Apparently, none of the victims, their friends, or their family members resent police for holding their loved ones without due process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2015\/oct\/19\/homan-square-chicago-police-disappeared-thousands?CMP=twt_gu\"><strong>Guardian reports<\/strong>:<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">According to an analysis of data disclosed to the Guardian in late September, police allowed lawyers access to Homan Square for only 0.94% of the 7,185 arrests logged over nearly 11 years. That percentage aligns with <a class=\" u-underline\" style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/chicago\" data-link-name=\"auto-linked-tag\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\">Chicago<\/a> police\u2019s broader practice of providing minimal access to attorneys during the crucial early interrogation stage, when an arrestee\u2019s constitutional rights against self-incrimination are most vulnerable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">But Homan Square is unlike Chicago police precinct houses, according to lawyers who described a \u201cfind-your-client game\u201d and experts who reviewed data from the latest tranche of arrestee records obtained by the Guardian.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cNot much shakes me in this business \u2013 baby murder, sex assault, I\u2019ve done it all,\u201d said David Gaeger, an attorney whose client was taken to Homan Square in 2011 after being arrested for marijuana. \u201cThat place was and is scary. It\u2019s a scary place. There\u2019s nothing about it that resembles a police station. It comes from a Bond movie or something.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div id=\"attachment_111659\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Homan-Square2.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-111659\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-111659\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Homan-Square2-300x180.jpeg\" alt=\"Homan Square, Chicago. Click to enlarge<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Internal police records obtained by the Guardian show that from August 2004 to June 2015, nearly 6,000 of those held in Homan Square were black. This number represents more the two times the proportion of the city\u2019s population.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Of those 6,000 held, only 68 people were allowed access to attorneys or had their whereabouts released publicly.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"copy-paste-block\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The vast majority of those held in Homan Square were done so under entirely illegal circumstances \u2014 and no one is being held accountable for it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The damning information released by the Guardian on Monday\u00a0paints an ominous picture of the lengths cops will go to enforce the war on drugs. Most of those illegally held in this paramilitary prison were done so under the guise of the drug war. According to their report:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The narcotics, vice and anti-gang units operating out of Homan Square, on Chicago\u2019s west side, take arrestees to the nondescript warehouse from all over the city: police data obtained by the Guardian and mapped against the city grid show that 53% of disclosed arrestees come from more than 2.5 miles away from the warehouse. No contemporaneous public record of someone\u2019s presence at Homan Square is known to exist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">Nor are any booking records generated at Homan Square, as confirmed by a sworn deposition of a police researcher in late September, further preventing relatives or attorneys from finding someone taken there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">\u201cThe reality is, no one knows where that person is at Homan Square,\u201d said Craig Futterman, a professor at the University of Chicago Law School who studies policing. \u201cThey\u2019re disappeared at that point.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">After being held against their will, without due process, and not knowing if they were going to make it out alive, more the 5,000 of those held at Homan Square were charged with\u00a0<strong>drug possession only;\u00a0<\/strong>heroin accounted for 35.4% of those, with marijuana next at 22.3%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The Free Thought Project has interviewed some of those held in this frightening place. <a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"http:\/\/thefreethoughtproject.com\/say-lawyer-motherfr-detainees-chicagos-police-black-site-speak\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Their experiences are shocking<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">The fact that police can operate a secret prison, which has now admitted that it detains people without due process and<a style=\"color: #ccffff;\" href=\"http:\/\/thefreethoughtproject.com\/chicago-man-cops-brought-secret-prison-anally-raped-force-informant\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> is known for torturing many of its victims<\/strong><\/span>, <\/a>should be a wake-up call to those unaware of the nightmarish police state being constructed around them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ccffff;\">How many other <em>Homan Squares\u00a0<\/em>currently exist in America? If one can exist, it is certainly feasible to suspect more than one.
