Click to enlarge<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Activist health professionals have sounded the alarm over the situation in Calais, where Doctors of the World claim three-quarters of the 500 migrants living in the hope of breaking into Britain are suffering from mental illness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">France Culture said the northern port town was facing a \u201cpublic health emergency\u201d, in a report Wednesday which marked two years since the dismantling of the so-called Jungle camp saw almost 6,500 migrants moved to asylum centres scattered across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Despite ongoing efforts by authorities to clear the area of illegal immigrants, whose desperate and violent attempts to reach the UK have resulted in the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/london\/2017\/06\/20\/driver-death-calais-migrants-tree-trunks\/\">death<\/a><\/strong><\/span> of at least one driver and the wounding of several police officers, between 450 to 500 would-be illegal migrants are still living in Calais, the public broadcaster <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.franceculture.fr\/emissions\/le-reportage-de-la-redaction\/sante-mentale-des-migrants-la-grande-oubliee\">reports<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Doctors of the World, whose volunteers hold regular mobile clinics for illegal immigrants in the areas of France in which they congregate, estimated that three in four of those in Calais and the 1,800 who lived at the Dunkirk-based Grande-Synthe camp \u2014 which was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telesurtv.net\/english\/news\/France-1800-Evicted-from-Camp-in-Humanitarian-Clean-out-20181024-0004.html\">dismantled<\/a><\/strong><\/span> Tuesday \u2014 suffer from serious mental health problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">On <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/UNDay?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#UNDay<\/a>, support refugees on the Croatia\/Bosnia border. Text DOCTOR to 70660 to donate \u00a310. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Q13kZhXDQq\">pic.twitter.com\/Q13kZhXDQq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Doctors of the World (@DOTW_UK) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DOTW_UK\/status\/1055163269491707911?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 24, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">A report by the open borders-backing NGO and France\u2019s Primo Levi Centre revealed the most common conditions amongst immigrants residing illegally in the EU nation were psycho-traumatic syndromes, constituting 64 percent of mental conditions diagnosed between 2012 and 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In addition to having suffered \u201cextremely painful\u201d circumstances in their homelands, and experienced \u201ctraumatic events\u201d in the course of migrating to Europe, the mental health of asylum seekers is \u201cdegraded\u201d further still upon their arrival in France, where problems are worsened as they face \u201crejection\u201d and authorities \u201cquestioning their word\u201d with regards to the hardships they have faced, according to the report.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Memory and concentration loss affecting illegal immigrants\u2019 ability to recount their journey to France and the reasons they are seeking asylum is cited as a \u201cdisabling\u201d psychotraumatic symptom in the report, which claims the demands of the asylum registration process \u201cincreases [migrants\u2019] suffering\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cThe violence to which exiles have been exposed, themselves or as witnesses, has long-term effects, not only on them but also on future generations,\u201d asserts the report, claiming migrants are often suffering from \u201cthe transgenerational effects of psychotrauma\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Calais: Migrants Smash Through Car Window, Attack Women Inside with Makeshift Wooden Weapons  <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3jk3mqAIqb\">https:\/\/t.co\/3jk3mqAIqb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1024369104159891456?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 31, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">To this end, the NGOs recommended that authorities \u201ctake into account the degraded mental state and the extreme vulnerability\u201d of illegal immigrants \u201cin the context of narratives for the right to protection\u201d, especially when assessing the claims of \u201cunaccompanied children and adolescents\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In order to solve the \u201cpublic health emergency\u201d of mental illness rates amongst the illegal immigrant population in France, the state should provide \u201cimmediate and unconditional shelter\u201d to asylum seekers along with full entitlement to healthcare, according to the document, which neglects to examine the effect such measures would have on the number of people choosing to embark on the dangerous journey to Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">In addition to condemning alleged \u201cpolice violence\u201d against migrants in France for having a \u201cmajor\u201d mental health impact, the report warns that rejecting an asylum application constitutes \u201cone of the most devastating\u201d forms of \u201cstate violence\u201d against illegal immigrants as the move \u201cplunges the person into a process of dehumanisation\u201d, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff;
