The elections are upon us and it appears, though nothing is certain, that Obama will win. Thank God for that! Another four to eight years of the Bush Republican rule would destroy the fabric of this country. If those who have been kicked out of their homes, had their credit cards revoked, lost their jobs, lost their sons, husbands or brothers in a useless war want to know what happened, look to George W. Bush and the right-wing Republicans. Wars mean excuses for huge crooked appropriations by a frightened Congress, for fear control over a restive population, for the chance to be bribed by crooked businessmen who have prospered because you have taken controls off of the marketplace, put there to stop just such an economic meltdown as we are all seeing, and feeling, today. None of this was an accident or an Act of God but it certainly was a deliberate act of rampant greed and those who perpetrated it, with full knowledge of the probable consequences, must be kept away from the levers of power and, to a certainty, prosecuted for fraud and theft. Hedge fund managers, CEOs, high-level stock brokers, many, many members of Congress and many state officials have been looting the public in a manner redolent of a Third World Country, something this nation is rapidly becoming. No, we need no more of this and we do not need the shrill voices of the Jesus Freaks who thought that they owned the country with Bush in power. It is howlingly funny to note that when delegations of these idiots came to the White House, Bush or his senior people would meet with them and agree, solemnly, with all they said. And then when they left, the entire West Wing erupted in gales of laughter as their recent visitors were mocked and made the objects of scorn and derision. No, even four more years would be four years too many.”

'I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a White House staffer huddled in the barn,' said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota .’ The staffer was cold, exhausted and hungry. He asked me if I could spare a latte and some bagels.’
