Rocks discovered off the coast of Rio in Brazil could be part of a hidden continent, according to geologists.

The granite samples were found when Brazil’s Geology Service (CPRM) dredged the seabed near the Rio Grande Elevation – a long seismic mountainous ridge that runs along the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

And now scientists claim the rocks were likely part of a continent that sunk into the ocean when Africa and South America drifted apart 100 million years ago – dubbing the discovery the ‘Brazilian Atlantis’.

Brazil’s Geology Service (CPRM) dredged the seabed by the Rio Grande Elevation almost two years ago so it could analyse the rocks buried there.

A number of granite rocks were among the samples found 900 miles (about 1,500 kilometres) from Rio.

Roberto Ventura Santos, a top official at Brazil’s Geology Service (CPRM), told the G1 website: ‘This could be the Brazilian Atlantis.

‘We are almost certain but we must bolster our hypothesis.

‘We will have final (scientific) recognition this year when we conduct drilling in the area to retrieve more samples of these rocks.’

Last month a team of scientists from Brazil and Japan took a research submersible called the Shinkai 6500 underwater to study the Rio Grande Elevation.

Ventura added that what they saw back up his claims about the ‘Brazilian Atlantis’: ‘We began to see that the area could be a piece of the continent that disappeared into the sea millions of years ago.’

More tests are being carried out on the rocks found, and on the underwater geological formation, to confirm the geologists claims.

Archaeologists, using a camera-equipped robot, have discovered hundreds of enigmatic, once-metallic spheres buried deep beneath an ancient pyramid in Mexico City.

The mysterious spheres were found during an archaeological excavation at one of the most important buildings in the pre-Hispanic city of Teotihuacan.

“They look like yellow spheres, but we do not know their meaning. It’s an unprecedented discovery,” said Jorge Zavala, an archaeologist at Mexico’s National Anthropology and History Institute.

A World Heritage Site – the Mesoamerican ruins of Teotihuacan – represent one of the largest urban centers of the ancient world, ‘Discovery News’ reported.

The pyramid-filled city, believed to have been established around 100 BC, had more than 100,000 inhabitants at its peak, but was abandoned for mysterious reasons around 700 AD.

The archaeological dig at the temple focused on a 330-foot-long tunnel which runs under the structure. The conduit was discovered in 2003 when heavy rain uncovered a hole a few feet from the pyramid.

“Finally, a few months ago we found two side chambers at 72 and 74 meters (236 and 242 feet) from the entrance. We called them North Chamber and South Chamber,” archaeologist Sergio Gomez Chavez, director of the Tlalocan Project, said.

Researchers explored the tunnel with a remote-controlled robot called Tlaloc II-TC, which has an infrared camera and a laser scanner that generates 3D visualisation of the spaces beneath the temple.

“The robot was able to enter in the part of the tunnel which has not yet been excavated yet and found three chambers between 100 and 110 meters from the entrance,” Chavez said.

The spheres lay in both north and south chambers. Ranging from 1.5 to 5 inches, the objects have a core of clay and are covered with a yellow material called jarosite.

“This material is formed by the oxidation of pyrite, which is a metallic ore. It means that in pre-hispanic times they appeared as if they were metallic spheres. There are hundreds of these in the south chamber,” said Chavez.

Evidence of a drowned “microcontinent” has been found in sand grains from the beaches of a small Indian Ocean island, scientists say.

A well-known tourist destination, Mauritius (map) is located about 1,200 miles (2,000 kilometers) off the coast of Africa, east of Madagascar. Scientists think the tiny island formed some nine million years ago from cooling lava spewed by undersea volcanoes.

But recently, researchers have found sand grains on Mauritius that contain fragments of the mineral zircon that are far older than the island, between 660 million and about 2 billion years old.

In a new study, detailed in the current issue of the journal Nature Geoscience, scientists concluded that the older minerals once belonged to a now vanished landmass, tiny bits of which were dragged up to the surface during the formation of Mauritius. “When lavas moved through continental material on the way towards the surface, they picked up a few rocks containing zircon,” study co-author Bjørn Jamtveit, a geologist at the University of Oslo in Norway, explained in an email.

Most of these rocks probably disintegrated and melted due to the high temperatures of the lavas, but some grains of zircons survived and were frozen into the lavas [during the eruption] and rolled down to form rocks on the Mauritian surface.”

Prehistoric Atlantis

Jamtveit and his colleagues estimate that the lost microcontinent, which they have dubbed Mauritia, was about a quarter of the size of Madagascar (map).

Furthermore, based on a recalculation of how the ancient continents drifted apart, the scientists concluded that Mauritia was once a tiny part of a much larger “supercontinent” that included India and Madagascar, called Rodinia.

The three landmasses “were tucked together in one big continent prior to the formation of the Indian Ocean,” Jamtveit said.

But like a prehistoric Atlantis, Mauritia was eventually drowned beneath the waves when India broke apart from Madagascar about 85 million years ago. (Also see “Slimmer Indian Continent Drifted Ten Times Faster.”)

Ancient Rocks

Scientists have long suspected that volcanic islands might contain evidence of lost continents, and Jamtveit and his team decided to test this hypothesis during a layover in Mauritius as part of a longer research trip in 1999. (See volcano pictures.)

The stop in tropical Mauritius “was a very tempting thing to do for a Norwegian in the cold month of January,” Jamtveit said.

Mauritius was a good test site because it was a relatively young island and, being formed from ocean lava, would not naturally contain zircon, a tough mineral that doesn’t weather easily.

If zircon older than 9 million years was found on Mauritius, it would be good evidence of the presence of buried continental material, Jamtveit explained. (See lava and rock pictures.)

At first, the scientists crushed rocks from Mauritius to extract the zircon crystals, but this proved difficult because the crushing equipment contained zircon from other sites, raising the issue of contamination.

“That was a show stopper for a while,” Jamtveit said.

A few years later, however, some members of the team returned to Mauritius and this time brought back sand from two different beaches for sampling.

The scientists extracted 20 zircon samples and successfully dated 8 of them by calculating the rate that the elements uranium and thorium inside of the samples slowly break down into lead.

“They all provided much older ages than the age of the Mauritius lavas,” Jamtveit said. “In fact they gave ages consistent with the ages of known continental rocks in Madagascar, Seychelles, and India.”

Missing Evidence?

Jérôme Dyment, a geologist at the Paris Institute of Earth Physics in France, said he’s unconvinced by the work because it’s possible that the ancient zircons found their way to the island by other means, for example as part of ship ballast or modern construction material.

“Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, which are not given by the authors so far,” said Dyment, who did not participate in the research.

“Finding zircons in sand is one thing, finding them within a rock is another one … Finding the enclave of deep rocks that, according to the author’s inference, bring them to the surface during an eruption would be much more convincing evidence.”

Dyment added that if Mauritia was real, evidence for its existence should be found as part of a joint French and German experiment that installed deep-sea seismometers to investigate Earth’s mantle around Réunion Island, which is situated about 120 miles (200 kilometers) from Mauritius. “If a microcontinent lies under Réunion, it should be depicted by this experiment,” said Dyment, who is part of the project, dubbed RHUM-RUM.

More Dismembered Continents to Be Found?

But Conall Mac Niocaill, a geologist at the University of Oxford in the U.K. who was also not involved in the study, said “the lines of evidence are, individually, only suggestive, but collectively they add up to a compelling story.”

The zircons “produce a range of ages, but all yield ages older than 660 million years, and one is almost 2 billion years old,” he added.

“There is no obvious source for them in Mauritius, and they are unlikely to have been blown in by the wind, or carried in by human activity, so the obvious conclusion is that the young volcanic lava sampled some older material on their way through the crust.”

Based on the new findings, Mac Niocaill and others think other vanished microcontinents could be lurking beneath the Indian Ocean.

In fact, analyses of Earth’s gravitational field have revealed other areas in the world’s oceans where the rock appears to be thicker than normal and could be a sign of continental crusts.

“We know more about the topography of Mars than we do about the [topography] of the world’s ocean floor, so there may well be other dismembered continents out there waiting to be discovered.”

Nasa’s Curiosity rover has discovered a mysterious metal object emerging from rock on the surface of Mars.

These images were captured by a camera on Curiosity, and reveal the bizarre finger-like structure protruding from the Martian surface and casting a shadow on to the rock below.

Science buffs have suggested the small, shiny-looking object, which makes for an incongruous sight amid the rocks, could be composed of material less susceptible to erosion than its surroundings.

A report on Universe Today said the structure was likely to measure just 0.5cm or less.

It was spotted in the picture beamed back from Mars, which was taken on January 30.

Pictures of the mysterious object emerged after Curiosity drilled its first hole in the surface of Mars, to generate dust it can analyse to detect any traces of life which may once have existed on the planet.

Pictures beamed back from the Martian surface showed a small hole surrounded by a pile of pulverised rock dust, which Nasa hopes to use in sample-collection tests.

In a statement the space agency said Curiosity used both percussion and rotation to bore about 0.8in into the Mars rock as a test in advance of a later full drilling to collect samples.

Completion of this ‘mini drill’ test was confirmed in data from Mars received late Wednesday at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

Mission scientists will now assess the drill cuttings around the fresh half-inch diameter hole to determine whether they are suitable for processing by the rover’s on-board lab.

If they pass muster, the rover team plans to proceed with commanding the first full drilling in the coming days, Nasa said.

The test was performed on a patch of flat, vein-bearing rock called ‘John Klein’, which observations suggested had once been weathered by water erosion.

‘Pre-drilling observations of this rock yielded indications of one or more episodes of wet environmental conditions,’ Nasa said.

‘The team plans to use Curiosity’s laboratory instruments to analyse sample powder from inside the rock to learn more about the site’s environmental history.’

The drill is just one of 10 scientific instruments on-board Curiosity which Nasa scientists hope to use to analyse the surface of Mars more closely than they have ever been able to before.

The one-ton rover has been studying the area around the Gale Crater on Mars to see whether it could have ever been habitable by microbial life.

The drilling comes after scientists last month said they believe the discovery of minerals below the Red Planet’s surface is the ‘strongest evidence yet’ it may have supported life.

