{"id":14839,"date":"2010-11-16T17:43:39","date_gmt":"2010-11-16T17:43:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=14839"},"modified":"2013-06-15T06:52:11","modified_gmt":"2013-06-15T06:52:11","slug":"the-phantom-image-of-khan-and-the-movable-crater","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=14839","title":{"rendered":"The Phantom Image of Khan and the Movable Crater"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">How the Inquest struggled to keep the lid on their Edgware Road story (To see <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/terroronthetube.co.uk\/latest-77-articles-3\/the-phantom-image-of-khan-and-the-moveable-crater\/\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">original article click here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Nick Kollerstrom \u2013 Terror on the Tube November 16, 2010<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">The hole that moved<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\"> Over the years, the position of a huge hole in the floor of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> carriage on an Edgware Road Circle line train, on the morning of July 7<sup>th<\/sup>, has seemed a mystery. It could apparently move about between the first and second set of double doors. Here is a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/rachelnorthlondon.blogspot.com\/2006\/09\/77-cctv-question.html\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">letter from the Home Secretary<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\"> John Reid to a group of Edgware Road survivors, putting it by the first set:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">My officials have made enquiries of the Metropolitan Police. The police have confirmed that the wording of the Official Account accurately reflects their initial conclusions following statements they took from witnesses and their early examination of the scene. This shows that the bomb probably exploded near to the first set of doors. But where <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">exactly<\/span> the bomb exploded has yet to be established. The police are currently awaiting the final report from the Forensic Explosives Laboratory. This will be vital in determining the precise location of the bomb at the time of its detonation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">They were waiting for a\u00a0\u2019final report\u2019 from the Forensic Explosives Laboratory was required \u2013 to tell where the hole was! \u00a0You couldn\u2019t make it up. There is no hint here that anyone would be able to look at the remains of the coach \u2013 <strong>the primary scene of the crime<\/strong> \u2013 and ascertain where a <strong>huge crater<\/strong> was located. (1)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">This was also the view of the Government\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.official-documents.gov.uk\/document\/hc0506\/hc10\/1087\/1087.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Official Report of 2006<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">, that the blast had been by the<em> first<\/em> set of double doors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">We are reminded of the Piccadilly line coach near Russell Square, where the Met first placed the blast centre by the first set of double doors (near the driver), then Rachel North started blogging away, averring that she had been standing right there and it wasn\u2019t there. So, they <em>moved the bomb location<\/em> over to the second set of double doors. (2)\u00a0One might naively suppose that the blast location in a ruined coach was a fairly straightforward thing to ascertain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Maybe the Met\u2019s \u2018Operation Theseus\u2019 (for investigating 7\/7) is taking too far the words of the Lord, \u2018Let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Inquest<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">At the 7\/7 Inquest in November 2010 the curtain was at last drawn back to reveal (drum roll) the position of the big crater \u2013 it was at one side of the space between the <em>second<\/em> set of double doors, the side <em>away<\/em> from the driver. It cannot be moved any more because of the eminence of professor Tulloch, the Australian media studies professor, who was sitting right next to it. The Inquest did rather garble-up his account of where he was sitting \u2013 for a reason we will come to. The Met gave <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/7julyinquests.independent.gov.uk\/evidence\/docs\/INQ10282-8.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">a diagram to the Inquest<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">, that clearly showed where the hole was:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Number 10 is \u2018Khan\u2019, number 13 is Daniel\u00a0Biddle, number 16 is John Tulloch. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Other holes were reported too, as one would expect from a blast that came from beneath, but not as big as the huge crater. Witnesses alluded to these other holes, but they aren\u2019t\u00a0part of our story. (3)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">\u2018Seeing Khan\u2019<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Khan is absent from <em>any <\/em>witness statements<em> or<\/em> CCTV images \u2013 for London or Luton \u2013 on that day, with one sole exception, as is becoming glaringly obvious from the present Inquest. The authorities have <em>only one testimony<\/em> that puts him in London \u2013 or indeed anywhere else \u2013 on that morning, to which we now turn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Mr Daniel Biddle has given enormously <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.officialconfusion.com\/77\/witnesses\/biddle.html\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">divergent accounts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\"> to different newspapers, as to how he \u2018saw Khan\u2019 in the carriage \u2013 hardly surprising, considering the way he lost both