News Brief – June 30, 2006
In a brief news item this morning the Times of London reported that French police were holding
Richard Tomlinson, a former MI6 officer, at his home in Cannes.
According to the Times, officers seized computer files and phones and had searched Tomlinson’s boat. He gained attention, the Times reports, when he tried to publish memoirs in contravention of the Official Secrets Act. Now he is reported to be under investigation for further contraventions.
What the Times omitted to say was that Tomlinson earned the wrath of the British establishment after he made a sworn testimony to the inquiry into Princess Diana’s death that clearly
implicated Britons intelligence services in her demise.
As a former intelligence insider himself, Tomlinson was able to name names and provide a wealth of circumstantial detail that pointed to the involvement of the intelligence services in her death.
The sworn testimony was overlooked by Judge Stephan’s inquiry and subsequently ignored by the mainstream media.
However, ever since testifying Tomlinson has been a marked man. Hounded by Britain’s security establishment on a variety of trumped up charges, he was ultimately forced to move to the continent where he has been living in virtual exile.
Now it appears that his
historic affidavit has caught up with him again.
Nonetheless, the timing of these most recent moves against him is interesting: just as the world’s attention is focused on the World Cup and Britain’s upper classes are engrossed in the Wimbledon tennis tournament, the French police have made their move.
Probably acting in concert with Briton’s security establishment, the French police took action just when everyone was suitably distracted and, most importantly, before Tomlinson could repeat his testimony before the new inquiry into her death.
Headed by Lord John Stevens, the former head of London's Metropolitan Police, the new inquiry was said to have uncovered new and
disturbing evidence. The case that Diana had actually been murdered would have been strengthened had Tomlinson been able to testify before them.
The findings of the French authorities were already being
called into question, which is probably why French police have acted now. Thereby preventing Tomlinson from repeating his Testimony.
Finally this latest episode illustrates the degree of collusion between the elite worldwide, regardless of nationality. The British establishment may have orchestrated Diana's death but the French authorities have gone out of their way to conceal that fact.
We will keep you updated as, when or if more reports come in...
