YouTube outlaws “contradicting” the World Health Organization

Google’s “anti-misinformation” rules outright ban free debate and expression on Covid19

Catte Black – Off-Guardian July 29, 2020

YouTube’s censorship of alternative Covid19 narratives has become increasingly overt. Back on May 20th it released its still current ‘policy’ which unashamedly tells potential creators:

Don’t post content on YouTube if it includes any of the following:

The list of unacceptable topics and views is fairly extensive

  • Denial that COVID-19 exists
  • Claims that people have not died from COVID-19
  • Claims that there’s a guaranteed vaccine for COVID-19
  • Claims that a specific treatment or medicine is a guaranteed cure for COVID-19
  • Claims that certain people have immunity to COVID-19 due to their race or nationality
  • Encouraging taking home remedies instead of getting medical treatment when sick
  • Discouraging people from consulting a medical professional if they’re sick
  • Content that claims that holding your breath can be used as a diagnostic test for COVID-19
  • Videos alleging that if you avoid Asian food, you won’t get the coronavirus
  • Videos alleging that setting off fireworks can clean the air of the virus
  • Claims that COVID-19 is caused by radiation from 5G networks
  • Videos alleging that the COVID-19 test is the cause of the virus
  • Claims that countries with hot climates will not experience the spread of the virus
  • Videos alleging that social distancing and self-isolation are not effective in reducing the spread of the virus

Now we may all agree some of these banned opinions sound odd, even ridiculous. But that’s not the point. Free speech includes the freedom to be odd, ridiculous and plain wrong. Once that right is gone – free speech no longer exists.

We also need to be sure we don’t let the more risible elements obscure the fact that some very rational and mainstream avenues of thought are being banned from expression here. Including incredibly sweeping statements such as [our emphasis]:

YouTube doesn’t allow content that spreads medical misinformation that contradicts the World Health Organization (WHO) or local health authorities

But the prohibition that might be most significant is the first.

Apparently you can’t go on YouTube and simply say covid19 doesn’t exist.

You can say bubonic plague doesn’t exist. You can say malaria doesn’t exist. You can question the reality of cancer, diabetes, rubella, chicken pox, hantavirus, African Green Monkey disease, the common cold and any other pathology you can think of.

Except covid19.

The real question is – why?

Can you spare $1.00 a month to support independent media

One response to “YouTube outlaws “contradicting” the World Health Organization”

  1. I thought the US withdrew its support for the WHO?

Obviously it is useless to wait for any challenges to work through the US courts based on the 1st Amendment:
” Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

I can see no action which has got off of the ground even to to challenge the insane lockdowns based on any basic rights or freedoms such as liberty, the right of assembly or the security of the person anywhere. The money masters have virtually everything sewn up and locked down in their control. However, all organized criminal activities continue unabated because they pay their dues and are “made”.

As for freedom of speech in the US, the 1st amendment only restricts Congress and government bodies supposedly under them from such restrictions and not private organizations. But if you go to the spirit and purpose of the law, it appears that the US Constitution signals that freedom of speech is flourish so that truth and trust will have a chance and can prevail over an oppressive mindset of government. So why not enact trust busting legislation to go after them allowing for competition using the same kind of media platforms? The reason is that the same financial cartel controlling networks like FB and YT control Congress and virtually every other major power structure these days, and no doubt even the courts.

The original US intention was the creation of a system with a balance of powers and checks and balances to enable the truth, reason, trust, good will to flourish in the pursuit of religion, prosperity and happiness. That vision and balance was slowly eroded away over the 19th century with the stuff which conquers all nations and peoples, which is called “money”. In the US case it was foreign money injected through financial agents into the system. To preserve a sort of balance with freedom in the economic sphere trust busting and anti cartel laws emerged, however when applied against tycoons like Rockefeller’s Standard Oil forcing diversification in the early 20th century, the laws only made him more powerful. The neocon gospel has for the past 30 years advocated more and more financial and corporate centralization and control and actually enshrines monopolies and cartels while shunning competition. Trust busting, fair competition, and anti-cartel laws are now history in the economic sector, and it should be no surprise that centrally-controlled media outlets like FB and YT are not busted up in some way by our governments which are working hand-in-hand with them, in order to fully control and to oppress us according to their will, in perpetuity.
