However, in the wake of New Zealand\u2019s worst-ever domestic terror attack, a number of important unanswered questions still remain.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">As of Saturday, some 39 people remain hospitalized, 11 of who are still in critical condition in intensive care. A four-year-old child is also said to be in a critical condition and was flown to the children\u2019s Starship hospital in Auckland. According to Christchurch hospital\u2019s chief of surgery, Dr Greg Robertson, many of the victims may require multiple surgeries afterwards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The primary suspect in this anti-Muslim terrorist attack is said to 28 year old <strong>Brenton Harrison Tarrant<\/strong> (image, above), an Australian citizen from New South Wales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Tarrant has since been charged with murder and remanded in custody to appear again on April 5. According to news reports \u2013 he did not enter a plea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">As of Saturday, Police have said they cannot confirm for certain that Tarrant was working alone, but they will likely have some definitive statement on this aspect of the case in the coming days.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Social Media Controversy<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">According to multiple reports, the main perpetrator of the massacre is said to have \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/archive.fo\/aC2FQ\">teased on Twitter<\/a><\/strong><\/span>,\u201d and \u2018announced\u2019 his attack on the message board<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/lulz.com\/christchurch-brenton-tarrant-livestream-2787\/\"><strong> 8chan <\/strong><\/a><\/span>(see image below).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-131157\" src=\"https:\/\/36s81n24kn0c1i9se62v6acw-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/1-8-Chan-Tarrant-1024x578.png\" sizes=\"(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/36s81n24kn0c1i9se62v6acw-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/1-8-Chan-Tarrant-1024x578.png 1024w, https:\/\/36s81n24kn0c1i9se62v6acw-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/1-8-Chan-Tarrant-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/36s81n24kn0c1i9se62v6acw-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/1-8-Chan-Tarrant-768x433.png 768w\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"344\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Brenton Tarrant is said to have authored a 74 page \u2018Manifesto\u2019 which seems to be mix of right-wing rhetoric, anti-immigrant polemics and some self-contradictory commentary about left vs right politics in the US, as well as an ode to various online \u2018Alt-Right\u2019 internet personalities like <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/daverubin\/comments\/b19nn6\/breaking_news_christchurch_mass_murderer_states\/\">Candace Owens <\/a><\/span><\/strong>(he states, in his manifesto, that she had influenced him \u201cabove all\u201d). Most western mainstream media outlets have already classifying his <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/identities\/2019\/3\/15\/18267163\/new-zealand-shooting-christchurch-white-nationalism-racism-language\">manifesto as a document for \u201cwhite nationalism<\/a>,\u201d<\/strong> <\/span>and \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/technology\/archive\/2019\/03\/the-shooters-manifesto-was-designed-to-troll\/585058\/\">meant to troll<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u201d his political opposition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The shooter has also triggered a potential crisis for Silicon Valley when he livestreamed his attack on Facebook (see some clips from his livestream in <em>Nine News<\/em> clip below), where he shot and killed dozens worshipers during Friday prayer at two mosques.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Predictably, this spectacle aspect of the event has prompted calls for <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.recode.net\/2019\/3\/15\/18267048\/new-zealand-attack-facebook-streaming\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">increased regulations<\/span><\/strong><\/a> of video livestreaming on social media, and pressure on companies like Facebook to \u2018do more to stop extremism\u2019 and censor political content. On Friday, <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/uk.reuters.com\/article\/uk-facebook-stocks\/facebook-shares-drop-as-execs-quit-christchurch-live-stream-shooting-stirs-outrage-idUKKCN1QW29W\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Facebook Inc shares plunged 5%<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to their lowest in nearly three months \u2013 at the very same time as a surprise departure by their Chief Product Officer <strong>Chris Cox<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Multiple Perpetrators, Accomplices?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The Washington Post <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2019\/03\/15\/shootings-reported-mosques-christchurch-new-zealand\/\">reported<\/a><\/span><\/strong> that there was in fact a second and third man allegedly involved with the attack, 18-year-old <strong>Daniel John Burrough<\/strong>, who was scheduled to appear in court Saturday and charged with \u201cinciting racial hostility or ill-will.