Sony is Japanese in Name Only

News Commentary — Dec 23, 2014

Recent news items about Sony and the comments from Sony Pictures Chair Amy Pascal brought to mind an email from psychic friend I received earlier this year.
Pascal’s comments were leaked following Sony’s decision to release a movie with a plot about the assassination of Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Following the leaks and the cyber attacks that followed Sony announced that the movie, the Interview, wouldn’t go on general release.
The damage had been done however. Beyond escalating into an international crisis which raised serious questions about privacy and freedom of speech, perhaps the most damaging aspect of the whole affair was the exposure of Sony Pictures head Amy Pascal’s private emails.

Much of it was salacious gossip between industry insiders. With Pascal calling Adam Sandler an “asshole” after he asked for more money, while producer Scott Rudin called Angelina Jolie a “minimally talented, Spoiled brat” in an email to Pascal.
In another email exchange Pascal and Rudin mocked President Obama with allusions to race.
‘Should I ask him if he liked DJANGO?’ Pascal asked Rudin, in reference to the 2012 Quentin Tarantino film Django Unchained that dealt with the subject of slavery. The two then go on to list as many current films starring black actors as they can name.
The release of the emails forced Pascal to formally apologise for her remarks, which she described as “insensitive and inappropriate, but not an accurate reflection of who I am”.
As if to make up for the exchange another private Pascal email appeared on the web a short while later in which she suggested that Black actor Idris Elba should be the “new Bond“.

Whether or not this email is authentic or whether it was just contrived for damage control remains to be seen. It does however reveal an amazing level of cynicism. On the one hand Pascal’s private emails reveal supremacist undertones with racist allusions, but when these are exposed she immediately suggests promoting Black actors, in recompense.
Playing the caring liberal to win sympathy and support, in effect Pascal was using suggestions of “positive discrimination” as a means to repair her damaged reputation.
It all brought to mind the email I’d received from my psychic friend earlier this year:
“Check it out my friend”, my friend wrote.
“It’s under complete Jewish control.
“Google the heads of Sony boards worldwide.
“The Japanese board are puppets.
“The company is a Japanese company because it’s listed on the Tokyo stock exchange. That’s it.
“It could be listed on the Stock Exchange of any other country. It wouldn’t make a difference.
“They hide behind the Japanese listing”.
My friend’s email had come in response to a report that Sony was supplying Israel with technology for its missiles used in Gaza but as he points out, the ostensibly “Japanese company” is now under “complete Jewish control”.
Until I received his email I hadn’t thought about Sony as a “Jewish company” like Goldman Sachs, for example. However with Amy Pascal exposed as the cynical and manipulative head of U.S. Sony Films a reappraisal is in order.
Hollywood is becoming ever more of a bastion of Zionist power and we wonder what exemplifies this more? The fact that Sony studio bosses are exchanging emails with sneering, supremacist allusions? Or whether divisions of the same company are now providing technology to help Israel launch strikes on Palestinian civilians?