A new study led by the Natural History Museum, with the University of Aberdeen, found that all the ingredients for life were present just below the planet’s surface for much of its history.

When meteorites strike the surface of Mars, they act like natural probes, bringing up rocks from far beneath the crust.

Looking at data from NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and ESA’s Mars Express spacecrafts, they analysed rocks and found they contain clays and minerals whose chemical make-up has been altered by water.

With up to half of life on Earth consisting of simple microorganisms that live in below the surface, scientists have suggested that the same may have been true for Mars.

Dr Joseph Michalski, lead author and planetary geologist at the Natural History Museum said: ‘All the ingredients were there for life, but only small single-cell organisms could have survived in those conditions.

‘But I would now be more surprised if there was never any life on Mars, than I would be if we did one day discover that simple life lived in that environment.

‘And if life existed then, there is a chance it could still exist now.’

Australia was settled by a wave of immigrants from India little more than 4,000 years ago, a genetic study shows.

The finding overturns the view that the continent was isolated from the time it was first colonised about 45,000-50,000 years ago until Europeans discovered Australia in the eighteenth century.

DNA evidence suggests that rather than complete most of the journey over several generations by foot, the Indian migrants came over by boat.

Australia’s first human colonisation was the culmination of the long walk out of Africa by the human species.

Humans are believed to have left Africa, via the Arabian coast and through India before reaching Indonesia and New Guinea and finally over an ancient land bridge to Australia.

Following their arrival there was, according to ‘the prevailing view’, little if any contact between Australia’s Aboriginal inhabitants and the rest of the world.

But DNA evidence has now revealed a second wave of human settlement took place about 4,230 years ago, long before the first European settled there.

Australia was first seen by a European in 1606 when it was sighted from a ship and a further 53 vessels arrived before Captain James Cook arrived in 1770 to claim it for Britain.

Analysis of DNA samples from Aboriginal people living in the Northern Territories of Australia today shows that they have up to 11 per cent of their genetic heritage is Indian

The new settlers came from India and the lack of their DNA in other parts of Asia suggests they sailed directly across the Indian Ocean rather than work their way towards Australia by foot.

Intriguingly, their arrival corresponds to evidence in the archaeological record that shows dingos reached Australia about the same time, suggesting they may have been transported by boat by the human settlers.

Dr Irina Pugach, of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, said the international research team calculated that the Indian DNA reached the Aboriginal population 141 generations ago.

Assuming that each generation is separated on average by 30 years the geneticists were able to conclude that the Indian population arrived on in Australia 4230 years ago.

‘Interestingly this date also coincides with many changes in the archaeological record of Australia, which include a sudden change in plant processing and stone tool technologies, with microliths appearing for the first time, and the first appearance of the dingo in the fossil record,’ she said.

‘Since we detect inflow of genes from India into Australia at around the same time, it is likely that these changes were related to this migration.’

Mark Stoneking, a geneticist at the Max Planck Institute, led the study and told Nature magazine: ‘Australia is thought to represent one of the earliest migrations for humans after they left Africa, but it seemed pretty isolated after that.’

DNA from 344 people was analysed for the study, published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Samples were taken from people in Papua New Guinea, South East Asia, China, the US and Australia’s Northern Territory.

The fact that humans were using weapons 200,000 years earlier than thought should raise very serious questions about what we really know about humanity’s past.

After all our first modern human ancestors are thought to have appeared in Africa over 100,000 years ago and in Europe between thirty and forty thousand years ago.

In other words the discovery of stone tipped weapons dating back 200,000 years earlier that thought should call into question when the ancestors of modern man first appeared in either Africa or Europe.

The Independent, owned by an Oligarch, introduces the article with a dumbed down headline while the Guardian headline, “Stone Me” is equally as dumb. Both pointedly omit to ask what could have happened in that missing 200,000 years. It’s not an unreasonable question considering that our known history stretches back little beyond 5,000 years and modern man is first thought to have laid the foundations for primitive early society nearly 10,000 years ago.

That still leaves another 190,000 years unaccounted for, enough time for several civilizations to have risen and fallen. More than enough time for the evidence of their existence to disappear and then maybe be rediscovered, just like the stone-tipped weapons.

Do modern archaeologists and academics ask such questions, much less the oligarch owned Independent? The hell they do. Instead they blather on knowingly about how “This expands the range of behavioral complexity known in human ancestors living 500,000 years ago.” While pointedly ignoring the fact that a black hole stretching 200,000 years has existed in our knowledge about humanity’s past.

For example, imagine if the Industrial Revolution began 200 years earlier than thought, how this would change things? Now multiply that by a thousand times to get some idea of the chasm of ignorance that has just opened up before us. 

What more remains to be discovered? And what academics arrogance and journalists ambition will help conceal it?

Prehistoric arms race started earlier than previously thought

Scientists have found evidence that human ancestors used stone-tipped weapons 200,000 years earlier than once thought, findings that may change notions about the capabilities of prehistoric people.

Spears topped with stone points were most likely used for hunting large game and self-defense and were an important advance in weaponry, according to Jayne Wilkins, lead author of the paper Thursday in the journal Science. The points came from one of the Stone Age archaeological sites in South Africa called Kathu Pan 1, and were used a half-million years ago.

Researchers first thought the early humans were using sharpened wooden spears or stone hand axes, Wilkins said. The steps required to put a sharp-tipped stone at the end of a wooden spear, called hafting, means these ancestors had to engage in planning and other goal-driven thought processes long before a hunt took place, she said.

“This expands the range of behavioral complexity known in human ancestors living 500,000 years ago,” said Wilkins, a PhD candidate in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Toronto, in a Nov. 13 email. “The amount of fore-planning and goal-oriented behavior required for collecting stone, wood and bindings for hafting indicate capabilities much greater than was previously known. It also shows that stone-tipped spears were being used by the ancestors of both modern humans and Neanderthals, so the technology is probably not an independent invention nor something one group learned from the other.”

The spears were an improvement because the hunters could get further out of harm’s way and were more likely to make a successful kill, she said.

The stone tips were recovered between 1979 and 1982 during excavations. In 2010, researchers dated the site to about a half-million years ago.

In the study, researchers replicated the stone points, attached them to spears and then shot them at a dead animal using a calibrated crossbow. The damage to the researchers’ stone points was similar to that seen on the 500,000-year-old points, Wilkins said. The stone points also fit the size and shape of Stone Age points used as spear tips.

“This technology would also have provided another layer of protection from other carnivores, Wilkins said. “Stone-tipped spears would have not only helped our ancestors get food, but would also protect them from becoming food. Some researchers have linked hafted technology – the attachment of stone tools to wooden or bone handles – to language because the sequential steps of combining materials to form a spear is like a recipe that must be followed exactly to produce a result that makes sense. In that way, hafting is analogous to creating a grammatical sentence.”

If NASA’s hunch is correct, Antarctica might have been a lot warmer 20 million years ago – if a bit wetter.

A new university-led study found that ancient Antarctica was much warmer and wetter than previously suspected.

The team, including researchers from Louisiana State University and the University of Southern California, say the climate was suitable to support substantial vegetation – including stunted trees – along the edges of the frozen continent.

By examining plant leaf wax remnants in sediment core samples taken from beneath the Ross Ice Shelf, the research team found summer temperatures along the Antarctic coast 15 to 20 million years ago were up to 11C warmer than today, with temperatures reaching as high as 7C.

Precipitation levels also were found to be several times higher than today.

Sarah Feakins, an assistant professor of Earth sciences at the USC Dornsife College, said: ‘The ultimate goal of the study was to better understand what the future of climate change may look like.

‘Just as history has a lot to teach us about the future, so does past climate. This record shows us how much warmer and wetter it can get around the Antarctic ice sheet as the climate system heats up.

‘This is some of the first evidence of just how much warmer it was.’

Scientists began to suspect that high-latitude temperatures during the middle Miocene epoch were warmer than previously believed when co-author Sophie Warny, assistant professor at LSU, discovered large quantities of pollen and algae in sediment cores taken around Antarctica.

Fossils of plant life in Antarctica are difficult to come by because the movement of the massive ice sheets covering the landmass grinds and scrapes away the evidence.

‘Marine sediment cores are ideal to look for clues of past vegetation, as the fossils deposited are protected from ice sheet advances, but these are technically very difficult to acquire in the Antarctic and require international collaboration,’ said Warny.

Tipped off by the tiny pollen samples, Feakins opted to look at the remnants of leaf wax taken from sediment cores for clues. Leaf wax acts as a record of climate change by documenting the hydrogen isotope ratios of the water the plant took up while it was alive.

‘Ice cores can only go back about one million years,’ Feakins said. ‘Sediment cores allow us to go into “deep time.”‘

Based upon a model originally developed to analyse hydrogen isotope ratios in atmospheric water vapor data from NASA’s Aura spacecraft, co-author and JPL scientist Jung-Eun Lee created experiments to find out just how much warmer and wetter climate may have been.

‘When the planet heats up, the biggest changes are seen toward the poles,’ Lee said. ‘The southward movement of rain bands associated with a warmer climate in the high-latitude southern hemisphere made the margins of Antarctica less like a polar desert, and more like present-day Iceland.’

The peak of this Antarctic greening occurred during the middle Miocene period, between 16.4 and 15.7 million years ago.

This was well after the age of the dinosaurs, which became extinct 64 million years ago. During the Miocene epoch, mostly modern-looking animals roamed Earth, such as three-toed horses, deer, camel and various species of apes.

While none of these ‘proxies’ is as reliable as the bubbles of gas trapped in ice cores, they are the best evidence available this far back in time.

If you thought vampires were simply the stuff of myth and legend – and perhaps the odd teen horror film – think again.

Archaeologists in Bulgaria have unearthed two skeletons from the Middle Ages pierced through the chest with iron rods to keep them from turning into the undead.

They are the latest in a succession of finds across western and central Europe which shed new light on just how seriously people took the threat of vampires and how those beliefs transformed into the modern myth.

According to Mr Dimitrov over 100 buried people whose corpses were stabbed to prevent them from becoming vampires have been discovered across Bulgaria over the years.

He added: ‘I do not know why an ordinary discovery like that became so popular. Perhaps because of the mysteriousness of the word “vampire”.

