\"\"<\/a>In a recent thought-provoking article\u00a0Gideon Levy<\/span>,<\/a>\u00a0probably one of the\u00a0last genuine Israeli voices for peace, claims that \u201cIt is not Netanyahu who is responsible for Israeli \u2018racism, extreme nationalism, divisiveness, incitement, hatred, anxiety and corruption.\u2019\u201d Behind Netanyahu, Levy says,\u00a0there\u2019s a nation of\u00a0voters and other elected officials that\u00a0aren\u2019t very different\u00a0from their leader.<\/h5>\n
\u201cSimply put, the people are the problem… There are those who have hated Arabs long before Netanyahu. There are those who despise blacks, detest foreigners, exploit the weak and look down their noses at the whole world \u2013 and not because of Netanyahu. There are those who believe they are the chosen people and therefore deserve everything.\u201d<\/h5>\n
Levy reaffirms the observation\u00a0that I have\u00a0been pushing\u00a0for two decades<\/span>.<\/a>\u00a0The problem with Israel is not of a\u00a0political kind<\/a><\/span>. The conflict with the Palestinians or the Arabs is not of a political nature as\u00a0some delusional characters\u00a0within the Palestinian solidarity movement have been proclaiming\u00a0for years. Israel defines itself as the Jewish\u00a0state. In order to grasp Israel, its politics, its policies and the intrusive nature of its lobby, we must understand the nature of\u00a0Jewishness.<\/em>\u00a0We must learn to define the differences between Jews (the people), Judaism (the religion) and Jewishness (the ideology). We have to understand how those terms are related to each other and how they influence Israeli and Jewish politics globally.<\/h5>\n
Levy writes that \u201cthere are those who think that after\u00a0the Holocaust, they are permitted to do anything. There are those who believe that Israel is tops in the world in every field, that international law doesn\u2019t apply to it, and that no one can tell it what to do. There are those who think Israelis are victims \u2013 always victims, the only victims \u2013 and that the whole world is against us. There are those who are convinced that Israel is allowed to do anything, simply because it can.\u201d<\/h5>\n
In order to understand what Levy is referring to we must dig into the\u00a0core of Jewish\u00a0identification and once and for all grasp the notion of Jewish choseness. Levy contends that \u201cracism and xenophobia are deeply entrenched here, far more deeply than any Netanyahu\u2026The apartheid did not start with him and will not end with his departure; it probably won\u2019t even be dented. One of the most racist nations in the world cannot complain about its prime minister\u2019s racism.\u201d Netanyahu as such,\u00a0is not the disease. He is a mere symptom.<\/h5>\n
The devastating news is that neither the Israeli \u2018Left\u2019 nor the Jewish so-called \u2018anti\u2019 Zionist league are any less racist than their Zionist foes. The Israeli Left pushes for a \u2018two state solution.\u2019 It crudely ignores the Palestinian cause i.e.\u00a0the Right of Return. The Israeli Left advocates\u00a0segregation and ghettoization; not exactly the universal message of harmony\u00a0one would expect from \u2018leftists.\u2019\u00a0Disturbingly, the Diaspora Jewish \u2018anti\u2019 Zionist Left is even more racially exclusive than the Israeli Right. As I have explored many times in the past, Corbyn\u2019s\u00a0\u2018favourite\u00a0Jewish political group\u00a0namely,\u00a0Jewish Voice for Labour (JVL)<\/span>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0is a racially exclusive political cell. It wouldn\u2019t allow gentiles into its Jews-only club.\u00a0Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) is no better. It will happily take donations from Goyim but will never allow those Goyim to become its board members.<\/h5>\n
\u00a0Levy proclaims that \u201cNetanyahu is the best thing to ever happen to Israeli politics \u2013 you can dump everything on him.\u201d\u00a0But in his most astute observation, which has been explored\u00a0before by Uri Avnery\u00a0(may he rest in peace)\u00a0and yours truly, Levy continues, \u201cIt would be great if some local Nelson Mandela would arise, a brave leader with vision who would change the country\u2019s basic values and lead a revolution. But no such person has been born here, and it\u2019s doubtful he ever will be.\u201d<\/h5>\n
Levy points at the core of the Zionist failure. If\u00a0early\u00a0Zionism was a promise to civilise the diaspora Jew by means of \u2018homecoming,\u2019 Israel happened to do the complete opposite.\u00a0Not much is left out of the Zionist promise to make the Jews \u2018people like all other people\u2019: as Israel is about to perpetrate another colossal war crime in Gaza, we have to admit that we are dealing with an institutionally racist and dangerous identity like no other.<\/h5>\n
