rising political force.\u2019 As for this morning neither Zehut nor Bennett, who promised his\u00a0voters he would\u00a0be the next Defence Minister, made it to the Knesset. \u00a0Netanyahu has also managed to reduce the USA into a\u00a0subservient colony. \u00a0We saw President Trump working hard for his friend\u00a0in Jerusalem,\u00a0recognising Israeli sovereignty over\u00a0the\u00a0Golan Heights and\u00a0castigating Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps\u00a0as a \u2018terror\u00a0organisation\u2019.\u00a0But most significantly, Netanyahu is also Hamas\u2019s favourite prime minister.<\/h5>\n
Hamas\u00a0knows very well that Israeli centrist government are genocidal in their approach to Arabs and Palestinians in particular.\u00a0Hamas\u00a0remembers Ehud Olmert, Tzipi Livni and\u00a0Ehud Barak. They clearly prefer Bibi. They know very well that Bibi has been anxious to operate in Gaza.\u00a0Hamas\u00a0knows very well that Israel is running out of military and political\u00a0options, let alone solutions to the\u00a0conflict.\u00a0Hamas voted Bibi. It\u00a0entered ceasefire\u00a0negotiations with Israel just a few days before the election.\u00a0There is\u00a0good\u00a0reason to believe\u00a0that\u00a0Hamas\u00a0would prefer\u00a0to deal with Netanyahu rather than with a \u2018centrist\u2019 party led by three war criminals. Hamas won again,\u00a0it has pushed Israel into a state of further paralysis.\u00a0Israel does\u00a0not have a prospect of a future in the region. Israel may not be defeated by Quasam rockets but by its own Ghetto mentality.<\/h5>\n