‘These people were believed to be evil while they were alive, and it was believed that they would become vampires once they are dead, continuing to torment people.’

According to Dimitrov, ‘vampires’ were often aristocrats and clerics.

He added: ‘The curious thing is that there are no women among them. They were not afraid of witches.’

However last month Italian researchers discovered what they believed to be the remains of a female ‘vampire’ in Venice – buried with a brick jammed between her jaws to prevent her feeding on victims of a plague which swept the city in the 16th century.

Matteo Borrini, an anthropologist from the University of Florence, said the discovery on the small island of Lazzaretto Nuovo in the Venice lagoon supported the medieval belief that vampires were behind the spread of plagues like the Black Death.

The skeleton was unearthed in a mass grave from the Venetian plague of 1576 – in which the artist Titian died – on Lazzaretto Nuovo, which lies around two miles northeast of Venice and was used as a sanitorium for plague sufferers.

Borrini said: ‘This is the first time that archaeology has succeeded in reconstructing the ritual of exorcism of a vampire.

‘This helps … authenticate how the myth of vampires was born.’

The succession of plagues which ravaged Europe between 1300 and 1700 fostered the belief in vampires, mainly because the decomposition of corpses was not well understood, Borrini said.

Gravediggers reopening mass graves would sometimes come across bodies bloated by gas, with hair still growing, and blood seeping from their mouths and believe them to be still alive.

The shrouds used to cover the faces of the dead were often decayed by bacteria in the mouth, revealing the corpse’s teeth, and vampires became known as ‘shroud-eaters.’

According to medieval medical and religious texts, the ‘undead’ were believed to spread pestilence in order to suck the remaining life from corpses until they acquired the strength to return to the streets again.

‘To kill the vampire you had to remove the shroud from its mouth, which was its food like the milk of a child, and put something uneatable in there,’ said Borrini.

‘It’s possible that other corpses have been found with bricks in their mouths, but this is the first time the ritual has been recognised.’

While legends about blood-drinking ghouls date back thousands of years, the modern figure of the vampire was encapsulated in the Irish author Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel ‘Dracula,’ based on 18th century eastern European folktales.

While still largely accepted in some quarters, the idea that humanity’s roots lie solely in Africa is being questioned in the wake of new archaeological finds.

Among these is the discovery of early human fossils in a cave in southern China’s Guangxi province.  

Although academics are still debating whether the jawbone found came from an early human or a Neanderthal, the bone itself was dated to over 100,000 years old.

The “Out of Africa” theory maintains that modern humans evolved from a common homo-erectus ancestor in Africa; who then left Africa and migrated across the world between 150,000 and 100,000 years ago.

However, other discoveries have been made elsewhere in recent years that also challenge this theory about humanities origins. 

The discovery late last year of early stone tools near Dhofar is another that doesn’t quite fit with the “Out of Africa” model. The tools dated to over 100,000 years old point to the emergence of what could be recognised as early humans in the Arabian Peninsula long before it was thought there were any in the region.

Moreover, the theory that stipulates all humans originated in a single migration from Africa is now being challenged by new genetic discoveries. 

In fact reports of discoveries that dispute the prevailing “Out or Africa” theory are coming in from around the world.

Researchers at Australian National University said they had analysed DNA taken from human remains discovered near Lake Mungo in New South Wales. Dating put the remains at between 56,000 and 65,000 years old.

ANU anthropologist Alan Thorne said that neither “Mungo Man’s” completely modern skeleton nor its DNA had any links with human ancestors from Africa found in other parts of the world.

Neither of them [the skeleton or DNA] show any evidence that they ever were in Africa,” Thorne told Reuters. “There’s modern humans in Australia that have nothing to do with Africa at all.” (ABCNews Jan 9, 2012)

Although as yet unproven, a competing hypothesis is emerging to challenge the prevailing “Out of Africa” theory. The competing hypothesis is called the “multiregional origin” of modern humans and while it’s still inconclusive, don’t let anyone tell you that humanities origins in Africa have been confirmed.

They haven’t. As they say, the juries still out on that one.

But perhaps we shouldn’t get too carried away with the debate between the two theories because after all they are only theories. Nor should we forget that Darwin’s famous theory of evolution itself remains only that, a theory.

Despite being taken as near gospel in some quarters Darwin’s theory has yet to be proven. That’s why they are still looking for a “missing link” that would conclusively connect earlier ape-like hominids with modern man.

In spite of having been discovered on numerous occasions – all of which were ultimately proven wrong or even hoaxed – the “missing link” is still precisely that, missing.

So perhaps we should pause here to remember that while Darwin’s theory has been widely accepted as tenable, it has not been established as an irrefutable scientific fact. Despite what various ‘authorities’ would have you believe Darwin’s theory is only one among a number of explanations for mankind’s origins.

Another prime contender to explain mankind’s origins is, of course, divine creation and here it should be noted that various vested interests would like that particular theory completely erased from the list; if only because it would then allow them to enter their own contender as creator.

Jesus died on Friday, April 3, 33AD, according to an investigation which matches his death to an earthquake.

The investigation, from the International Geology Review, looked at earthquake activity around the Dead Sea, which is around 13 miles from Jerusalem.

The Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 27, says that as Jesus lay dying on the cross, an earthquake shook the area, scattering graves and making the sky go dark.

Now researchers have looked at textual accounts, geological records and astronomical data to find the most likely date for Jesus’s death.

Geologist Jefferson Williams of Supersonic Geophysical, and colleagues from the German Research Center for Geosciences, studied soil samples from the beach of Ein Gedi Spa, next to the Dead Sea.

Researching the deeper layers of the soil, two earthquakes were detected by looking at the layers of built-up sediment, called varves, which built up each year.

A widespread earthquake is known to have happened in 31BC, and another one was detected which must have occured between 26AD and 36AD.

Williams told Discovery that the latter earthquake occurred during ‘the years when Pontius Pilate was procurator of Judea and when the earthquake of the Gospel of Matthew is historically constrained.’

He said the the day and date of the crucifixion are known with a fair degree of precision – but the year has been in question.

However, putting the jigsaw together, Williams said the clues were:

• All four gospels and Tacitus in Annals (XV,44) agree that the crucifixion occurred when Pontius Pilate was procurator of Judea from 26-36 AD
• All four gospels say the crucifixion occurred on a Friday
• All four gospels agree that Jesus died a few hours before the beginning of the Jewish Sabbath (nightfall on a Friday)
• The synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) indicate that Jesus died before nightfall on the 14th day of Nisan; right before the start of the Passover meal
• John’s gospel differs from the ‘Synoptic Gospels’; apparently indicating that Jesus died before nightfall on the 15th day of Nisan

The researchers said that these clues, combined with the Jewish calendar and astronomy clues, indicate that Friday April 3, 33 AD is the best possible match.

A leather-bound religious text, thought to date from the fifth century but discovered only 12 years ago, will cause the collapse of Christianity worldwide, claims Iran.

The book, written on animal hide, apparently states that Jesus was never crucified and that he himself predicted the coming of the Prophet Muhammad, according to the the Iranian press.

Written in Syriac, a dialect of Aramaic, the gospel even predicts the coming of the last Islamic messiah, the report adds.

Turkish authorities believe it could be an authentic version of the Gospel by Jesus’s disciple Barnabas, and the Iranian press report has claimed that its contents will trigger Christianity’s downfall by proving that Islam is the final and righteous religion.

Others have dismissed the Iranian claims as ‘laughable’ anti-Christian propaganda.

The Basij Press claims the text was written in the 5th or 6th century and it predicted the coming of the Prophet Muhammad and the religion of Islam. It says the Christian world denies the existence of such a gospel.

Basij claims that Chapter 41 of the Gospel reads: ‘God has hidden himself as Archangel Michael ran them (Adam and Eve) out of heaven, (and) when Adam turned, he noticed that at top of the gateway to heaven, it was written “La elah ela Allah, Mohamad rasool Allah”,’ meaning Allah is the only God and Mohammad his prophet.

Turkish authorities seized the text in 2000 in a crackdown on a gang who were charged with smuggling antiquities, illegal excavations and the possession of explosives.

But excitement at the find only peaked in February this year, when it was reported that the Vatican had made an official request to view the book. It is not known whether the request was granted.

Its origins are unknown, but National Turk reported that the book had been kept in the Justice Palace in the Turkish capital, Ankara, and was being transferred under armed police guard to the city’s Ethnography Museum.

The Basij report suggests that the discovery is so immense that it will shake world politics.

‘The discovery of the original Barnabas Bible will now undermine the Christian Church and its authority and will revolutionize the religion in the world,” it states.

‘The most significant fact, though, is that this Bible has predicted the coming of Prophet Mohammad and in itself has verified the religion of Islam.’

Although Turkish authorities believe the text to be genuine, other observers have questioned its authenticity.

Erick Stakelbeck, a terrorism analyst and a close observer of Iranian affairs, told WND.com: ‘The Iranian regime is committed to stamping out Christianity by any means necessary.

‘Whether that means executing Christian converts, burning Bibles or raiding underground churches.’

Phil Lawler, writing on the Catholic Culture website, described the claim as a ‘laughable Iranian challenge to Christianity’.

The earliest known Mayan calendar has been found in an ancient house in Guatemala and it offers no hint that the world’s end is imminent, researchers said Thursday.

Rather, the painted room in the residential complex at Xultun was likely the place where the town scribe kept records, scrawling computations on the walls in an effort to find “harmony between sky events and sacred rituals,” said the study in the journal Science.

The hieroglyphs date back to the ninth century, making them hundreds of years older than the calendars in the Maya Codices, which were recorded in bark-paper books from 1300 to 1521.

Some appear to be the 365-day solar calendar, the 584-day cycle of the planet Venus and the 780-day cycle of Mars, said archaeologist William Saturno of Boston University, who led the exploration and excavation.

According to Saturno, the writing looks like someone’s attempt to sort out a very long math problem, as if on a blackboard.

“For the first time we get to see what may be actual records kept by a scribe, whose job was to be official record keeper of a Maya community,” Saturno said.

“The ancient Maya predicted the world would continue, that 7,000 years from now, things would be exactly like this,” he added.