legs and an eye, due to standing right next to what became the big crater, then being smashed out through the door onto the outer tube wall, spending two months in a coma in a hospital, where he teetered in between life and death\u00a0<em>and<\/em> viewed the posthumous \u2018Khan\u2019 jihad video from a hospital bed \u2013 before making any public statement. (4)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">His first statement to <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/news\/tm_objectid=16167609&amp;method=full&amp;siteid=115875&amp;headline=tube-bomber-stared-me-straight-in-the-eyes-as-he-set-off-the-explosion-that-blew-my-legs-away-name_page.html\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\"><em>The Mirror<\/em> <\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">had Khan sitting down on one of the four seats between the two sets of double doors, ten feet away from Mr Biddle, with a rucksack on his lap. He made eye-contact with Biddle just before his rucksack blew up. Then the next two interviews, with <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.timesonline.co.uk\/tol\/life_and_style\/article596934.ece\"><em><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">The Times <\/span><\/em><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">(December) and <em>Guardian<\/em> (January) had Khan standing <em>packed right next to him<\/em> in the crowd, with his rucksack on his back and making eye contact just before \u2018pulling the cord.\u2019 Clearly that \u2018memory\u2019 is an expression of his primary awareness of where the bomb went off \u2013 that blew his legs off. My guess is, he agreed to take part in the Inquest on condition that these accounts were not attended to. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/news\/top-stories\/2010\/11\/09\/tube-survivor-daniel-biddle-tells-7-7-inquest-how-he-stood-6ft-away-from-bomber-115875-22703134\/\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">At the Inquest <\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Biddle comes back to his initial <em>Mirror<\/em> story (except, that there is no longer any eye-contact). He answered \u2018Yes\u2019 when asked, would he confirm the distance of ten feet away? (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/7julyinquests.independent.gov.uk\/hearing_transcripts\/08112010am.htm\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Nov 8 am\u00a0 42:23<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">) So, inexorably, the police had to place Khan where Biddle said he was (Number \u201810\u2019 in the figure). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\"> We are surprised that the Inquest did not break out laughing, at the extreme absurdity of the position, whereby \u2018Khan\u2019 is sitting nowhere near the blast epicentre, in fact a good ten feet away from it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">The person Biddle testifies to seeing cannot possibly be Khan:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">there was nothing about him that made me think he was dangerous in any way \u2026 he looked like a normal guy going to work within London, whatever he did, and there was nothing that he did that made him stand out different to anybody else at that particular moment in time. (Nov. 8, 30:18-25)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Khan was wearing a white baseball cap according to the (highly dubious) CCTV from Luton, and maybe from King\u2019s Cross \u2013 no way could he resemble an ordinary commuter. But that hardly mattered, given the amnesiac and credulous attitude of the British media towards the 7\/7 story that is drip-fed to them by the Met.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Biddle will \u2018recall\u2019 Khan moving his hands over his rucksack just before the blast \u2013 and that will do. Never mind the various police judgements that the rucksack had to be on the floor; or that no-one else in the carriage noticed him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Two people who had sat directly opposite where Khan was placed did give Inquest testimony, but why were they not\u00a0asked whether they saw Khan? It seems unlikely that no-one else was sitting on that row of four chairs where Khan is located, given that five or six persons are here shown standing up in the adjacent space between the double doors. We must wonder if the Met would\u00a0be reluctant to produce\u00a0witnesses who had been sitting there, who (a) would not recall Khan, and (b) have no injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Obfuscation <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">The Court responded to this impossible dilemma by\u00a0obfuscating the positions of persons in the coach, especially Tulloch. It did this be having two diagrams of the coach: one\u00a0with seats numbered consecutively, and the other which numbered people\u00a0in the coach. (5) They needed some way of\u00a0distinguishing seat-numbers from person-numbers. Eg, Tulloch was person 16 in <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/7julyinquests.independent.gov.uk\/evidence\/docs\/INQ10282-8.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">one diagram<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">,\u00a0sitting in seat number 7 in <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/7julyinquests.independent.gov.uk\/evidence\/docs\/INQ10282-9.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">the other<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">. That shouldn\u2019t have been too hard. But, more than one barrister kept alluding to him as sitting in seat number 16, and so forth, and deep confusion resulted \u2013 I suspect that not many people browsing the Inquest-transcript (of November 8th, afternoon session) are going to follow what was going on. But, Tulloch did\u00a0clearly identify his seat, as the one right next to the space by the double-doors, and\u00a0he did locate the crater as being in front of him and immediately to his right. (6)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">While perusing the two diagrams, notice that one fellow numbered as \u20189\u2019 near the blast was killed by it <em>and<\/em> hurled right over to the other side of the first set of double doors. He crumpled up in the corner by the door. That body flew straight past the seat where Khan was allegedly sitting!