The impoverished Council, in an odd interpretation of working for its citizens, hired two partners from one of London\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/off-guardian.org\/2018\/12\/29\/fiasco-in-islington-part-2\/\">most expensive law firms<\/a><\/span> to help them in their crusade against my saxophone.<\/h5>\n<h5>Their action prompted hundreds of complaints and a petition of protest from\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/devon-nola-gmail-com-hands-off-gilad-atzmon\">almost 7000<\/a><\/span>. Despite the backlash, another Labour councillor\u00a0has stepped in to try to ruin my musical career. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.reading.gov.uk\/CllrRachelEden\">Rachel Eden<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>has in the past attempted to interfere with my literature event at Reading Literary Festival,\u00a0organised a protest against me without knowing\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=z6V945giZXI\">who I was and what I stood for<\/a><\/span><\/span>, and is on the Zionist\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.webelieveinisrael.org.uk\/2017\/06\/06\/198-candidates-sign-general-election-pledge-israel\/\">We Believe in Israel<\/a><\/span>\u00a0list of 2016 General Election candidates who pledge their support for Israel.<\/h5>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/z6V945giZXI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h5>Cllr. Eden furthered the campaign to ruin me financially for my political beliefs by sending the following email to the Progress Theatre in Reading:<\/h5>\n<h5>\u00a0From: Rachel Eden Date: Wed, 19 Dec 2018 at 09:25<br \/>\nSubject: progress theatre and an anti-semite<\/h5>\n<h5>Dear xxxx,<br \/>\nHope you&#8217;re well and enjoying the run up to Christmas&#8230;<br \/>\nSorry to email you about something controversial but I suspect that you&#8217;d rather I let you know.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>(the comments in brackets are my own GA)<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nI just wanted to alert you that I am sure inadvertantly\u00a0<strong>(sic)<\/strong>\u00a0Progress has taken a booking from Gilead<strong>\u00a0(sic)<\/strong>\u00a0Atzmon.\u00a0 He&#8217;s not a household name but he is very well known by the Jewish community as an anti-semite, last\u00a0time he came to Reading he claimed that Jerusalem-ites doing mitzvot caused the Grenfell Tower tragedy:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thejc.com\/news\/uk-news\/atzmon-blames-grenfell-tower-tragedy-on-jerusalemites-following-mitzvot-1.447012\">https:\/\/www.thejc.com\/news\/uk-news\/atzmon-blames-grenfell-tower-tragedy-on-jerusalemites-following-mitzvot-1.447012<\/a><strong>\u00a0(GA: If Mrs. Eden had actually bothered to read the JC article, she would have noticed that I emphasise that Jerusalem vs. Athens is not a Jew vs Gentile binary. We do not aim to provide a platform for people to express their personal views on any non-musical subject. We have not received\u00a0complaints of offence being caused at any of our concerts in the fourteen years we have been promoting jazz, despite programming a wide variety of acts and individuals. <strong>In the case of Gilad Atzmon, we\u00a0understand that he has never even been questioned by any law enforcement authority about the allegations to which you refer, let alone convicted.\u201d<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5>\u00a0It would be a blessing for the kingdom if our politicians had the clarity of thinking, ethical stand and respect for free speech displayed by our musical promoters and venues. Apparently, despite Eden\u2019s persistent\u00a0\u00a0harassment of the venue, the promoters held fast against her onslaught.<\/h5>\n<h5>As expected, when it became clear that Cllr. Eden would not be able to stop my concert, the notorious ultra Zionist Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) in accord with its stated goal to ruin anyone it deems a threat to Zion, openly re-joined the effort to rid Britain of my saxophone.<\/h5>\n<h5>Apparently, numerous promoters around the country have received threatening letters from Stephen Silverman, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/chaffordmusic.uk\/\">a \u2018music teacher<\/a>\u2019<\/span> as well as The CAA\u2019s \u2018Director of Investigation and Enforcement.\u2019 A charity is defined as \u201can organisation set up to provide help and raise money for those in need.\u201d I wonder what it is that qualifies an organisation as charitable when instead of helping others it operates to investigate and \u2018enforce\u2019 rules of its own making.<\/h5>\n<h5>Enforcement commissar Silverman\u2019s email is a rehash of their usual list of misleading, misquoted and badly sourced accusations and ends with, what for them is an unusually polite declaration:\u00a0 \u201cIt would, of course, be inappropriate for us to attempt to dictate who appears at your venue, and that is not my intention. The purpose of this letter is merely to provide you and your venue with information of which you may be unaware.\u201d<\/h5>\n<h5>Naturally, Silverman does not actually mean his deferential words. Once a venue replies that it does not intend to accede to the demands of\u00a0Silverman and his klan, Silverman sends a second letter accusing the venue of \u201ctaking side\u201d with haters, in \u201cdereliction of duty\u201d to side with Jews. The email\u00a0ends with a clear threatening note:<\/h5>\n<h5>\u00a0<strong>From:<\/strong>\u00a0stephen.silverman@antixxxxx.uk<\/h5>\n<h5><strong>Sent:<\/strong>\u00a018 January 2019 17:11<br \/>\n<strong>To:<\/strong>\u00a0XXXX<br \/>\n<strong>Cc:<\/strong>\u00a0&#8216;Anthony Orkin&#8217; anthony.orkin@antixxxxx.uk<br \/>\n<strong>Subject:<\/strong>\u00a0RE: Gilad Atzmon<\/h5>\n<h5>Thank you for your reply. On the basis of your response it is clear that,\u00a0<strong>by failing to stand up to antisemitism, you have chosen to side with those who seek to stir up hatred towards this country\u2019s Jewish community<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>Your willingness to turn a blind eye to the activities of this leading antisemite shames you, your board and your arts centre, and is nothing less than a dereliction of duty.