“We keep looking for endings. The Maya were looking for a guarantee that nothing would change. It’s an entirely different mindset.”

Furthermore, there is no sign that the much-hyped myth that the Mayan calendar would end in 2012, and with it the world, has any bearing in reality.

All that ended in 2012 was one of its calendar cycles, said co-author Anthony Aveni, professor of astronomy and anthropology at Colgate University.

“It’s like the odometer of a car, with the Maya calendar rolling over from the 120,000s to 130,000,” said Aveni.

“The car gets a step closer to the junkyard as the numbers turn over; the Maya just start over,” he added.

“The most exciting point is that we now see that the Maya were making such computations hundreds of years — and in places other than books — before they recorded them in the Codices.”

Even though the 12-square mile (31-square kilometer) site of Xultun, deep in a rainforest where tens of thousands of people once lived, was first discovered about 100 years ago, the house structure where the calendar is drawn on the walls was spotted in 2010.

Researchers say careful excavations have revealed that the paintings inside — including some of human figures wearing feather head-dresses — show the first examples of Mayan art on a house interior.

“It’s weird that the Xultun finds exist at all,” Saturno said. “Such writings and artwork on walls don’t preserve well in the Maya lowlands, especially in a house buried only a meter (three feet) below the surface.”

1. PREHISTORIC AND ANCIENT HUMAN SOCIETIES 

Almost everything they teach us about the ancient history is wrong: origin of men, civilizations and pyramids. Homo sapiens sapiens is not a result of the evolution and biologists will never find a “missing link”, because the intelligent man is product of genetic engineering. Sumerians are not the beginning of the civilized men, but rather beginning of another cycle of humanity. And finally, original pyramids, most superior and oldest, were made by advanced builders who knew energy, astronomy and construction better than we do. 

In order to understand the ancient monuments, we need to view them through three realms: physical, energy and spiritual. Our scientific instruments are simply not enough to explain the purpose of oldest pyramids, for example. Mainstream scientists, archaeologists, historians and anthropologists, are often main obstacle for scientific progress. 

Gap between physical and spiritual science is to be bridged if we want to get fully understanding of the past. 

Twelve hundred ton stone block in Baalbeck (Lebanon) needs explanation. Who was able to shape, move and install four times bigger blocks than our, 21st century, capabilities? Yonaguni megalithic monuments (Japan) do belong to the previous cycle of humanity. They are undeniable proof, on the bottom of the Pacific floor, 80 meters below the ocean level, that advanced culture lived in the area more than 12.000 years ago before huge quantities of ice melted and caused Pacific level to rise for 80 meters. Machu Picchu (Peru) tells the story of four distinctive civilizations and different construction styles, first civilization being the most advanced. At the same time, all the history books make up story of Inkas being the builders of “royal retreat” in the recent times. New dating of Peruvian, Mexican, Chinese and Egyptian pyramids will take us back much before recognized history and known rulers. 

Oldest Chinese and Egyptian pyramids are much superior to those made later, as unsuccessful replicas. Older are built from granite and sandstone blocks, more recent ones are much smaller built from bricks and mud. Traces of more advanced beings are everywhere around us. In the meantime, mainstream scientists try to fit those monuments into their time coordinates, falsifying the truth. 

Two hundred Cahokia pyramids show astronomical knowledge of the builders who moved several millions tons of construction materials and who knew the difference between cosmic and magnetic north. Mayan world is an example of the knowledge of Universe. Our Solar system circles Milky Way and that 26-thousand years cycle (“long count calendar”) affect all living life on our Planet. Anasazies, ancestors of Pueblo Indians, didn’t need alphabet or physical communication means to recognize danger in different dimensions coming from the depth of Universe. 

As long as they stay within the box, mainstream archaeologists will never be able to explain tooling and logistic needed to build stone heads on Easter Islands, shape granite blocks of Akapana pyramid complex in Bolivia or create chambers of Giza pyramids. 

Stone spheres of western Mexico, southern Costa Rica, Easter Island or twenty locations in remote Bosnia-Herzegovina, are obvious proof of understanding and manipulating of shapes and energy in the distant past. 

On top of all that, discovery of the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids is telling us that we don’t know our Planet. We might go to the Moon (temporarily, until threaten), but we still need to explore our Mother Earth. More secrets wait to be uncovered and, with the ancient knowledge, help us reach our balance back. 

2. THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE BOSNIAN PYRAMID DISCOVERIES 

In April 2005 I first traveled to the town of Visoko, 20 miles northwest from Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina. My attention was caught by two regularly shaped hills, which I later named the Bosnian Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. For thousands of years locals have considered those hills to be natural phenomena because they were covered by soil and vegetation. However, when I first saw their triangular faces, obvious corners and orientation toward the cardinal points, I knew that they had to be constructed by a force other than nature.  Since I had been investigating pyramids for decades I knew that the pyramids found in China, Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador had the same type of soil and vegetation coverage. 

In 2005 work was begun on this project and construction companies and geologists were paid (out of my pocket) to do core drilling and geo-morphological analysis. We then announced to the world, at the press conference, that the first pyramids in Europe had been discovered.   

Shortly thereafter we established the non-profit Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation and since that time the pyramid investigations in Bosnia have become the world’s largest inter-disciplinary archaeological project. We have spent over 340.000 man-hours in archaeological excavation, sample testing and radiocarbon dating in the period from 2005 to 2011. We determined that the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids consists of five pyramids discovered to date which I named: The Bosnian Pyramids of the Sun, Moon, Dragon, Mother Earth and Love. The site also includes a tumulus complex and a huge underground labyrinth. 

This discovery is historic and changes the knowledge of the early history of Europe for several reasons: 

1. These are the first pyramids discovered in Europe

2. The site includes the largest pyramid structure in the world—The Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun with its height of over 220 meters is much higher than the Great Pyramid of Egypt (147 meters).

3. The Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun has, according to the Bosnian Institute for Geodesy, the most precise orientation towards cosmic north with the error of 0 degrees, 0 minutes and 12 seconds. 

4. The Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun is completely covered by rectangular concrete blocks. The properties of the concrete, including extreme hardness (up to 133 MPs) and low water absorption (around 1%), are, according to the scientific institutions in Bosnia, Italy and France, far superior to modern concrete materials.

5. The pyramids are covered by soil which is, according to the State Institute for Agro-pedology, approx. 12,000 years old. Radiocarbon dating from the paved terrace on Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon, performed by Institute of Physics of Silesian Institute of Technology from Gliwice (Poland) confirmed that terrace was built 10.350 years ago (+/- 50 years). These finding confirm that the Bosnian pyramids are also the oldest known pyramids on the planet.

6. Beneath the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids there is an extensive underground tunnel and chamber network which runs for a total of more than ten miles.

7. Ceramic sculptures have been discovered in the underground labyrinth with a mass of up to 20,000 pounds which makes them the largest found so far from the ancient world. 

The list of the wonders in Bosnian archaeology does not end here. In the vicinity, we discovered the tallest tumulus in the World: 61 meter high. Its nearest competitor, Sillbury Hill in England is 60 meters high. The Bosnian tumulus consists of two-layer megalithic terraces, clay layers and artificial concrete layers. 

A team of physicists detected an energy beam coming through the top of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun. The radius of the beam is 4.5 meters with a frequency of 28 kHz.  The beam is continuous and its strength grows as it moves up and away from the pyramid. This phenomenon contradicts the known laws of physic and technology. This is the first proof of non-herzian technology on the Planet. It seems that the pyramid-builders created a perpetual motion machine a long time ago and this “energy machine” is still working. 

In the underground labyrinth, in 2010, we discovered three chambers and a small blue lake. Energy screening shows that the ionization level is 43 times higher than the average concentration outside which makes the underground chambers into “healing rooms”. 

Further electromagnetic detection in 2011 confirmed that levels of negative radiation through the Hartman, Curry and Schneider grids are equal to zero in the tunnels. There was no technical radiation (from power lines and/or other technology) found in the tunnels and no cosmic radioactivity. Ceramic sculptures are positioned over the underground water flows and the negative energy is transformed into positive.  All of these experiments point to the underground labyrinth as one of the most secure underground constructions in the world and this makes it an ideal place for the body’s rejuvenation and regeneration. 

Two hundred years of Egyptology has not produced a satisfactory answer to the question of what the real purpose was for the oldest and most superior pyramids. 

In only six years, our research in Bosnia has applied inter-disciplinary scientific methods, to look at this complex through the physical, energetic and spiritual dimensions.  We have had pioneering results which affects the entire sphere of knowledge and Pyramid Science.  Our history is changing with each new discovery. 

Perhaps by changing our beginnings or learning to better understand our beginnings we can also change our present and our future for the better.

Stone Age man created a massive network of underground tunnels criss-crossing Europe from Scotland to Turkey, a new book on the ancient superhighways has claimed.

German archaeologist Dr Heinrich Kusch said evidence of the tunnels has been found under hundreds of Neolithic settlements all over the continent.

In his book – Secrets Of The Underground Door To An Ancient World – he claims the fact that so many have survived after 12,000 years shows that the original tunnel network must have been enormous.

‘In Bavaria in Germany alone we have found 700metres of these underground tunnel networks. In Styria in Austria we have found 350metres,’ he said.

‘Across Europe there were thousands of them – from the north in Scotland down to the Mediterranean.

‘Most are not much larger than big wormholes – just 70cm wide – just wide enough for a person to wriggle along but nothing else.

‘They are interspersed with nooks, at some places it’s larger and there is seating, or storage chambers and rooms.

‘They do not all link up but taken together it is a massive underground network.’

Some experts believe the network was a way of protecting man from predators while others believe that some of the linked tunnels were used like motorways are today, for people to travel safely regardless of wars or violence or even weather above ground.

The book notes that chapels were often built by the entrances perhaps because the Church were afraid of the heathen legacy the tunnels might have represented, and wanted to negate their influence.

In some cases writings have been discovered referring to the tunnels seen as a gateway to the underworld.

The mythical lost city of Atlantis has puzzled researchers yet again – this time deep in the North Atlantic Ocean on Atlantic seabed.