\u201d\u00a0 This same report also states that a third accomplice remained unidentified as of Friday evening, Eastern Time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">However, according to a report by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2019\/mar\/16\/new-zealand-massacre-shooter-intended-to-continue-attack-says-pm\"><em>The Guardian<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/span>, PM Ardern has said the investigation was ongoing but authorities believed there was only \u201cone primary perpetrator\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">CNN\u2019s <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2019\/03\/15\/tech\/new-zealand-shooting-video-facebook-youtube\/index.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>reporting<\/strong><\/span><\/a> on March 15 also clearly indicated there were multiple shooters:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201c<strong>One of the shooters<\/strong> appears to have livestreamed the attack on\u00a0Facebook\u00a0(<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=FB&amp;source=story_quote_link\">FB<\/a><\/strong><\/span>). The disturbing video, which has not been verified by CNN, ran for nearly 17 minutes and purportedly shows the gunman walking into a mosque and opening fire.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Why did CNN report multiple shooters so early in the coverage of this event? If this was <em>not<\/em> the case, and there is only one shooter, then how could a news agency at large and well-resourced as CNN (or any other large outlet for that matter) misreport a detail so crucial to what is clearly the world\u2019s biggest story?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Not just guns in the shooter\u2019s car, but also IED\u2019s as well, one of which was deactivated by police and which was said to be attached to the <strong>\u201c<\/strong><em><strong>suspects\u201d<\/strong> (plural \u2013 according to <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2019\/03\/15\/shootings-reported-mosques-christchurch-new-zealand\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Washington Post<\/strong><\/span><\/a>)<\/em> vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cNew Zealand police said they arrested three people in connection with the shootings. Authorities consider Brenton Harrison Tarrant, an Australian national, the primary suspect.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><strong>UPDATE:<\/strong> According to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NBCNews\/status\/1107017703489830912\">Police<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, 2 other suspects arrested, one man and one woman, appear to not have been involved in the shooting. The female has been released, but the male suspect remains in custody and a possible unrelated charge for unlawful possessing of a firearm. A fourth armed suspected was arrested whilst helping school children to safety. Police do not believe that either of these additional 3 suspects were involved in the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><em>Watch the following report by <\/em><strong><em>Nine News Australia which <\/em><\/strong><em>shows some brief clips from the shooter\u2019s infamous Facebook live stream of his rampage:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/s0pwIQ0mdwM\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Political Outcome: More Gun Control<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Multiple guns are said to have been used in this attack, including two semi-automatic weapons and two shotguns, totally some five different firearms altogether.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In her statement to the press, New Zealand\u2019s Prime Minister <strong>Jacinda Ardern<\/strong> stated that the suspect was \u201cthe offender was in possession of a gun license. I can tell you one thing right now \u2013 our gun laws will change.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Not long after, it was announced that New Zealand will ban semi-automatic weapons. See the full details of New Zealand\u2019s <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2019\/mar\/16\/new-zealand-massacre-shooter-intended-to-continue-attack-says-pm\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">new gun control proposal here<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Parkland Student Flown in from US to Help Agitate for Gun Control<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">As part of the political reaction to the Christchurch Attack,the gun control issue has been elevated again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In July 2018, student activists from the US were deployed to New Zealand to help generate media coverage for gun control issue. Reports state that some 28 students from Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, USA, spent a week with New Zealand\u2019s \u201cStudent Volunteer Army,\u201d which was set up following the Christchurch earthquake in 2011. According to reports, Parkland survivors are coming \u201cto share their experiences of living through a tragedy.\u201d Student Volunteer Army president Josh Blackmore, told <em><a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.radionz.co.nz\/news\/national\/362431\/parkland-shooting-survivors-arrive-in-christchurch\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Morning Report<\/strong><\/span><\/a> that <\/em>the high school students \u2018were inspiring\u2019 and that they were looking forward to welcoming them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">This part of a global effort: \u201cMore than 800 protests were planned throughout the United States and abroad, with solidarity events taking place in Edinburgh, London, Geneva, Sydney and Tokyo.