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5>There is a vast amount of documented evidence, accumulated over many years, that bears witness to the extent of Gilad Atzmon\u2019s antisemitism. He attempts to shield himself from the consequences of this with a bogus philosophy of his own devising that purports to be critical of \u2018Jewishness\u2019, Jewish politics and Jewish culture rather than of Jews. It is a paper-thin facade that crumbles under even the most cursory scrutiny.<\/h5>\n<h5>This is someone who\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GiladAtzmon\/status\/546722720671875073\">publicly told<\/a><\/span>\u00a0a Jewish man that he detested the Jew in hone <strong>(GA: actually, this was in reply to a tweet that \u201cas a Jew\u201d I should want to kill Arabs. The tweet was from<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gilad.co.uk\/s\/onepoundone-collection.jpg\"><strong> vile hateful character @onepound1<\/strong><\/a><\/span><strong> who was subsequently<\/strong><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gilad.co.uk\/s\/11-closed-account.png\"><strong> banned from twitter<\/strong><\/a><\/span><strong> for hate speech. I didn\u2019t know that @onepound1 is indeed Jewish, perhaps Mr. Silverman is more familiar with this anonymous twitter user and his murderous intent?)<\/strong>\u00a0stated that burning synagogues could be considered a rational act\u00a0<strong>(GA: indeed, as are many violent actions in a war. They are rational not ethical and not desirable. <\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/news\/2005\/apr\/24\/letters.theobserver\"><strong>The Guardian<\/strong><\/a><\/span><strong> published my letter in that regard) <\/strong>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gilad.co.uk\/writings\/holocaust-day-the-time-is-ripe-for-a-jewish-apology.html\">and invited the Jewish people<\/a><\/span>\u00a0to apologise for being so hateful that the world has been forced to persecute them\u00a0<strong>(GA: here\u2019s the <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gilad.co.uk\/writings\/holocaust-day-the-time-is-ripe-for-a-jewish-apology.html\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\">quote in context<\/span>:<\/strong><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gilad.co.uk\/writings\/holocaust-day-the-time-is-ripe-for-a-jewish-apology.html\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0\u201cInstead of constantly blaming the\u00a0<\/strong><em><strong>Goyim<\/strong><\/em><strong>\u00a0for inflicting pain on Jews, it is time for Jews to look in the mirror and try to identify what it is in Jews and their culture that evokes so much fury. However, threatening emails from this specific Jewish charity raise some serious concerns. In August, 2017, after the CAA and Silverman sent similar threatening notes to an Oxford bookshop that refused to acquiesce to their demands, a member of the audience was the victim of a\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gilad.co.uk\/writings\/2017\/8\/7\/first-violent-attack-against-jazz-audience\">vicious physical attack<\/a><\/span>\u00a0that left him with a severe eye injury.\u00a0After the attack, audience members, some of whom were Jewish, responded with angry letters to the CAA, but the British \u2018charitable\u2019 organisation refused to take any responsibility for the attack.<\/h5>\n<h5>Friday night\u2019s concert at the Progress Theatre was a sold out success, in spite of\u00a0Cllr Eden\u2019s campaign\u00a0and CAA\u2019s threatening messages. Last night we performed at the Ropetackle Arts Centre which has received similar threatening emails from Silverman and one <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gilad.co.uk\/writings\/2016\/12\/15\/a-glimpse-into-zionist-trolling-pathology\">Simon Butler<\/a><\/span>, a NYC \u2018CAA\u2019s volunteer.\u2019<\/h5>\n<h5>The Ropetackle Arts Centre responded to the threats as follows:<\/h5>\n<h5>\u00a0\u00a0\u201cThe letter from Mr Silverman has been passed to me in my capacity as chairman of the charity which runs the Ropetackle Arts Centre.<\/h5>\n<h5>\u00a0We recently received a similar request from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gilad.co.uk\/s\/SB.pdf\"><strong>Simon Butler<\/strong><\/a><\/span><strong>.<\/strong> After very careful consideration, we informed him that we were intending to go ahead with the concert. This remains our decision which we do not feel appropriate to explain or justify other than to point out that Gilad Atzmon has performed at our Centre on numerous previous occasion without any complaint.\u201d<\/h5>\n<h5>If the CAA wants to fight antisemitism for real they should consider ceasing their operation tomorrow morning.\u00a0 Their mean spirited attempt to ruin people financially reflects disastrously on them and anyone who is associated with their campaign. The more their operation and its methodology become known, the more likely the public is to believe that their bullying is supported by Jews in general. Such thoughts could lead to a real backlash which is a result antithetical to the goals of those of us who oppose all racism and violence.<\/h5>\n<h5>My battle for truth and freedom involves \u00a0some expensive legal services.
