It is a history of the Communist takeover of the US in the twentieth century. The authors establish that the goal of Communism is no less than the destruction and enslavement of the human race. Bella Dodd was a Communist Party of America (CPUSA) leader in the 1930′ s and 1940’s. Her book, “School of Darkness” (1954) reveals that Communism was a hoax perpetrated by financiers “to control the common man” and to advance world tyranny. Naturally, this important book is out-of-print and not in any used bookstores. It can be read online here. [It has recently been reprinted and is available here.]
Bella Dodd was born Maria Asunta Isabella Visono in Italy about 1904. A brilliant and dedicated woman, she graduated from Hunter College and NYU Law School. She became head of the New York State Teachers Union and was a member of the CPUSA’s National Council until 1949.
Dodd describes Communism as “a strange secret cult” whose goal is the destruction of Western (i.e. Christian) Civilization. Millions of naive idealists (“innocents”) are tricked by its talk of helping the poor, but it cares only for power. For example, Dodd found there was no social research at party headquarters. “We are a revolutionary party, not a reform party,” she was told. (163) The goal is to destroy not to improve.
Words have been twisted. Hoover’s full quote from the mid-1950s is, “The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists. The American mind simply has not come to a realization of the evil which has been introduced into our midst.” He meant the Deep State behind the government, probably banker-led, probably Jewish but certainly not communist.
Even earlier in 1918 President Woodrow made reference to this invisible power, saying “Since I entered politics I have chiefly had men’s views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.” Wilson was Governor of New Jersey in 1911, six years before the Russian Revolution. He introduced the Revenue Act of 1913 which brought in income tax, and the Federal Reserve Act, also 1913, both four years earlier. Even if the communists had failed these facts would remain and that same invisible power would also remain.
These two prominent Americans were talking about bankers and high financiers. They weren’t talking about revolutionaries they were talking about money: the only power that doesn’t need guns and armies to overthrow and control governments.

Bella Dodd was scheduled to be “the first woman” to hold some high post in government, until she quit the Communist Party. It may have been Secretary of State. Her book, linked above, is well worth reading. If nothing else, it should give you insights into why Compulsory Public Schools is the foundation plank of Marx’s Communist Manifesto’s political platform.

I read this article more than a decade ago. Unfortunately, Henry Makow does not disspell the Big Lie that socialism is communism. Even among the “state-ists” of the early socialist movement, Marx was too extreme. Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, the “Father of Anarchy”, from whom Marx stole much of his economic theory, referred to Marx as “the tapeworm in socialism”. I am aware that Makow since this article was originally published, has recognized that Marx was not only employed by the Rothschilds, but related to them. Interesting that Mikhail Bakunin would unwittingly pronounce:

they failed spectacularly as far as the Catholic Church goes—only the Reform Protestants, who are clearly enslaved to Talmud and no longer consider Christ an entity worth attention, remain.
So, what did they accomplish by reducing European Christianity to a fringe cult if it was such a mighty vehicle for their illusion?