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Why was New Zealand chosen as a venue for the 2018 Parkland campaign?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The Parkland School Shooting took place approximately one year ago in February 2018, numerous students killed and injured. But the tragedy quickly descended into a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/21stcenturywire.com\/2019\/02\/28\/parkland-known-wolves-astroturfing-and-the-politics-of-mass-shootings\/\"><strong>media-driven political campaign with accusations of astroturfing<\/strong><\/a><\/span> with critics accusing Democratic Party operatives and media outlets like CNN and MSNBC of using the students to help register Democratic Party voters for the upcoming 2018 Midterm Elections in the US.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Links to Fascists in Ukraine?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In addition to the confusion about multiple arrests, there are also competing narratives in the media about which extremist camp which protagonist Tarrant belongs to. Most media outlets are framing Tarrant as a \u201c<a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2019\/mar\/15\/christchurch-shooting-new-zealand-suspect-white-supremacist-symbols-weapons\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>White Supremacist<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u201d due to the symbolism which has appeared in a loose collection of extremist writings, internet ranting, free association comments, and images \u2013 in what the media are calling a \u201cmanifesto\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/wikileaks\/status\/1106433578727022593<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Predictably, CNN\u2019s <strong>Don Lemon<\/strong> and <strong>Max Boot<\/strong> were <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/haba.tv\/propaganda-cnn-spends-entire-segment-blaming-trump-for-new-zealand-attacks\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>pinning the blame on Donald Trump<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">His weapon was scrawled with neo-Nazi symbols and the names of white right-wing extremists who had killed others because of their ethnicity or faith. A manifesto released online laid his motivations out to bare: to kill Muslim immigrants. Seven other people were killed at another mosque nearby, bringing the toll of the two attacks to 49 people, a brutal act of terrorism that Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called \u201cone of New Zealand\u2019s darkest days.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">However, a closer look into the symbolism in his paraphernalia reveals a real possibility of <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fort-russ.com\/2019\/03\/flores-new-zealands-christchurch-tragedy-facts-patterns-and-pieces-tell-a-problematic-story\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>connections to right-wing fascist militant groups based in Ukraine<\/strong><\/span><\/a> \u2013 part of the same NeoNazi and fascist movement which was given political and material backing by the <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thenation.com\/article\/americas-collusion-with-neo-nazis\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Obama Administration and John McCain<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in order to help carry out Washington\u2019s <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@gmochannel\/us-staged-a-coup-in-ukraine-brief-history-and-facts-898c6d0007d6\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>violent coup<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in Kiev in February 2014. In this scenario, it\u2019s possible that Tarrant could have been radicalized overseas and also online.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-185327\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Christchurch-ff.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"370\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Christchurch-ff.png 610w, https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Christchurch-ff-300x206.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Apparently, Tarrant also made the reference \u201cFor Rotherham\u201d on his ammunition clips\u00a0(pictured above), a nod to the UK town of which was the sight of the \u2018<a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk-news\/2018\/oct\/29\/rotherham-grooming-gang-seven-men-convicted-of-sexual-offences\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Rotherham Asian Grooming<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u2018 sex abuse scandal, one of the stories championed by infamous British right-wing political actor <strong>Tommy Robinson<\/strong> (real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon). <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2019\/mar\/15\/christchurch-shooting-new-zealand-suspect-white-supremacist-symbols-weapons\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Other references<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to right-wing criminal folklore were also made.