When it comes to gauging the outcome of upcoming U.S. presidential elections, it all depends on who’s doing the actual gauging. The results are so varied and sometimes completely contradictory that one wonders if the opinion polls aren’t being rigged in an effort to sway public opinion one way or the other?
For example in the wake of the last presidential debate a Rasmussen survey released on Friday gave Trump a two point lead over Clinton:

Trump regains lead over Clinton after last debate

Two days later those results were echoed in a IBD/TIPP survey:

Trump Up 2 Points Nationwide, While Clinton Campaigns As If The Race Is Already Won — IBD/TIPP Poll

It’s interesting how the above report mentions that the Clinton’s were campaigning as if the race was already won. Because on the same day an ABC News poll gave Hillary Clinton a double-digit lead over Trump.
Meaning that in just two days Hillary Clinton’s approval rating had surged a full fourteen points. Nor was ABC alone in reporting this. According to Reuters, the odds in Clinton’s favour were 95% for her gaining the White House.
All of which suggests to this writer that the opinion polls are being rigged for two reasons. Firstly to influence voters in the run-up to the actual election. Failing that and faced with the possibility of a Trump victory, the opinion polls are being used to help substantiate claims of a Clinton win should the vote need to be rigged in her favour.
Nor is this suggestion in anyway sensationalist.
After all this the same corporate media that has consistently concealed what really happened on 9/11. This is also the same media that prior to the U.S. led invasion of Iraq fed us a steady stream of speculative reports about “Saddam’s WMD”, all of which turned out to be utterly baseless.
So the addition or subtraction of a few points on an opinion poll would be nothing in comparison. Ed.

Broad disapproval of Trump has pushed Clinton into a wide lead.

Hillary Clinton has jumped into a double-digit lead against rival Donald Trump, pushed largely by disapproval of the Republican candidate, according to ABC News’s inaugural 2016 election tracking poll.

The Democratic nominee now leads Trump by 12 percentage points among likely voters.
