Click to enlarge<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">A leading immigration think tank has said that the United Kingdom\u2019s adoption of the UN\u2019s migration pact \u201call but violates\u201d the government\u2019s pledge to cut immigration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Last Monday, the UK and 163 other nations <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2018\/12\/10\/divided-un-to-adopt-global-migration-pact\/\">committed<\/a><\/strong><\/span> themselves to the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/undocs.org\/A\/CONF.231\/3\">United Nations\u2019 Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration<\/a><\/strong><\/span> \u2014 the first attempt at the \u201cglobal governance\u201d and institutionalisation of migration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The UK\u2019s delegate at the UN conference in Marrakesh, Morocco, the Foreign Office\u2019s minister of state Alistair Burt <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlistairBurtUK\/status\/1072087940719960065\">heralded<\/a><\/strong><\/span> the compact, claiming it \u201ctackles\u201d illegal immigration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Migration Watch UK fired back at the assertion, saying, \u201cThis is the wrong move. As for our government, by signing up to the Compact, they are all but violating a manifesto promise to reduce immigration\u00a0substantially.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Migration Watch UK outlined in a <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/news.migrationwatch.org.uk\/2018\/11\/27\/signing-united-nations-compact-could-only-undermine-governments-commitment-to-reduce-immigration\">briefing document<\/a> published late November that the UN\u2019s pledge \u201cwould stand in direct contradiction to the government\u2019s three election manifesto commitments to reduce the level of net migration from the current 270,000 per year to less than 100,000.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The document added, \u201cThe Compact appears to have been drafted by diplomats whose aim seems to be to \u2018normalise\u2019 mass immigration from the developing world to the West at a time when the public are very clear that they find the scale and pace of such flows to be unsustainable and unacceptable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cThe Government needs to reconnect with voters and demonstrate that they are serious about honouring their election promise.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Great to have <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlistairBurtUK?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@AlistairBurtUK<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Marrakesh?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Marrakesh<\/a> to announce UK support for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/GlobalCompactForMigration?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#GlobalCompactForMigration<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/louise_arbour?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@louise_arbour<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4Bzg3JM9AO\">pic.twitter.com\/4Bzg3JM9AO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Tim Cole ?
