{"id":182978,"date":"2019-01-31T06:09:05","date_gmt":"2019-01-31T06:09:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=182978"},"modified":"2019-02-02T05:35:25","modified_gmt":"2019-02-02T05:35:25","slug":"newsweek-reporter-calls-israel-mossad-chabad-journalisms-third-rail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=182978","title":{"rendered":"Newsweek Reporter Calls \u2018Israel, Mossad, Chabad\u2019 Journalism\u2019s \u2018Third Rail\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"center\">\n<h1>Ben Sales \u2013 The Forward Jan 16, 2019<\/h1>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/feo4hA9Jlic\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">A national politics correspondent for Newsweek, Nina Burleigh, tweeted that Israeli- and Jewish-linked organizations \u2014 along with Israel itself \u2014 are on \u201cthe third rail of American journalism.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The tweet was in response to a thread by author Sarah Kendzior listing several stories she said were \u201cundercovered.\u201d A few of the stories involved President Donald Trump and Chabad, the Hasidic outreach movement; Black Cube, a private intelligence firm that employs former agents of Israel\u2019s Mossad spy agency; and Jeffrey Epstein, a Jewish financier and registered sex offender.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Kendzior asked why \u201cofficials also seem reluctant to investigate or prosecute obvious crimes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cInteresting thread,\u201d Burleigh <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ninaburleigh\/status\/1084924050344996870\">replied<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. \u201cTo answer your final question, Israel, mossad, Chabad and black cube \u2026 you\u2019re hitting the third rail of American journalism, Sarah.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The phrase \u201cthird rail\u201d refers to the untouchable rail on mass transit systems that electrocutes upon touch. Burleigh did not respond to an inquiry from JTA asking her to elaborate on the tweet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Yair Rosenberg, a Tablet magazine writer who tweets about anti-Semitism, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Yair_Rosenberg\/status\/1085162815193866242\">wrote<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>that Burleigh was suggesting that \u201cthe Jews are behind Trump.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Burleigh is no stranger to Jews and Israel. She has reported on the ground from West Bank settlements for Time magazine and also covered the Barack Obama-era peace process.