According to a research published online on July 10 in the journal Natural Geoscience, an ancient 56 million-year-old landscape has been found submerged beneath the North Atlantic Ocean, west of the Orkney-Shetland Islands and is being likened to the mysterious lost city of Atlantis.

Scientists have discovered mountain peaks and eight major rivers on the lost terrain, which is today buried beneath 2 kilometers of sedimentary rock, the research report said.

The terrain was found by using seismic data which also helped researchers image the ancient landscape.

“Pulses of hot mantle material upwelling in a mantle plume beneath Iceland caused uplift of the North Atlantic sea bed. The sea floor was temporarily lifted above sea level around 56 million years ago, allowing rivers to erode and create channels, before subsiding back beneath the ocean,” Ross A. Hartley of UK’s Bullard Laboratories in Cambridge said.

Hartley reconstructed landscape to demonstrate the history of the surface uplift.

“The surface was lifted up in a series of discrete steps, probably owing to episodic increases in the temperature of the mantle material rising up in the plume below,” he added.

The landscape was lifted above sea level in a series of three discrete steps of 200–400m each. After about 1 million years of sub aerial exposure, this landscape was reburied, Hartley, who is also one of the authors of the report, concluded.

The report has once again sparked speculations about the lost city of Atlantis being found finally.

Atlantis was first mentioned in Greek philosopher Plato’s dialogues, Timaeus and Critias, about 2600 years ago and is thought to have been swallowed up by a massive tsunami in 9600 BC.

Various hypotheses have been made about the actual existence of the city. Some historians thought it really existed, while others would rather consider it a myth.

In March 2011, a U.S.-led team of researchers, including geologists and archaeologists claimed that Atlantis may be found in the marshlands of the Dona Ana Park, southwest Spain. In 1999, British historian and cartographer, Jim Allen, claimed that Atlantis was located where the village of Quillacas lies, on the Bolivian altiplano region at 3,800 metres above sea level.

The ghost of dead poet Ezra Pound bids us to peek into the misty library of our own minds, specifically into the section suppressed by public schools and TV channels, as well as by most progressive Internet websites.

Ezra who? Pound was the great teacher who mentored the leading lights of a generation of 20th century American literateurs: Ernest Hemingway, T.S. Eliot and that bunch. During World War II Pound broadcast anti-American invective and railed against the world banking system. He was tried for treason and spent 13 years in an insane asylum. Today, his message is more prescient than ever.

Pound’s ghost wafts down a cobwebbed corridor of musty tomes and settles upon a long-forgotten folio: “Admonitions of an Egyptian Sage from a Hieratic Papyrus in Leiden,” translated by Alan H. Gardiner in 1909.

“Egypt was in distress; the social system had become disorganized; violence filled the land. Invaders preyed upon the defenseless population; the rich were stripped of everything and slept in the open, and the poor took their possessions. It is no local disturbance that is here described, but a great and overwhelming national disaster. The Pharaoh was strangely inactive.”

Noting that Pharaoh’s Jewish adviser interpreted his dreams, the ghost pulls out a dusty scroll, the famous Ipuwer Papyrus, and reads:

“The towns are destroyed … years of noise. There is no end to noise. The fish in the lakes and rivers die, and worms, insects, and reptiles breed prolifically.”

Pound’s ghost comments: “What a strange occurrence! No battles are described; the empire was not attacked from without. The description is oddly like the French and Russian Communist Revolutions … the rich were stripped of everything and slept in the open. There are also parallels to modern America … the fish in the lakes and rivers die … there is no end to noise.”

He then reads a passage from the 5th century B.C. Egyptian historian Manetho:

“A people of ignoble origin from the East, who had the audacity to invade the country, which they mastered by main force, without difficulty, or even a battle.”

“During this 511 year period, the Jews were princes in Egypt, taking what they wanted from the enslaved Egyptians, and incurring their enmity by their vicious arrogance over the betrayed population. At last, the native leaders of the Egyptians led a successful revolt, and expelled the Hyksos forever. Manetho writes that after the Hyksos were driven out, the Egyptians punished the Jews for their treachery, and enslaved them for life at hard labor.

“This brings us to the period of Moses, when the Jews were complaining about their hard lot in Egypt. Before they betrayed the nation to the Hyksos, they had enjoyed every freedom in Egypt, and it was only natural that they should be punished for their treason. Rather than endure this slavery, they petitioned the Pharoah to let them return to Palestine, and resume their life of nomadic banditry.”

This could be the first recorded instance of what was to happen again and again over time and is still happening, with blinding and bloody vividity, in places like Gaza, Lebanon, Iraq and elsewhere, anywhere the Jewish state conceals its interests from the glare of public scrutiny.

Typical was the fate of Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar II, the mightiest ruler of the ancient world, had received many complaints about the Jewish bandits operating in Palestine and he brought 30,000 captives back to Babylon. Within five decades Babylon was no more.

In a papyrus found in Oxyhynchus, Egypt, a Roman named Hermaiscus is tried for treason, apparently, like Haman in the Persian Empire, he protested against the growing power of the Jews. The papyrus states that in his defense, Hermaiscus said to the Emperor Trajan, “It distresses me to see your cabinet and privy council filled with Jews.” Of course he was executed. How many other gentiles have died in this way over the centuries?

And yes, Brutus and his fellow senators murdered Julius Caesar because the tyrant had made the Jews a privileged group above the laws of Rome, exempt from military service and most of the empire’s laws, much in the same way as the Zionized Neocons of America’s own Caligula, George W. Bush. The traffic in gold between nations was the cornerstone of Jewish international power two thousand years ago, just as it is today. It was carried on under the guise of being a “religious” occupation.

The literary device of Pound’s ghost can only be Eustace Mullins, Pound’s longtime assistant and protegé, who has over the decades become every bit as notorious and revered as his mentor. While Pound created the reputation in letters as the most authentic American poet of the 20th century, Mullins — who started out as the imprisoned Pound’s devoted assistant — has done the same for himself in the area of revealing the secrets of the Federal Reserve scam and chronicling the hidden history of that certain tribe, to whose exploits we now return.

The narrative of the ghost in this story is directly lifted from Mullins’ New History of Jews, which he wrote in 1968.

It chronicles the destruction of a succession of nations down through the centuries, and the formula is shockingly similar. It paints a certain picture over and over again, and when you hear enough of these surprising and suppressed examples of history, you’ll get the message.

For instance, consider the fate of Britain, hub of the world.

“Time after time, the kings of England, facing revolution if they refused, were forced to expel the Jews in response to the demands of the working people,” Mullins writes.

In October 1290, 16,000 Jews boarded vessels, leaving England to live with their fellow parasites in France, Flanders, Germany and Spain. They were kept out of England for 300 years, and during this period, England became the greatest nation in the world.

The Jews finally succeeded in returning by financing a revolution for a fanatic named Oliver Cromwell. With unlimited funds at his disposal, Cromwell hired troops and seized the country. He beheaded the king, Charles I, and began a campaign of ruthless extortion and crime against the people of England. Ostensibly, the Cromwell party was Christian, and it was called the Puritans, but in fact, it was Jewish from its very inception, financed with Jewish money for the purpose of regaining a foothold in England …

So cruel was the oppression of Christians by Cromwell and his Jewish group that the English people rebelled and restored King Charles II to the throne. The first thing they demanded was that he expel the Jews, whom Cromwell had brought back to the country.

A little further along this sad chronology of history, Mullins writes …

Jews were also feared because of their practice of medicine. In the year 833, the Mohammedans forbade the Jews to adopt the profession of medicine, and in 1335, the Holy Synod of Salamanca declared that Jewish physicians entered this profession solely for the opportunities which it offered them to kill Christians.

And too close to our own time, Pound’s ghost synopsizes the infection in America’s collective perceptual powers:

In our universities, everything must be attributed to one of three Jews: Marx, Freud or Einstein; otherwise the instructors are not allowed to teach. Thorn’s ‘9/11 Evil’ first major book to implicate Israel in 9/11

Finally, a book about 9/11 that actually talks about the real perpetrators of that bloody swindle!

Victor Thorn’s new blockbuster “9-11 Evil” bills itself as “the most dangerous 9-11 book ever written” and is exactly that, because it blows the lid off the media suppression of Jewish involvement in the greatest crime ever perpetrated against the American people.

Thorn, who with his partner Lisa Guliani have propelled their WING-TV Internet newscast into one of the most reputable on the web, is fast becoming the Ralph Nader of the 9/11 movement, after his many a celebrated outings of corporate shills Mike Ruppert and Alex Jones. Thorn writes:

“The attacks on New York City and Washington DC nearly five years ago were only the beginning, and if we don’t fully recognize who the real enemy is and stop it dead in its tracks right now, I guarantee that at some point in the near future, we won’t have another opportunity such as this to save ourselves.”

What does Thorn’s book do that all the other voluminous examinations of 9/11 don’t do?

It points the finger squarely at the Mossad, at Israel, and Jews in general. The crime of century has many co-conspirators.

What did happen on 9/11? Thorn writes:

1. The WTC Towers did not collapse due to planes hits or fire. ” … they were crippled by controlled emolitons that were well planned in advance.”

2. Flight 77 did not strike the Pentagon.

3. The crash site in Pennsylvania was not caused by Flight 93.

Thorn lists the best 9/11 books that form the core of his research, and sources the most reputable empirical 9/11 researchers, those who don’t wander into fanciful high-tech explanations. Prominent among his sources are author Michael Collins Piper and webmaster Michael Rivero, whose whatreallyhappened.com website has provided a news package as reliable and focused as any site on the web.

With the same everyman panache that made his previous 9/11 book, “9/11 on Trial” such an easy and valuable read, Thorn creates composite dialogues that flesh out the utter ludicrousness and savage betrayal that the official story inflicted on free people everywhere.

Why are Israel and the Mossad and Jews in general all behind the 9/11 caper? Thorn answers with a thorough survey of all the existing evidence, beginning with Netanyahu’s snide comment on the day of the tragedy. “It’s very good,” he said, referring to the event’s benefit to Israel.

Why were so many Israelis apprehended around the U.S. shortly after the attacks in suspicious circumstances all magically released and flown home to Israel?

