Laura Ingalls Wilder, 1867-1957

It takes a paradigm shift to envision, and thus create a world without rulers. Our nature is sovereign (we are born free) and so, obviously, God wants us to be liberated from earthly rulers.

John Michael Perseo is an anarchist-minded truth-seeker living with his wife in an intentional community in Appalachia, where they’re in the process of building their off-grid homestead. John has written a series of articles on spiritual anarchy and recently gave a presentation entitled, Rising Above the Manufactured Civil War in America.

John welcomes comments and questions and is always looking to connect with other freedom-loving individuals. johnmichaelperseo@zoho.com

(Abridged by JMP)

Laura Ingalls Wilder is most famous for her Little House on the Prairie book series, which portrays life with her family on the prairies during the mid to late 1800s. In her book, Little Town on the Prairie, Laura wrote the following words which embody what I call Spiritual Anarchy:

God is America’s king. Americans won’t obey any king on earth. Americans are free. That means they have to obey their own consciences. No king bosses Pa; he has to boss himself. Why (she thought), when I am a little older, Pa and Ma will stop telling me what to do, and there isn’t anyone else who has a right to give me orders. I will have to make myself good.

Her whole mind seemed to be lighted up by that thought. This is what it means to be free. It means you have to be good. “Our father’s God, author of liberty – “. The laws of Nature and of Nature’s God endow you with a right to life and liberty. Then you have to keep the laws of God, for God’s law is the only thing that gives you a right to be free.

Laura’s heightened and evolved level of consciousness is displayed in this quote as she brilliantly lays out eternal truths concerning Sovereignty, Natural Law, the Law of Freedom, and the state of existence known as Spiritual Anarchy.
