Thanks to Barack Obama, the term “American exceptionalism” came into vogue. <\/strong>This doctrine holds that\u00a0the United States is unique in the annals of history, and therefore is immune from normal moral or rational standards (because it defines them according to its own interests.)\u00a0 Donald Trump seems to be operating on this basis.<\/p>\n
