This is more then mere boasting. Iran does have a formidable missile capacity, which it has developed over the past few decades.
What’s more Israel knows this. That’s why it hasn’t launched any air strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities, as it once did against Iraq. To do so would be to invite immediate Iranian retaliation.
That’s probably also why the U.S. hasn’t launched any air strikes against Iran, despite repeatedly warning about “all options” being open in dealing with Tehran. There are literally dozens of U.S. military bases in the region, all of which would be within range of Iran’s surface-to-surface missiles.
Senior Army Commander: All Israeli Facilities within Range of Iranian Missiles

A senior Iranian army commander underlined preparedness of the country’s Armed Forces to provide a crushing response to any possible aggression, and warned that all Israeli sites and facilities are within the range of the IRGC missiles.
“All the facilities of the Zionist regime are within the range of our missiles. The criminal Israel should know that if it intends to do a damn thing, we can destroy their defense shield within an hour by firing several thousands missiles and raze down the fake regime to the ground forever,” the Army’s top regional commander in Western Iran, Brigadier General Fereidoun Nouri, said on Friday night.
Stressing that the Iranian Armed Forces are prepared to stand against any enemy threat, he said, “If the enemies of the revolution have the illusion of threatening our national security, we will rain down the army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) missiles on them in response to give them such a strong response that would make them regret their actions.”
His remarks came after IRGC Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour warned enemies of Iran’s rapid reaction and crushing response to security threats and aggression against the country.
“The forces which defend the Islamic Republic are fully ready to give a crushing response to the world arrogant powers and the Islamic Republic’s enemies; therefore, they should no more think of threats and they need to know that they will receive a crushing response in case of any move against our security,” General Pakpour told reporters at the end of the IRGC Ground Force’s three-day drills in the Central and Eastern parts of Iran last month.
Also late in February, Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Army Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan underlined that the country’s Armed Forces are always ready to give a crushing response to the aggressors, adding that nothing can surprise them.
“Given the preparedness of the Army, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and other Armed Forces, they cannot be surprised in any conditions and if any threat emerges, certainly the threatening force will regret its action,” General Pourdastan told reporters in the Southern province of Khuzestan.
Referring to different drills held and underway in Iran by the Iranian Armed Forces, he said, “The objective of such wargames is warning those who have the illusion of aggression against Iran.”
