{"id":133948,"date":"2016-06-01T05:40:16","date_gmt":"2016-06-01T05:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=133948"},"modified":"2016-06-03T06:20:44","modified_gmt":"2016-06-03T06:20:44","slug":"jesus-christ-would-be-banned-from-speaking-at-universities-if-he-was-alive-in-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=133948","title":{"rendered":"Jesus Christ would be BANNED from speaking at universities if he was alive in 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">Mark Duell &#8212; Daily Mail May 31, 2016<\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Jesus Christ would be banned from speaking at universities if he was alive in 2016 along with other &#8216;non-violent extremists&#8217;, a leading Oxford professor warned yesterday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Professor Timothy Garton Ash complained that Britain has become \u2018too feeble\u2019 at supporting free speech and insisted that the public must stand up against self-censorship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The European Studies expert told the Hay Festival in Powys, Wales, that UK universities are now encouraged by Home Office legislation to block even non-violent extremists from appearing on site<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">And 60-year-old Mr Ash said this could have included leading thinkers of centuries past such as Karl Marx, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Charles Darwin, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel and even Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">According to <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2016\/05\/30\/jesus-christ-would-be-banned-from-uk-universities-today-oxford-p\/\"><strong>Daily Telegraph<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0reporter Hannah Furness, Mr Ash said: \u2018In the new counter-terrorism legislation, the securocrats in the Home Office are trying to impose on universities a so-called prevent duty, which would call on us to prevent event non-violent extremists speaking on campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u2018Now, non-violent extremists? That&#8217;s Karl Marx, Rousseau, Charles Darwin, Hegel, and most clearly Jesus Christ, who was definitely a non-violent extremist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u2018The Home Office wouldn&#8217;t want him preaching on campus.
