{"id":123410,"date":"2015-10-23T07:18:43","date_gmt":"2015-10-23T07:18:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=123410"},"modified":"2015-10-25T10:33:41","modified_gmt":"2015-10-25T10:33:41","slug":"total-blackout-of-fukushima-truth-by-u-s-media-sailors-suffer-and-die-while-denial-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=123410","title":{"rendered":"Total blackout of Fukushima truth by U.S. media; sailors suffer and die while denial continues"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">JD Heyes &#8212; Natural News Oct 21, 2015<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Fukushima-Japan-Nuclear-Radiation-Disaster.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-68539\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Fukushima-Japan-Nuclear-Radiation-Disaster.jpg\" alt=\"Fukushima-Japan-Nuclear-Radiation-Disaster\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a>Nearly four years after a major tsunami created the massive tidal wave that destroyed much of Japan&#8217;s Fukushima nuclear power complex in the northern part of the country, spewing radioactive waste into the air and surrounding Pacific Ocean, the truth about the after-effects of that disaster continue to reside in the shadows.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">For example, one of the most under-reported stories of all pertaining to the disaster &#8212; and one that should be of particular interest to Americans &#8212; is the fate of a number of crewmembers aboard the USS <i>Ronald Reagan<\/i>, the U.S. Navy carrier sent to assist Japanese military and civilian authorities in the immediate aftermath of the quake.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">According to German magazine <i>Der Spiegel<\/i>, the <i>Reagan <\/i>had been dispatched to the Fukushima site the day of the disaster, March 11, 2011, and the massive warship with its 4,500 officers and crew reached the area the next day, anchoring just north of Sendai, where it remained on station for several weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><b>&#8220;<\/b>I&#8217;ve removed six thyroid glands&#8221;<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Under the mission codename of &#8220;Tomodachi,&#8221; which means, &#8220;friends,&#8221; the warship and its crew provided relief and assistance, as Japanese authorities and military units struggled to contain fires and radioactive waste. In the end, four of the six Tokyo Electric Power Company-owned reactors were damaged, three heavily, and ground crews worked feverishly to keep exposed reactor cores cool enough to prevent massive explosions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">At the time Japanese (and American) officials assured the world that the crew of the <i>Reagan<\/i>, as well as the waters off Japan and the air above it, were &#8220;safe,&#8221; as in, there had not been an appreciable escape of radioactive waste, at least in amounts that would lead to long-term, permanent damage. Many aboard the <i>Reagan <\/i>bought into the government&#8217;s line.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">But now, as <i>Der Spiegel<\/i> notes, years later, more and more of the <i>Reagan<\/i>&#8216;s crew has &#8220;mysteriously&#8221; become ill, including those like Master Chief Petty Officer Leticia Morales. On a host of medications and having undergone batteries of tests, she struggles to remember details about her everyday life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><i>Der Spiegel<\/i> reported:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><i>Three-and-a-half years later, Master Chief Petty Officer Leticia Morales is sitting in a cafe in a rundown department store north of Seattle and trying to remember the name of the doctor who removed her thyroid gland 10 months ago. Her partner Tiffany is sitting next to her fishing pills out of a large box and pushing them over to Morales.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">&#8220;It was something like Erikson,&#8221; Morales told the magazine during an interview at a cafe north of Seattle, in trying to remember the name of the doctor who removed her thyroid gland about a year ago. &#8220;Or maybe his first name was Eric, or Rick. Oh, I don&#8217;t know. Too many doctors.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Once homeported at San Diego, the USS <i>Reagan<\/i>&#8216;s homeport as of January 2014 is Yokosuka, Japan, ironically.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><i>Der Spiegel<\/i> reported further:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\"><i>In the last year-and-a-half, she has seen oncologists, radiologists, cardiologists, blood specialists, kidney specialists, gastrointestinal specialists, lymph node experts and metabolic specialists. &#8220;I&#8217;m now spending half the month in doctors&#8217; offices,&#8221; she says. &#8220;This year, I&#8217;ve had more than 20 MRTs. I&#8217;ve simply lost track.&#8221;<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">It was Morales&#8217; endocrinologist who asked her the question that made her start to wonder about <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.naturalnews.com\/Fukushima.html\">Fukushima<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and about the &#8220;official line&#8221; regarding radiation exposure. He asked if she had been aboard the <i>Reagan <\/i>during Tomodachi, and she said she had.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The endocrinologist then said he had also removed six thyroid glands from other <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ccffff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.naturalnews.com\/sailors.html\">sailors<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>aboard the <i>Reagan<\/i>, and it was then that Morales put together her own poor health and her participation in the operation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Retired Navy Lt. Steve Simmons knows. He, too, has been suffering from illness since serving aboard the <i>Reagan<\/i> during Tomodachi.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Dozens more sickened<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">&#8220;There are individuals out there who are in very similar situations to myself&#8230; progressive muscle weakness that starts in their legs and starts to ascend.
