<\/a><\/p>\nRussia has warned that the intelligence agencies of France and Belgium – in cooperation with terrorists and “pseudo-humanitarian” volunteers – are preparing to conduct a false flag chemical attack in Syria.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Major General Viktor Kupchishin, the head of\u00a0the Russian Defense Ministry\u2019s Center for Syrian Reconciliation, said on Friday that the “provocation” would be staged in Syria’s terrorist-held Idlib Province to pin the blame on Moscow and Damascus.<\/span><\/p>\n “To organize provocations, representatives of\u00a0the French and Belgian secret services arrived in\u00a0Idlib. Under their supervision, a meeting was held with\u00a0the field commanders of\u00a0the terrorist groups of\u00a0Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Hurras al-Din, as\u00a0well as\u00a0with the representatives of\u00a0the pseudo-humanitarian organization \u2018White helmets\u2019,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n A batch of poisonous gas, believed to be chlorine-based, has already been delivered to a number of Idlib villages, Kupchishin said, adding that the toxic is packed in canisters disguised as oxygen and natural gas tank.<\/span><\/p>\n The plotters, he noted, have discussed filming the chemical attack and re-purposing footage of Russia’s recent airstrikes on terrorists’ arms depots in Idlib.<\/span><\/p>\n “From 14 March to\u00a027 March 2019, the representatives of\u00a0the Belgian secret services recorded strikes on\u00a0video, which the Russian Aerospace Forces targeted at\u00a0terror groups’ arms depots and footholds of\u00a0drones on\u00a0the territory of\u00a0the Idlib de-escalation zone, in\u00a0order to\u00a0subsequently present them as\u00a0an \u2018evidence\u2019 of\u00a0the use of\u00a0chemical weapons,” the Russian general said.<\/span><\/p>\n He further stressed that the\u00a0\u201cactors\u201d of the false flag attack\u00a0have been offered some $100 for playing the roles of chemical victims, warning that the militants may even poison people for real in order to make their video more \u201clifelike.”<\/span><\/p>\n Syrian refugees and families held by\u00a0terrorists could have been forced to\u00a0take part in\u00a0the staged attack, he added.<\/span><\/p>\n Russia has on several occasions warned about false flag chemical weapons attacks in Syria in a bid to justify an ensuing foreign military aggression in the Arab country.<\/span><\/p>\n On April 7, 2018, an alleged chemical weapons attack hit the Damascus suburb town of Douma,\u00a0 just as the Syrian army was about to win the battle against the militants there.<\/span><\/p>\n Western states blamed the Syrian government for the incident, but Damascus firmly rejected the accusation.<\/span><\/p>\n One week after the suspected gas attack, the US, Britain and France launched a coordinated missile strike against sites and research facilities near Damascus and Homs with the purported goal of paralyzing the Syrian government\u2019s capability to produce chemicals.<\/span><\/p>\n This is while Syria surrendered its entire chemical stockpile in 2013 to a mission led by the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the UN.<\/span><\/p>\n