And why does the 9/11 skeptics movement, anchored by commercial, pro-Israel shills like Alex Jones and Meria Heller, remain silent on this all-important question?

Thorn’s interpretation of how the entire 9/11 skeptics movement has been “diverted in an array of convoluted directions” provides an important checklist of hazards awaiting new researchers.

1. Vague descriptions of the masterminds of permanent war like “New World Order” deflect from identifying the real perps.

2. Popular media personalities insert their agendas into mass movements.

3. Use a religious figure to accurately describe what happened on 9/11, but he fails to mention the most important point, namely, who did it.

4. “Use paid back-room moles to infiltrate every possible 9/11 chatroom, message board, and forum to create as much din, disruption, “noise”, and chaos as possible which constantly litters and pollutes the soup, effectively preventing most people from focusing on Israel’s central role in 9/11.”

5. Minutia, rhetoric, and circular arguments “to lead people down a maze of endless rabbit holes.”

So who did 9/11? Thorn writes:

“ … 9/11 was an intricately planned act of state-ponsored terrorism concocted by a foreign government (Israel) in unison with an ardently loyal faction of neocon crazies who had burrowed their way into the Pentagon.”

This book is all you need to know but were afraid to ask. It will help you realize that if you don’t ask that question, it will soon be too late.

Like no other 9/11 skeptic I know, Thorn pulls no punches.

“9/11 evil is Israel,” he flatly declares, and concludes his broadside with an extremely long list of Israeli atrocities, concluding with ….

“The Talmud granting permission for Jews to cheat, steal from, kill, and deceive non-Jews.”

Of all the 9/11 analyses I’ve read to date, this book comes the closest to telling the whole truth of the real story, and puts the gory details into their proper historical context. You won’t read this stuff anywhere else in the so-called 9/11 skeptics movement.

Since ancient times and across multiple civilizations, Sirius, the dog star, has been surrounded with a mysterious lore. Esoteric teachings of all ages have invariably attributed to Sirius a special status and the star’s importance in occult symbolism is an attestation of that fact. What makes Sirius so special? Is it simply due to the fact that it is the brightest star in the sky? Or is it also because humanity has an ancient, mysterious connection with it? This article looks at the importance of Sirius throughout History and secret societies and will describe the symbolism surrounding it.

Sirius is located in the constellation Canis Major – also known as the Big Dog – and is therefore known as the “dog star”. It is over twenty times brighter than our sun and is twice as massive. At night time, Sirius is the brightest star in the sky and its blue-white glare never failed to amaze star gazers since the dawn of time. No wonder Sirius has been revered by practically all civilizations. But is there more to Sirius than meets the eye?

Artifacts of ancient civilizations have revealed that Sirius was of a great importance in astronomy, mythology and occultism. Mystery schools consider it to be “sun behind the sun” and, therefore, the true source of our sun’s potency. If our sun’s warmth keeps the physical world alive, Sirius is considered to keep the spiritual world alive. It is the “real light” shining in the East, the spiritual light, where as the sun illuminates the physical world, which is considered to be a grand illusion.

Associating Sirius with the divine and even considering it as the home of humanity’s “great teachers” is not embedded in the mythology of a few primitive civilizations: It is a widespread belief that has survived (and even intensified) to this day. We will look at the importance of Sirius in ancient times, analyze its prominence in secret societies and we will examine these esoteric concepts as they are translated in popular culture.

In Ancient Civilisations

In Ancient Egypt, Sirius was regarded as the most important star in the sky. In fact, it was astronomically the foundation of their entire religious system. It was revered as Sothis and was associated with Isis, the mother goddess of Egyptian mythology. Isis is also the female aspect of the trinity formed by herself, Osiris and their son Horus. Ancient Egyptians held Sirius in such a high regard that most of their deities were associated, in some way or another, with the star. Anubis, the dog-headed god of death, had an obvious connection with the dog star and Toth-Hermes, the great teacher of humanity, is also esoterically connected with the star.

The Egyptian calendar system was based on the heliacal rising of Sirius that occurred just before the annual flooding of the Nile during summer. The star’s celestial movement was also observed and revered by ancient Greeks, Sumerians, Babylonians and countless other civilizations. The star was therefore considered sacred and its apparition in the sky was accompanied with feasts and celebrations. The dog star heralded the coming of the hot and dry days of July and August, hence the popular term “the dog days of summer”.

Several occult researchers have claimed that the Great Pyramid of Giza was built in perfect alignment with the stars, especially Sirius. The light from these stars were said to be used in ceremonies of Egyptian Mysteries.

“This ancient people (Egyptians) knew that once every year the Parent Sun is in line with the Dog Star. Therefore, the Great Pyramid was so constructed that, at this sacred moment, the light of the Dog Star fell upon the square “Stone of God” at the upper end of the Great Gallery, descending upon the head of the high priest, who received the Super Solar Force and sought through his own perfected Solar Body to transmit to other Initiates this added stimulation for the evolution of their Godhood. This then was the purpose of the “`Stone of God,’ whereon in the Ritual, Osiris sits to bestow upon him (the illuminate) the Atf crown or celestial light.” “North and South of that crown is love,” proclaims an Egyptian hymn. “And thus throughout the teaching of Egypt the visible light was but the shadow of the invisible Light; and in the wisdom of the ancient country the measures of Truth were the years of the Most High. ¹

Recent scientific discoveries relating to the Great Pyramid and its mysterious “air shafts” have lead researchers to further confirm the importance of Sirius within the pyramid.

Star alignment with the Great Pyramid of Giza. Orion (associated with the god Osiris) is aligned with the King’s Chamber while Sirius (associated with the goddess Isis) is aligned with the Queen’s Chamber.

A fascinating aspect of Sirius is the consistency of the symbolism and meanings attached to it. Several great civilizations have indeed associated Sirius with a dog-like figure and viewed the star as either the source or the destination of a mysterious force. In Chinese and Japanese astronomy, Sirius is known as the star of the “celestial wolf”. Several aboriginal tribes of North America referred to the star in canine terms: the Seri and Tohono O’odham tribes of the southwest describe the star as a “dog that follows mountain sheep”, while the Blackfoot call it “Dog-face”. The Cherokee paired Sirius with Antares as a dog-star guardian of the “Path of Souls”. The Wolf (Skidi) tribe of Nebraska knew it as the “Wolf Star”, while other branches of knew it as the “Coyote Star”. Further north, the Alaskan Inuit of the Bering Strait called it “Moon Dog”. ²

The Dogon Tribe and Atlantis

In 1971, the American author Robert Temple published a controversial book entitled The Sirius Mystery where he claimed that the Dogons (an ancient African tribe from Mali) knew details about Sirius that would be impossible to be know without the use of telescopes. According to him, the Dogon understood the binary nature of Sirius even though they did not have the technology to make such a discovery. Sirius is indeed composed of two stars, Sirius A and Sirius B. This lead Temple to believe that the Dogons had “direct” connections with beings from Sirius. While some might say “you can’t be Sirius” (sorry), a great number of secret societies (who have historically held within their ranks some of the world’s most influential people) and belief systems teach about a mystic connection between Sirius and humanity.

In Dogon mythology, humanity is said to be born from the Nommo, a race of amphibians who were inhabitants of a planet circling Sirius. They are said to have “descended from the sky in a vessel accompanied by fire and thunder” and imparted to humans profound knowledge. This lead Robert Temple to theorize that the Nommos were extraterrestrial inhabitants of Sirius who travelled to earth at some point in the distant past to teach ancient civilizations (such as the Egyptians and Dogons) about the Sirius star system as well as our own solar system. These civilizations would then record these teachings in their religions and make them a central focus of their Mysteries.

The Dogon’s mythology system is strikingly similar to the ones of other civilizations such as the Sumerians, Egyptians, Israelites and Babylonians as it is based on the archetypal myth of a “great teacher from above”. Depending on the civilization, this great teacher is known as Enoch, Thoth or  Hermes Trismegistus and is said to be a divine teacher of humanity. Throughout History, occultists believed that Thoth-Hermes had taught the people of Atlantis, which, according to legend, became the world’s most advanced civilization before the entire continent of Atlantis was submerged by the Great Deluge (accounts of a flood can be found in the mythologies of countless civilizations). Survivors from Atlantis traveled by boat to several countries, including Egypt, where they imparted their advanced knowledge. Occultists believe that the inexplicable resemblances between distant civilizations (such as the Mayas and the Egyptians) can be explained by their common contact with Atlanteans.

“Was the religious, philosophic, and scientific knowledge possessed by the priestcrafts of antiquity secured from Atlantis, whose submergence obliterated every vestige of its part in the drama of world progress? Atlantean sun worship has been perpetuated in the ritualism and ceremonialism of both Christianity and pagandom. Both the cross and the serpent were Atlantean emblems of divine wisdom. The divine (Atlantean) progenitors of the Mayas and Quichés of Central America coexisted within the green and azure radiance of Gucumatz, the “plumed” serpent. The six sky-born sages came into manifestation as centers of light bound together or synthesized by the seventh – and chief – of their order, the “feathered” snake. The title of “winged” or “plumed” snake was applied to Quetzalcoatl, or Kukulcan, the Central American initiate. The center of the Atlantean Wisdom-Religion was presumably a great pyramidal temple standing on the brow of a plateau rising in the midst of the City of the Golden Gates. From here the Initiate-Priests of the Sacred Feather went forth, carrying the keys of Universal Wisdom to the uttermost parts of the earth.

From the Atlanteans the world has received not only the heritage of arts and crafts, philosophies and sciences, ethics and religions, but also the heritage of hate, strife, and perversion. The Atlanteans instigated the first war; and it has been said that all subsequent wars were fought in a fruitless effort to justify the first one and right the wrong which it caused. Before Atlantis sank, its spiritually illumined Initiates, who realized that their land was doomed because it had departed from the Path of Light, withdrew from the ill-fated continent. Carrying with them the sacred and secret doctrine, these Atlanteans established themselves in Egypt, where they became its first “divine” rulers. Nearly all the great cosmologic myths forming the foundation of the various sacred books of the world are based upon the Atlantean Mystery rituals.” ³

Is Thoth-Hermes-Trismegistus the equivalent of the Dogon’s Nommos, who is believed to originate from Sirius? Ancient texts concerning Hermes describe him as a teacher of mysteries who “came from the stars”. Furthermore, Thoth-Hermes was directly connected with Sirius in Egyptian mythology.

