Mitt Romney Wins Narrow Victory in Iowa

News Brief – January 4, 2011

According to the corporate media Mitt Romney has won a narrow victory in the Iowa primary.
Romney edged out his nearest rival, Rick Santorum, by a mere eight votes. Those eight votes were out of the total of 120,000 cast.
The fact that the vote count took place at a secret location will only reinforce suspicions that the count was rigged.
Congressman Ron Paul came in a close third. Romney and Paul were neck and neck for much of the night before the anti-war Paul slipped behind when results came in from rural counties.
Neither Michele Bachmann nor Newt Gingrich fared particulalry well in the final vote. From being an early favourite after winning a straw poll Bachmann slumped to finish fifth place in the poll.
While the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich could only manage a distant fourth place in the final count.
