DAMAGE CONTROL: WHO Develops Amnesia, Claims It Never Liked Lockdowns

Alex Turner-Cohen – Anti-Empire Report Oct 12, 2020

The World Health Organisation has backflipped on its original COVID-19 stance after calling for world leaders to stop locking down their countries and economies.

Dr. David Nabarro from the WHO appealed to world leaders yesterday, telling them to stop “using lockdowns as your primary control method” of the coronavirus.

He also claimed that the only thing lockdowns achieved was poverty – with no mention of the potential lives saved.

“Lockdowns just have one consequence that you must never ever belittle, and that is making poor people an awful lot poorer,” he said.

“We in the World Health Organisation do not advocate lockdowns as the primary means of control of this virus,” Dr Nabarro told The Spectator.

“The only time we believe a lockdown is justified is to buy you time to reorganise, regroup, rebalance your resources, protect your health workers who are exhausted, but by and large, we’d rather not do it.”

Dr Nabarro’s main criticism of lockdowns involved the global impact, explaining how poorer economies that had been indirectly affected.

“Just look at what’s happened to the tourism industry in the Caribbean, for example, or in the Pacific because people aren’t taking their holidays,” he said.

“Look what’s happened to smallholder farmers all over the world. … Look what’s happening to poverty levels. It seems that we may well have a doubling of world poverty by next year. We may well have at least a doubling of child malnutrition.”

Melbourne’s lockdown has been hailed as one of the strictest and longest in the world. In Spain’s lockdown in March, people weren’t allowed to leave the house unless it was to walk their pet. In China, authorities welded doors shut to stop people from leaving their homes. The WHO thinks these steps were largely unnecessary.

Instead, Dr Nabarro is advocating for a new approach to containing the virus.

“And so, we really do appeal to all world leaders: stop using lockdown as your primary control method. Develop better systems for doing it. Work together and learn from each other.”

His message is timely. In a world first, a number of health experts from all over the world came together calling for an end to coronavirus lockdowns earlier this week.

They created a petition, called the Great Barrington Declaration, which said that lockdowns were doing “irreparable damage.”

“As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists, we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection,” read the petition.

“Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health.”

The petition has had 12,000 signatures so far.

It was authored by Sunetra Gupta of the University of Oxford, Jay Bhattacharya of Stanford University, and Martin Kulldorff of Harvard University.

When asked about the petition, Dr Nabarro had only good things to say. “Really important point by Professor Gupta,” he said.

What Nabarro was actually saying in April-March:

There is pain associated with a lockdown implemented again but the government must do whatever is good to contain the virus. Speed is very important.

When history will be written, we will be judged on the basis of how fast we reacted to contain this pandemic. There will come a time where we will assess in great detail how did it all start and fix accountability. Now is not the time.

I would also like to tell all the world leaders the same thing. This is a time where all of us should rise above blame and help fight this invisible enemy.

Lock down and don’t ask questions! You will be judged by how quickly you locked down! Yeah, sounds very much like ‘it only breeds poverty’ and ‘we never liked it’.

The only conclusion here is that Dr. Nabbaro is a stumbling village idiot that no one should take seriously. Why did anyone listen to him in March?

  1. Near where i live is a very upmarket Indian restaurant
it is immaculately prepared and as clean as a whistle.
In the window is expensive Indian cultural objects
such as Elephants and photos of Gandhi.
The rear of the restaurant is very run down and stinks of rotting food
if you pass at first light, you will see swarms of rats eating the food torn from black bin bags.
Politicians are like this, smart groomed standing tall and saying the right thing,
to applause from followers while inside they stink and are rotten to the core.
I was part of the Politicians Protection squad, and i think anyone that votes
    needs their head examined.

  2. Maybe, just hopefully, these crooks are realising there’s going to be a big pushback and they may eventually be called to account. It’s one thing introducing punitive laws but quite another to forcefully impose them amidst serious opposition, and I’m hoping because there doesn’t seem to be a hard-man dictator like a Hitler or Stalin to enforce them, these people are losing their nerve in the face of a serious fightback they may well go on to lose.

  3. So WHO scientific panel was always right,
when they supported lockdowns they were right,
and when they opposed lockdowns they were right.

People should listen to WHO experts, because no matter what the proposition is, these experts are always right

  4. Lying is a way of life for the masses.

    Mystic and Yogi

  5. An international investigation need to commence and criminal charges brought again all parties involved for crime against humanity and MURDER.

Do not let them get away with this. They are trying to wiggle out of this.

  6. Methinks a lawsuit against the crimes of humanity these f–ktards imposed has begun to focus attention. Lots and lots of damages. They are scrambling to protect their position. Next stop- watch the fraudulent conveyances to protect assets. Feeding frenzy at the bankruptcy bar. WHO is a private corporation. Rockefellers/Rothschilds on notice.

  7. “An international investigation need to commence and criminal charges brought again all parties involved for crime against humanity and MURDER. Do not let them get away with this. They are trying to wiggle out of this.”

    WHO should be dismembered.

But true criminals are the political leaders who imposed the lockdown on national level

And peolple who supported those politicians

  8. today they said:

Speaking during a social media Q&A, Maria Van Kerkhove, a WHO infectious disease epidemiologist, said if someone tests positive for Covid-19, that they should be cared for in a medical facility

“Most transmission is actually still happening in households,” Van Kerkhove said. “This we knew from the beginning, from the outbreaks that were detected in China. And one of the most important things that they did in China was recognizing this, and then isolating individuals who are infected outside of the home.”

If an infected person is cared for at home, “There’s the possibility that the virus will spread within the household,” she said.