“The dog-star: the star worshipped in Egypt and reverenced by the Occultists; by the former because its heliacal rising with the Sun was a sign of the beneficient inundation of the Nile, and by the latter because it is mysteriously associated with Toth-Hermes, god of wisdom, and Mercury, in another form. Thus Sothis-Sirius had, and still has, a mystic and direct influence over the whole living heaven, and is connected with almost every god and goddess. It was “Isis in the heaven” and called Isis-Sothis, for Isis was “in the constellation of the dog”, as is declared on her monuments. Being connected with the Pyramid, Sirius was, therefore, connected with the initiations which took place in it.” ⁴

“The Trismegistic treatise ‘The Virgin of the World’ from Egypt refers to ‘the Black Rite’, connected with the ‘black’ Osiris, as the highest degree of secret initiation possible in the ancient Egyptian religion – it is the ultimate secret of the mysteries of Isis. This treatise says Hermes came to earth to teach men civilization and then again ‘mounted to the stars’, going back to his home and leaving behind the mystery religion of Egypt with its celestial secrets which were some day to be decoded.” ⁵

Interpreting the mythology of ancient cultures is not an exact science and connections are inherently difficult to prove. However, the symbolic link between Sirius and occult knowledge has constantly appeared throughout History and has seamlessly traveled the through the ages. In fact, it is as revered today as it was millenniums ago. Modern secret societies such as the Freemasons, the Rosicrucians and the Golden Dawn (which are considered to be Hermetic Orders due to the fact their teachings are based on those of Hermes Trismegistus) all attribute to Sirius the utmost importance. An educated look at their symbolism provides a glimpse at the profound connection between Sirius and occult philosophy.

Sirius in Occult Symbolism and Secret Societies

To claim that Sirius is “important” to Hermetic Orders would be a gross understatement. The Dog Star is nothing less than the central focus of the teachings and symbolism of secret societies. The ultimate proof of this fact: many secret societies are actually named after the star.

In the Tarot

The seventeenth numbered major trump is called Les Etoiles, the Star, and portrays a young girl kneeling with one foot in water and the other on and, her body somewhat suggesting the swastika. She has two urns, the contents of which she pours upon the land and sea. Above the girl’s head are eight stars, one of which is exceptionally large and bright. Count de Gébelin considers the great star to be Sothis or Sirius; the other seven are the sacred planets of the ancients. He believes the female figure to be Isis in the act of causing the inundations of the Nile which accompanied the rising of the Dog Star. The unclothed figure of Isis may well signify that Nature does not receive her garment of verdure until the rising of the Nile waters releases the germinal life of plants and flowers. ⁶

In Freemasonary

In Masonic lodges, Sirius is known as the “Blazing Star” and a simple look at the prominence of it in Masonic symbolism reveals its utmost importance. The Masonic author William Hutchinson wrote about Sirius: “It is the first and most exalted object that demands our attention in the Lodge.” The same way the light of Sirius made its way into the Great Pyramid during initiations, it is symbolically present in Masonic lodges.

“The Ancient Astronomers saw all the great Symbols of Masonry in the Stars. Sirius glitters in our lodges as the Blazing Star.” ⁷.

“(The Blazing Star) originally represented SIRIUS, or the Dog-star, the forerunner of the inundation of the Nile; the God ANUBIS, companion of ISIS in her search for the body of OSIRIS, her brother and husband. Then it became the image of HORUS, the son of OSIRIS, himself symbolized also by the Sun, the author of the Seasons, and the God of Time; Son of ISIS, who was the universal nature, himself the primitive matter, inexhaustible source of Life, spark of uncreated fire, universal seed of all beings. It was HERMES, also, the Master of Learning, whose name in Greek is that of the God Mercury.” ⁸

In Freemasonry, it is taught that the Blazing Star is a symbol of deity, of omnipresence (the Creator is present everywhere) and of omniscience (the Creator sees and knows all). Sirius is therefore the “sacred place” all Masons must ascend to: It is the source of divine power and the destination of divine individuals. This concept is often represented in Masonic art.

To achieve perfection, the initiate must successfully understand and internalize the dual nature of the world (good and evil; masculine and feminine; black and white, etc.) through alchemical metamorphosis. This concept is symbolically represented by the union of Osiris and Isis (the male and female principles) to give birth to Horus, the star-child, the Christ-like figure, the perfected man of Freemasonry – who is equated with the Blazing Star.

“The sun and moon … represent the two grand principles … the male and the female … both shed their light upon their offspring, the blazing star, or Horus.” ⁹

The Egyptian hieroglyph representing Sirius has been esoterically interpreted to be a representation of this cosmic trinity.

The hieroglyph representing Sirius contains three elements: a “phallic” obelisk (representing Osiris), a “womb-like” (representing Isis) dome and a star (representing Horus).

This concept is so crucial for Freemasons, that it was embedded in some of the most important structures in the world.

The Washington Monument, an Egyptian obelisk representing the male principle, is directly connected with the dome of the Capitol, representing the female principle. As stated by Albert Pike above, there is a strong connection between the Egyptian god Horus and the star Sirius. In Masonic symbolism, the eye of Horus (or the All-Seeing Eye) is often depicted surrounded by the glittering of light of Sirius.

Given the symbolic correlation between the All-Seeing Eye and Sirius, the next image becomes self-explanatory.

The light behind the All-Seeing Eye on the American dollar bill is not from the sun, but from Sirius. The Great Pyramid of Giza was built in alignment with Sirius and is therefore shown shining right above the Pyramid. A radiant tribute to Sirius is therefore in the pockets of millions of citizens.

Order of the Eastern Star

Considered to be the “female version” of Freemasonry (although men can join), the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) is directly named after Sirius, the “Star rising from the East”. A “general public” explanation of the origins of the name is that the Order was named after the “Star of the East” that lead the Three Magis to Jesus Christ. A look into the occult meaning of the Order’s symbolism however make it clear that the OES is a reference to Sirius, the most important star of Freemasonry, its parent organization.

Madame Blavatsky, Alice Bailey and Theosophy

Helena Blavatsky and Alice Bailey, the two main figures associated with Theosophy, have both considered Sirius to be a source esoteric power. Blavatsky stated that the star Sirius exerts a mystic and direct influence over the entire living heaven and is linked with every great religion of antiquity.

Alice Bailey describes the Dog Star as the true “Great White Lodge” and is the home of the “Spiritual Hierarchy”. For this reason she considers Sirius as the “star of initiation”.

“This is the great star of initiation because our Hierarchy (an expression of the second aspect of divinity) is under the supervision or spiritual magnetic control of the Hierarchy of Sirius. These are the major controlling influences whereby the cosmic Christ works upon the Christ principle in the solar system, in the planet, in man and in the lower forms of life expression. It is esoterically called the “brilliant star of sensitivity.” ¹⁰

Not unlike most many esoteric writers, Bailey considers Sirius to have a great impact on human life.

“All that can be done here in dealing with this profound subject is to enumerate briefly some of the cosmic influences which definitely affect our earth, and produce results in the consciousness of men everywhere, and which, during the process of initiation, bring about certain specific phenomena.

First and foremost is the energy or force emanating from the sun Sirius. If it might be so expressed, the energy of thought, or mind force, in its totality, reaches the solar system from a distant cosmic centre via Sirius. Sirius acts as the transmitter, or the focalising centre, whence emanate those influences which produce self-consciousness in man.” ¹¹

Aleister Crowley, the A.A. and Kenneth Grant

In 1907, Crowley started his own occult order called the A.A. – short for Argentium Astrum, which can be translated to ‘The Order of the Silver Star’. The ‘Silver Star’ was, of course, a reference to Sirius. Even if Crowley almost always referred to the dog star in veiled terms, the whole of his magickal philosophy, from his development as a young Freemason through to his final years as the Head of the O.T.O, is wholly in accordance with the Sirian influence, which was identified and expressed by other writers of his era. His alleged contact with his Holy Guardian Angel that later led to the channeling of ‘Liber AL: The Book of the Law’ is believed to have originated from Sirius.

If Crowley used code words to describe Sirius, his protégé Kenneth Grant has explicitly and extensively written about the dog star. Throughout his numerous books, he often described Sirius as being a powerful center of magickal magnetic power. His belief that the star holds the central key to unlocking the mysteries of the Egyptian and Typhonian traditions has strengthened over time and became a central focus of his research. One of Grant’s most important and controversial thesis was his discovery of the “Sirius/Set current”, which is an extra-terrestrial dimension connecting Sirius, the Earth and Set, the Eyptian god of Chaos – who was later associated with Satan.

“Set is the initiator, the Opener of mans’ consciousness to the rays of the Undying God typified by Sirius – the Sun in the South.” ¹²

“Sirius, or Set, was the original “headless one” – the light of the lower region (the south) who was known (in Egypt) as An (the dog), hence Set-An (Satan), Lord of the infernal regions, the place of heat, later interpreted in a moral sense as “hell”.” ¹³

Although each occult philosophy describes Sirius in a slightly different matter, it is still consistently regarded as the “sun behind the sun”, the true source of occult power. It is perceived as the cradle of human knowledge and the belief of the existence of a strong connection between the star and planet Earth never goes away. Is there a true link between Sirius and Earth? Is the dog star an esoteric symbol representing something happening in the spiritual realm? It is both? One thing is for sure, the cult of Sirius is not a “thing of the past” and is very alive today. An educated look at our popular culture, which is heavily influenced by occult symbolism, reveals numerous references to Sirius.

Sirius in Popular Culture

Direct references to Sirius in popular culture are too many to enumerate (e.g. see the name and the logo of the most important satellite radio in the world). A more interesting aspect of popular culture to analyze are the coded references to Sirius. Important movies have indeed made veiled yet profound references to the dog star (apparently intended to those “in the know”), where it plays the role it that was always attributed to it by Mystery schools: an initiator and a divine teacher. Here are some examples.

