{"id":176998,"date":"2018-09-29T14:59:11","date_gmt":"2018-09-29T14:59:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=176998"},"modified":"2018-10-02T05:21:23","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T05:21:23","slug":"7-palestinians-killed-over-500-injured-in-clashes-with-israeli-soldiers-in-gaza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=176998","title":{"rendered":"7 Palestinians killed, over 500 injured in clashes with Israeli soldiers in Gaza"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"center\">\n<h1>Press TV &#8212; Sept 28, 2018<\/h1>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yuuwQIZB1k4?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><strong>At least seven\u00a0Palestinians have lost their lives and over five hundred more sustained injuries when Israeli military forces opened fire on a group of protesters participating in anti-occupation rallies along the border between the besieged Gaza Strip and Israeli-occupied territories.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The Gaza Ministry of Health said in a statement that 14-year-old Mohammed Nayef al-Houm was fatally shot in the chest during\u00a0\u201cThe Great March of Return\u201d protests east of Bureij refugee camp on Friday evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The statement added that 18-year-old Iyad Khalil Ahmed al-Shaer and Mohammed Bassam Shakhseh, 24, were shot dead east of Gaza City.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Four others were later identified as 24-year-old Mohamed Waleed Haniyeh, Nasser Azmi Musbah, 12, 18-year-old Mohammed Ali Anshasi and\u00a0Mohammed Ashraf Awawdeh, 23.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Another 506 protesters were also injured. A total of 210 demonstrators were admitted to hospitals and medical centers across Gaza Strip to receive medical treatment. Ninety people were struck with live bullets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Thirty-five\u00a0children, four women, four\u00a0medics and two\u00a0journalists were among the injured Palestinians.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">A minor and a young man were taken to hospital in critical condition. Click to enlarge<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The Gaza\u00a0clashes\u00a0reached their peak on May 14, on the eve of the 70th anniversary of Nakba\u00a0Day (Day of Catastrophe), which coincided this year with the US embassy relocation from Tel Aviv to occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">On June 13, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution, sponsored by Turkey and Algeria, condemning Israel for Palestinian civilian deaths in the Gaza Strip.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The resolution, which had been put forward on behalf of Arab and Muslim countries, garnered a strong majority of 120 votes in the 193-member assembly, with 8 votes against and 45 abstentions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The resolution called on UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to make proposals within 60 days \u201con ways and means for ensuring the safety, protection, and well-being of the Palestinian civilian population under Israeli occupation,\u201d including \u201crecommendations regarding an international protection mechanism.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">It also called for \u201cimmediate steps towards ending the closure and the restrictions imposed by Israel on movement and access into and out of the Gaza Strip.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.presstv.com\/Detail\/2018\/09\/28\/575478\/3-Palestinians-killed-nearly-270-injured-in-clashes-with-Israeli-soldiers-in-Gaza\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the correspondent who sent this in asked: why isn&#8217;t this being reported in the Western media?