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Top ranked US talk radio host <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/images.inquisitr.com\/5344778\/limbaugh-shooter-brenton-tarrant-trump\/\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Rush Limbaugh<\/span><\/strong><\/a> has attempted to flip this theory, claiming that Tarrant is a leftist agitator trying to discredit the right:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><em>\u201cThere\u2019s an ongoing theory that the shooter himself may in fact be a leftist who writes the manifesto and then goes out and performs the deed purposely to smear his political enemies, knowing he\u2019s going to get shot in the process.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Shades of Breivik<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">More than any other single mass shooting or terrorist event in recent years, the Christchurch event closely resembles the <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/21stcenturywire.com\/2011\/07\/27\/mind-control-was-norway-shooter-an-mk-ultra-manchurian-candidate\/\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2011 Norway Massacre<\/span><\/strong><\/a> carried out by right-wing Mason, Templar and Christian Zionist, <strong>Anders Breivik <\/strong>(Note: Breivik was also linked to Tommy Robinson, see <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/news\/news-desk\/anders-breivik-and-the-english-defence-league\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">here<\/span><\/strong><\/a> and <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/home-news\/edl-leader-forced-to-deny-praising-anders-breivik-7640181.html\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">here<\/span><\/strong><\/a>) were he massacred 77 members of Norway\u2019s Young Labour Party at a Workers\u2019 Youth League (AUF) summer camp (Note that Young Labor were dedicated supporters of Palestinian at that time and opposed the Israeli occupation).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Just like Breivik\u2019s 2012 Norway Attack, \u00a0Tarrant\u2019s Christchurch event also featured two separate venues on the same day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In addition, both men are said to have prepared a manifesto before their operations. In Tarrant\u2019s 74-page <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/archive.fo\/MDtR2\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">document<\/span><\/strong><\/a> posted online, he claims to want to create \u201can atmosphere of fear\u201d which would incite Muslims and trigger a right-wing counter-reactions, but then turns to say \u201cCONSERVATISM IS DEAD, THANK GOD.\u201d This is just one of the many nonsensical twists and turns in this seemingly incoherent \u2018manifesto.\u2019\u00a0 The document also pays homage to American <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.charlestoncitypaper.com\/charleston\/fake-news-and-the-miseducation-of-dylann-roof\/Content?oid=6414760\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Dylann Roof<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and other mass shooters, and seemed to infer that Tarrant himself had had received Breivik\u2019s \u201cblessing\u201d for this latest mass shooting and terrorist attack in Christchurch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">As <em>21WIRE<\/em> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/21stcenturywire.com\/2011\/07\/29\/norway-massacre-catalyst-for-realighnment-of-european-right-wing-movements\/\"><strong>reported back in 2011<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, the Norway Massacre was a catalyst for extremist right-wing fascism and \u00a0terrorism, and that future extremists like Tarrant would indeed be inspired by the bravado of Breivik.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">It should be noted also that in the case of Breivik, his initial processing and police interview was held in secret and not recorded, and therefore no public record of what was said can be analyzed. Similarly with the Christchurch Shooting, hearings on the Saturday were held in closed session with Judge Paul Keller denying any open, public access, supposedly \u201cin the interest of safety\u201d \u2014 an unusual move for New Zealand courts.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u2018Unknown\u2019 Wolf?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Many of the high-profile mass shootings and terror attacks in recent years have featured a leading actor who was a <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/21stcenturywire.com\/2017\/06\/04\/known-wolf-uncovered-at-least-one-london-bridge-attacker-familiar-to-anti-terror-police\/\"><strong>\u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">known wolf<\/span>\u201d <\/strong><\/a>\u2013 some one who was already \u2018on the radar\u2019 of the security services as a known extremist or informant, as opposed to a merely a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lone_wolf_(trait)\"><em>lone wolf<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/strong>. This does not appear to be the case in Christchurch. According to reports, authorities in both Australia and New Zealand <strong>did not<\/strong> have Tarrant listed on any counter-terrorism watch list, despite the currently theory that he was planning the attack for several years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/21stcenturywire.com\/2019\/03\/16\/christchurch-terrorist-attack-many-unanswered-questions-remain\/\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Initially there were reports of multiple perpetrators.