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">We note how the positions of the six or seven dead bodies at the moment of blast, as reconstructed by the Met, are clustered around a centre. That is the centre of the space between the second sets of double doors, very close to the blast location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">The Inquest should summon John Reid, to explain how he could have given the information as Home Secretary that the crater was by the first set of double doors. Was it because, it was near to where they believed that Biddle was placing Khan in his first testimony?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Conclusion <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">The Inquest should review evidence that the coach was lifted up from the rails by the mighty power of a blast below the coach, as described by the early testimony of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/terroronthetube.co.uk\/latest-77-articles-3\/the-phantom-image-of-khan-and-the-moveable-crater\/www.bilderberg.org\/edgrd.doc\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Guardian journalist Mark Hogenbaum<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">passengers had just left Edgware Road when <strong>they heard a massive explosion under the carriage of the train\u2019<\/strong> he explained, which had caused all this mayhem. Just as their train left for Paddington, passengers felt the blast as \u2018<strong>tiles and covers on the floor of the train suddenly flew up,<\/strong> and then, the next thing they knew, there was an almighty crash which they now believe was from a train opposite hitting their <strong>train which had been derailed by the explosion<\/strong>. Then everything went black..<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">We must surely feel glad that Mr Biddle has come through with a fairly optimistic outlook after the unspeakable horror he has been through. But, as regards how he lost his limbs, the following <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/kevboyle.blogspot.com\/2010\/10\/77-inquests.html\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">comment from blogger \u2018Jim\u2019 <\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">may be relevant:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Many of the survivors on the trains lost their lower limbs meaning the blast most likely came from underneath. This is probably the reason more people were not killed because the vector of the blast wave was partially dispersed by the floor of the train.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">References<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">1\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 The best account of the hole in the Edgware Road train comes from \u2018John\u2019 given to the London Assembly back in 2006,\u00a0who actually <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/terroronthetube.co.uk\/latest-77-articles-3\/the-phantom-image-of-khan-and-the-moveable-crater\/www.bilderberg.org\/edgrd.doc\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">fell into it.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One week after the event, the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/cms.met.police.uk\/news\/major_operational_announcements\/terrorist_attacks\/one_week_anniversary_bombings_appeal\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Met placed the bomb-crater<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\"> of the Piccadilly Line train in the first carriage by the first set of double doors, and has\u00a0stuck with that story; while <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/spl\/hi\/uk\/05\/london_blasts\/what_happened\/html\/russell_sq.stm\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">the BBC<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\"> (and\u00a0the Official Report) moved it to the 2nd set of double doors. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Other holes:\u00a0Hugo Keith explained to Prof. Tulloch (40:15-20) \u2018We have heard evidence from some witnesses which suggests that there\u2019s other disruption and potentially other holes in the floor as well as the bomb crater, so it may in fact be a different hole that you\u2019re referring to\u2019. See eg testimony of Mr Hay, (Nov. 11, 9:15-18)\u00a0 \u2018All the manholes in the bottom of the carriage were blown out..\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">4\u00a0\u00a0 \u2018It can be inferred that there is no definitive account from Danny Biddle. His position and Khan\u2019s position in the train seem to alter each time he tells his story\u2019 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u2019<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.officialconfusion.com\/77\/witnesses\/biddle.html\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">Official Confusion<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">\u2018 website.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">5\u00a0\u00a0 The <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/7julyinquests.independent.gov.uk\/evidence\/docs\/INQ10282-9.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">diagram which gives <\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">consecutive seat numbers, also gives the positions of bodies after the blast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c5c5c5;\">6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0There is\u00a0a sub-plot about whether Prof. Tulloch ever \u2018saw Khan\u2019 \u2013 which would be tricky as he was sitting on the <em>other side<\/em> of the blast-crater about fifteen feet away from \u2018Khan.\u2019 In an early interview he said: \u2018I don\u2019t know if I did see him\u2026I\u2019m still not sure.\u2019 (<em>The Sunday Telegraph <\/em>Australia 10<sup>th<\/sup> July, no longer online).
