{"id":178726,"date":"2018-11-07T05:57:43","date_gmt":"2018-11-07T05:57:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=178726"},"modified":"2018-11-09T06:16:52","modified_gmt":"2018-11-09T06:16:52","slug":"hollywood-stars-raise-record-60m-for-israeli-army","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=178726","title":{"rendered":"Hollywood Stars Raise Record $60m for Israeli Army"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">Palestine Chronicle &#8212; Nov 6, 2018<\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Hollywood celebrities raised a record-breaking $60 million for the Israeli military at the Friends of the Israel Defence Forces (FIDF)\u00a0annual gala last week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">This year\u2019s sold-out Western Region event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel welcomed more than 1,200 supporters of Israel, including prominent actors and singers like Ashton Kutcher, Pharrell Williams, Gerard Butler, and Katharine McPhee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/MissAbsinthe\/status\/1059857208802824194<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">FIDF National Board Member and Chairman of the event, Haim Saban, said:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cWe are thrilled that so many members of our community, including major Hollywood figures, are coming together to help us support the brave men and women of the [Israeli army]. In 2015 the gala raised $31 million, half of this year\u2019s total.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Last month, the FIDF\u2019s New York event raised $32 million for members of Israel\u2019s occupation forces, attended by many of the city\u2019s most prominent business people and philanthropists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/MissAbsinthe\/status\/1059540409884409856<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Among the biggest donors to the gala were Or Lachayal \u2013 an organization which\u00a0works\u00a0to \u201cstrengthen the Jewish identity of the Israeli army\u201d \u2013 which pledged $2.5 million and Nefesh B\u2019Nefesh \u2013 which promotes Jewish immigration to Israel \u2013 which pledged $1.3 million.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Support for the army from US organizations and the US government has been a cornerstone of Israel\u2019s ability to continue its ongoing occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
