\"protocols2\"<\/a>The following Guardian article only confirms how the corporate media is now being used to propagate myths and outright lies.<\/h5>\n
In this particular case the Guardian claims that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a “fraudulent document”. In this the Guardian echoes allegations that the Elders is an anti-Semitic forgery, claims that have been used to discredit the Protocols ever since they first appeared.<\/h5>\n
However, that don’t change the fact that subsequent developments have only served to validate claims made in the Protocols.<\/h5>\n
Purportedly a document that outlines the strategy for world domination the Protocols lists<\/a><\/span> among its aims the replacement of religion with materialism. One only has to look at our consumer society, where we are constantly urged to earn, spend and buy more and where the number of churchgoers is in decline, to see how this has become a modern fact of life.<\/h5>\n
Indeed, although the Protocols was first widely publicised nearly a century ago and its language is somewhat dated its chapter headings<\/a><\/span> alone seem to prefigure more modern developments. These include: “world wars” (plural, before WWII was even considered a possibility), “brainwashing”, “control of the press” (media) and “Re-education”.<\/h5>\n
Pointedly the Guardian omits any mention of the contents of this supposed “fraudulent document”. Nor does even link to it. To do so would enable readers to judge for themselves and expose the highly questionable nature of the Guardian’s claims.<\/h5>\n
Despite the Guardian’s claims to the contrary, no one has ever conclusively proved that the Protocols were “a fraud”. Certainly, there have been many who have tried to have the document dismissed as such, if only because its content was so embarrassing for the powers that be.<\/h5>\n
Nonetheless, a careful study of the document reveals how much of what it outlined nearly a century ago has indeed come to pass. The fact that the Guardian doesn’t offer any link to the document<\/a><\/span> itself is a final damming indictment of its assessment. To do so would allow readers to judge for themselves and thereby expose the Guardian’s characterisation of the Protocols as the real fraud.<\/h5>\n
So the real question is not whether the Protocols are an “anti-Semitic forgery” but whether the developments it outlines have come to pass? And the answer is an emphatic yes. Ed.<\/h5>\n

Polish defence minister condemned over Jewish conspiracy theory<\/h1>\n

Poland\u2019s newly appointed defence minister has been condemned for entertaining the possibility that a fraudulent document claiming to show there is a Jewish plan for world domination may be real.<\/span><\/p>\n

Antoni Macierewicz is one of a number of controversial appointments the rightwing Law and Justice party made on Monday after securing an absolute majority<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>for the first time in the country\u2019s general election.<\/span><\/p>\n

His appointment could complicate Poland\u2019s relations with Nato<\/a> and EU allies as they seek to contain Russia. It could also prove difficult for David Cameron, whose European Conservatives and Reformists group is propped up by Law and Justice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Macierewicz told listeners to Radio Maryja in 2002 that he had read Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a pamphlet that purports to be a Jewish plan to control the global economy and media, but which has been exposed as a hoax.<\/span><\/p>\n

He acknowledged there was debate about the pamphlet\u2019s authenticity, but told a listener: \u201cExperience shows that there are such groups in Jewish circles.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

His words have been widely condemned by anti-racist campaigners in Poland<\/a>. Rafa\u0142 Pankowski, who wrote about Macierewicz\u2019s appearance on the radio show in a book about Poland\u2019s far right, said: \u201cHe is well known for his divisive, radical style of politics, which is rooted in the nationalist identity discourse of Radio Maryja.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe political culture of Law and Justice seems strongly influenced by such discourse. It is a sad time for Polish and European democracy if the promotion of conspiracy theories is rewarded with high-level appointments.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

A former member of Poland\u2019s anti-communist opposition movement and deputy defence minister, Macierewicz is known for his efforts to purge the country\u2019s military intelligence services of communist and Russian influence.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the early 1990s, he led a search for communists among former Solidarity leaders, accusing them of having worked for the secret police. He even accused the union\u2019s founder, Lech Wa\u0142\u0119sa, of being a spy known as Agent Bolek, but his claims could not be proven.<\/span><\/p>\n

More recently, he has been the main champion of a theory that a plane crash that killed 96 Poles in 2010, including the Polish president,<\/strong> was assassination orchestrated by Russia, rather than an accident as official investigations found.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe government headed by [Russia\u2019s then prime minister Vladimir] Putin is fully responsible for this tragedy,\u201d he told the European Parliament in March.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt may be said that it was the first salvo in a war which today is going on in the east of Europe<\/a>, and which is ever more dramatically nearing EU and Nato borders.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Russian government blamed pilot error, and Polish investigators have said airport crew were also responsible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Macierewicz\u2019s incendiary language may concern diplomats in Brussels already wary about the victory of the nationalist and Eurosceptic Law and Justice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Protocols of the Elders of Zion was supposed to have been first published in Russia in the 1900s, translated into various languages and disseminated internationally in the early 20th century.<\/span><\/p>\n

It claimed to be the minutes of a late 19th-century meeting of Jewish leaders, in which they discussed their goal of a global plan to subvert the morals of gentiles and control the press and the global economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Journalists and historians exposed it as a fraud in the 1920s, showing it to contain chunks of text lifted from other books. It was nonetheless studied in German classrooms after the Nazis came to power in 1933.<\/span><\/p>\n

Law and Justice became the first party in post-communist Poland to win an absolute majority in parliament, giving it unprecedented control over policy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Its return to power brings back the former prime minister Jaros\u0142aw Kaczy\u0144ski, whose government annoyed European allies with anti-EU rhetoric between 2005 and 2007.<\/span><\/p>\n

Law and Justice did not respond to the Guardian\u2019s request for a comment.<\/span><\/p>\n