In Disney’s Pinocchio, which is based on a story written by Freemason Carlo Bertolli, Gepetto prays to the brightest star in the sky to have a “real boy”. The Blue Fairy (her color is a reference to Sirius’ light-blue glow) then descends from the heavens to give life to Pinocchio. Throughout the marionette’s quest to become a boy (an allegory for esoteric initiation), the Blue Fairy guides Pinocchio towards the “right path”. The theme song of the movie Pinocchio is also an ode to Sirius.

In Harry Potter, the character named Sirius Black is most likely a reference to Sirius B. (the “darker” star of Sirius’ binary system). He is Harry Potter’s godfather, which makes Sirius, once again, a teacher and a guide. The wizard can turn into a big black dog, another link with the “dog star”.

In the Truman Show, a spotlight falls from the sky – used to imitate the light of a star in Truman’s fake world – and nearly hits him. The label on the spotlight identifies it as Sirius. Truman’s encounter with Sirius gives him a glimpse of “true knowledge” and prompts his quest for truth. Sirius is therefore the “star of initiation”. It caused Truman to realize the limitations of the his studio world (our material world) and lead him to freedom (spiritual emancipation).

In Conclusion

From the dawn of civilization to modern times, from remote tribes of Africa to the great capitals of the modern world, Sirius was – and still is – held in the highest regard. Despite the disparity between cultures and epochs, the same mysterious attributes are associated with the dog star across the globe. Sirius is invariably associated with divinity and is regarded as a mysterious source of knowledge and power. These connections are particularly evident when one examines the teachings and the symbolism of Mystery schools of History, who always claimed a spiritual connection with the celestial body. Is there a secret link between human evolution and Sirius? Unlocking this secret would mean unlocking one of humanity’s greatest mysteries.

For scholars of faith and history, it is a treasure trove too precious for price.

This ancient collection of 70 tiny books, their lead pages bound with wire, could unlock some of the secrets of the earliest days of Christianity.

Academics are divided as to their authenticity but say that if verified, they could prove as pivotal as the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947

On pages not much bigger than a credit card, are images, symbols and words that appear to refer to the Messiah and, possibly even, to the Crucifixion and Resurrection.

Adding to the intrigue, many of the books are sealed, prompting academics to speculate they are actually the lost collection of codices mentioned in the Bible’s Book Of Revelation

The books were discovered five years ago in a cave in a remote part of Jordan to which Christian refugees are known to have fled after the fall of Jerusalem in 70AD. Important documents from the same period have previously been found there.

Initial metallurgical tests indicate that some of the books could date from the first century AD

This estimate is based on the form of corrosion which has taken place, which experts believe would be impossible to achieve artificially.

If the dating is verified, the books would be among the earliest Christian documents, predating the writings of St Paul.

The prospect that they could contain contemporary accounts of the final years of Jesus’s life has excited scholars – although their enthusiasm is tempered by the fact that experts have previously been fooled by sophisticated fakes.

David Elkington, a British scholar of ancient religious history and archeology, and one of the few to have examined the books, says they could be ‘the major discovery of Christian history’.

‘It is a breathtaking thought that we have held these objects that might have been held by the early saints of the Church,’ he said.

But the mysteries between their ancient pages are not the books’ only riddle. Today, their whereabouts are also something of a mystery. After their discovery by a Jordanian Bedouin, the hoard was subsequently acquired by an Israeli Bedouin, who is said to have illegally smuggled them across the border into Israel, where they remain.

However, the Jordanian Government is now working at the highest levels to repatriate and safeguard the collection. Philip Davies, emeritus professor of biblical studies at Sheffield University, said there was powerful evidence that the books have a Christian origin in plates cast into a picture map of the holy city of Jerusalem.

‘As soon as I saw that, I was dumbstruck,’ he said. ‘That struck me as so obviously a Christian image. There is a cross in the foreground, and behind it is what has to be the tomb [of Jesus], a small building with an opening, and behind that the walls of the city.

‘There are walls depicted on other pages of these books too and they almost certainly refer to Jerusalem. It is a Christian crucifixion taking place outside the city walls.’

The British team leading the work on the discovery fears that the present Israeli ‘keeper’ may be looking to sell some of the books on to the black market, or worse – destroy them.

But the man who holds the books denies the charge and claims they have been in his family for 100 years.

Dr Margaret Barker, a former president of the Society for Old Testament Study, said: ‘The Book of Revelation tells of a sealed book that was opened only by the Messiah.

‘Other texts from the period tell of sealed books of wisdom and of a secret tradition passed on by Jesus to his closest disciples. That is the context for this discovery.’

Professor Davies said: ‘The possibility of a Hebrew-Christian origin is certainly suggested by the imagery and, if so, these codices are likely to bring dramatic new light to our understanding of a very significant but so far little understood period of history.’

Mr Elkington, who is leading British efforts to have the books returned to Jordan, said: ‘It is vital that the collection can be recovered intact and secured in the best possible circumstances, both for the benefit of its owners and for a potentially fascinated international audience.’

Archaeologists have discovered a set of tools they believe prove that man sailed the sea tens of thousands of years earlier than previously thought.

Rough axes and other tools thought to be between 130,000 and 700,000 years old were found close to shelters on the south coast of the Mediterranean island of Crete.

Crete has been separated from the mainland of Greece for about five million years, so whoever made the tools must have travelled there by sea, a distance of at least 40 miles.

The previous earliest evidence was of sea travel was 60,000 years ago; in Greece it was 11,000 years ago.

The findings upset the current view that human ancestors migrated to Europe from Africa by land alone.

The Greek Culture Ministry said in a statement yesterday: ‘The results of the survey not only provide evidence of sea voyages in the Mediterranean tens of thousands of years earlier than we were aware of so far, but also change our understanding of early hominids’ cognitive abilities.’

The previous earliest evidence of open-sea travel in Greece dates back 11,000 years.

The tools were found during a survey of caves and rock shelters near the village of Plakias by archaeologists from the American School of Classical Studies at Athens and the Culture Ministry.

Such rough stone implements are associated with Heidelberg Man and Homo Erectus, extinct precursors of the modern human race, which evolved from Africa about 200,000 years ago.

Maria Vlazaki, senior ministry archaeologist, said: ‘Up to now we had no proof of Early Stone Age presence on Crete.’

She said it was unclear where the hominids had sailed from, or whether the settlements were permanent.

‘They may have come from Africa or from the east,’ she said. ‘Future study should help.’

The team of archaeologists has applied for permission to conduct a more thorough excavation of the area, which Greek authorities are expected to approve later this year.

One of the biggest puzzles of mankind is how human beings came into existence. The differences between animals and humans are too fundamental to be sufficiently explained by evolution theory. The genesis story of the bible makes even less sense. If an all powerful and all knowing god had created us, why did he do such a less than perfect job? A far more sensible explanation is that modern humans are the result of alien genetic manipulation. It would explain both our ape-like instincts and our unique mental abilities.

We know that our ancestors have been around for over 100,000 years. According to the alien genetic manipulation theory, every 5000 years our planet is visited by aliens from Planet X, the tenth planet in our solar system. In Assyrian records those aliens are known as Anunaki. The reason for the long periods in between visits is that it takes that long for Planet X to come close enough to Earth for the Anunaki to make the trip. On their second last visit, around 8,000 B.C., the Anunaki implanted a sufficient amount of their genes into humans to enable us to make the switch from primitive group hunting to agriculture in the area of the ‘Fertile Crescent’, encompassing today’s Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Israel and Palestine, besides the south-eastern fringe of Turkey and the western fringe of Iran.

5,000 years later, on the following Anunaki expedition, further genetic manipulations resulted in the rise of more advanced state-like civilisations in Egypt, Mesopotamia, the Indus River and in China. Some humans were supposedly given extra rations of Anunaki genes to empower them to control their fellow humans on behalf of their alien masters. This is said to be the beginning of the ancient bloodlines of our ruling elite.

The aliens didn’t conduct those experiments out of the goodness of their hearts, but in an effort to make us more useful for them. They needed us as workers, soldiers and slaves. What they were after is fairly obvious: gold. All ancient cultures had only one purpose, the production of gold and other precious metals for our visitors from space. The Anunaki didn’t want to do the hard work of digging the gold out of the dirt themselves, so they created us and other humanoids like hobbles and Neanderthal men to do it for them.

The gods and demons of ancient religions are easily explained as descriptions of those alien visitors, as are the strikingly similar descriptions of dragons from different parts of the world. Most likely, Anunaki resemble reptiles, but have the ability of taking on other appearances.

During their last expedition a revolt broke out amongst the Anunaki, making them split into two warring camps. That conflict is reflected in the biblical story of Satan’s revolt against God. The trigger for the revolt was an attempt of the leader of the Anunaki visitors to crack down on rampant fraternisation between Anunakis and humans, which was bound to create a hybrid race that one day could become a threat to the total control and exploitation by the Anunaki.

The camp of the rebels was able to win a significant followership amongst human leaders. The latter were more than happy to produce off-spring with Anunaki superpowers. What is more, the ‘evil” camp was more appealing to them because siding with ‘Satan’ was far more rewarding than the hypocritical demands of frugality and unconditional obedience demanded by ‘God’. After all, why does the ‘good shepherd’ take so well care of his sheep? Because he wants their wool and meat.

The Anunakis left, but the human leaders of the two opposing camps have kept warring each other for the past 5000 years, Romans vs. Phoenicians, Hohenstaufens vs. Guelphs, Guelphs vs. Ghibellines, Medicis vs. Huguenots, Fascism^[1] vs. Communism and Freemasonry.

By the looks of it the Satanist camp is close to winning the 5000-year-war between “God” and “Satan”. It would be oversimplifying though to describe this as a conflict between morally good and evil. From an ordinary ‘sheep’s’ point of view, it’s a case of the pot calling the kettle black. If the ‘good’ side is only after your wool and meet, you might as well have some fun in the ‘evil’ camp.

The solution to this dilemma is obviously not as simple as joining either side. My point is that in this ‘Alien vs. Predator’ conflict, it doesn’t matter which of the two reptile camps wins, mankind always loses. The big challenge for us – regardless of the amount of Anunaki genes we carry in us – is to find a third option, in which we treat each other the way we would like to be treated if we were in the other person’s shoes.
